Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 sparks price war

Guardian writes: "Retailers around the country will open at midnight tonight in a bid to attract gamers desperate to get their hands on Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 – and the good news for consumers is that most will be offering big discounts.

Although the recommended retail price for the Xbox and PS3 formats is £54.99, consumers will be able to get their hands on a copy for almost £30 less, and cost cutting by big supermarket chains means that Modern Warfare 2 will be cheaper on the high street than it is online."

no rush to buy this game with MAG beta and BC2 beta in a couple of weeks.
especially since the game will be way cheaper next month.
TRU and BB are giving gift cards with the purchase this week, so the game will be had for 40 bucks next month, when I will get it

My biggest annoyance with this game was the price. If I could get this game for under £30 at a supermarket, I definately would. May have to go into town tonight and investigated.

Im annoyed with paying £42 from shopto.net now knowing i could go to our local sainsbury's and get it for £26! Seems supermarkets are the way forward for big titles!
