XNA Games coming to Zune

Chris Satchell just announced that XNA game tools will support game development on Zune in the future.

Just a shame its for Zune >_< i imported a 30GB one about 7months ago and broke within 4months, also its packed full with DRM.

Now don't get me wrong, I'm not knocking the Playstation 3 and its "Blu Ray" but for 2008 realistically this is the new FAD and Xbox360 was always going to dominate 2008.

First, let me explain why.

Microsoft always knew Sony would hype up its 2008 lineup early, and in the process it would end up blowing its wad.

Instead of hyping its games early, Microsoft did the opposite of Sony, and created a counter-move for them by keeping the details close to their vest.

With it, the Xbox360 is now poised to dominate 2008. It will dominate 2008 in North America, and here's how far we're coming:

TOO HUMAN

Rather than show off Too Human when it just wasn't ready, Microsoft SMARTLY took it back behind closed doors to polish this series off and to get everything just perfect.

Instead of rushing out with the hype train, they methodically waited and developed their games to have more detail.

As a result Too Human came out SHINING on 360 and had a PLAYABLE demo, which was AAA in excellence, and TOO HUMAN will also be the first RPG franchise to use XNA anywhere content sharing.

Meaning you will be able to SHARE your characters and items, between eachother, this was explained during the lengthy conference. It will allow transfer between and may even include functionality on the Zune, because that's how carefully they have worked on this game.

TOO HUMAN is a major bullet in the PS3 in fact, its a HUGE blow in Europe. "TOO HUMAN" was predicted to suck, but sure enough it does not at all- and it was one of the most played games on the show floor.

This "TOO HUMAN" is the killer app, one of a few, which will obviously sell in North America but clearly it will BRIDGE THE GAP in Europe where suddenly 360 was not selling as well and ran into issues due to SHORTAGES.

"TOO HUMAN" is a big game.

Next up was, SUPREME COMMANDER. Not nearly as talked for as "TOO HUMAN", SUPREME COMMANDER will also offer content sharing and they have another 360 title coming AFTER supreme commander which will make RTS fans squirm in anticipation.

Next up, is "CHAMPIONS ONLINE".

Rather than blow their wad and discuss the ancient marvel MMO that was canceled, Cryptic Studios and Microsoft went to work on creating an AMAZING game>>> Making an existing work of art even BETTER.

"CHAMPIONS ONLINE" will be huge in Europe, because it IS going to share content across platform and Europe has always wanted an RPG that could do that. Its going to be something MAJOR, because once again, there has been talk about it using features of the Zune as well and going the full distance.

Then comes *drumroll*............ GEARS OF WAR 2. Gears of War 2 has been CONFIRMED, CONFIRMED and dated for November 2008. With Cliff showing off the incredible new engine and multiplayer options that will be available, this game right here is going to sell like mad.

GEARS OF WAR 2 is using Live anywhere, its taking games to a whole nother level and in EUROPE people will especially be looking at this. GEARS OF WAR 2 is going to allow them to catch up FAST in Europe, especially with the options they are packing into the game that have not been done before.

So the XBOX360 future in Europe is already looking mighty hot, but we haven't even finished yet.

XNA Studio 5.0 is going to allow all developers, from all walks of life to create and distribute CONTENT on Xbox Live. This is unheard of, and its even going to work with the Zune, for any kind of games you can name. This is BIG, this is HUGE in fact for games.

MEDAL OF HONOR: THE FRONTLINES has come now as well, and will be XBOX360 exclusive. Up to 50 players will be able to play in FRONTLINES, since it was said they did have to scrap it for the station.

Don't get me wrong, I love the competition that Playstation is bringing but that's about it, since I don't like metal gear. Xbox360 has stormed the floor and is taking this entire year.

The next thing to drop is RARE's one two punch: 007 GOLDENEYE on Xbox Arcade. This game is already being shown and its slated for 2008, along with a swarm of others. And in Europe when GOLDENEYE is released sales are going to SWARM.

007 GOLDENEYE has one of the biggest fanbases, of any series to date in Europe and that's not actually a joke anymore. Its confirmed. GOLDENEYE is one of Rare's games on the docket.

Besides that, BANJO KAZOOIE 3 and SEVERAL other non-announced surprises are storming the 360 this year. They have not even been announced yet.

Fable 2 is going to use XNA anywhere, file sharing, and CO-OP just like Too Human---And a stand-alone game of Fable will be out on ARCADE that will allow you to build up your best character type. In a year devoid of Mass Effect, this news is unbelievable. 4 Player co-op confirmed.

Finally and this is not the end either, NINJA GAIDEN 2 has been dated for June. NINJA GAIDEN 2 will use all new modes of XNA we have not seen before, allowing sharing between consoles, allowing recordable movies, and allowing FILE VIDEO SHARING on the scale of HALO 3.

NINJA GAIDEN 2 is HUGE, its now an epic sized game. And this is not counting HALO WARS which a brief video was shown, its going to be incredible.

Finally LOST ODYSSEY is also in 2008, and will be released in Europe with an extensive content download campaign. This is one of the best RPGs I've ever played, enough said. And that's just for STARTERS: With Blu-Ray hitting that mass market price point, Microsoft is firing on the hits on all cylinders and will absolutely CRUSH the PS3 in North America and bring itself to be biting its heels in Europe.

This year as much as it seemed otherwise, belongs to XBOX360. Huge exclusive games like SPLINTER CELL 5 which will not be on PS3 this time either, and other third party announcements, lie in WAIT and I can not WAIT to see what they are. This is the year of the Box and the runner up is the station.
