I can promise you there are no where near the amount of people working on Eyepet then what would be required to finish Eight Days and The Getaway. Eyepet is not the reason why the games got cancelled, its more likely other games which we havent even heard about which is the main reason why those games were cancelled. Im guessing London Studios is hard at work with PS3 Motion control games, and im guessing we might hear about them at Gamescon in Germany. Would make sense for the european studios to show their games there, and they need to show off games soon if they are gonna have any games at launch.

That is a neat demo. Kids will definitely love it.
I just hope Sony and MS always support traditional controllers and don't go completely towards motion and camera controls in the future. I am too old and lazy to get up off the couch after a long day of real life for full body motion entertainment. Just ask my wife ;)

...Helicopter...I am pretty sure, those shapes are predefined. It might recognize a plane, but not a helicopter (like you need to draw some sort of wing, body and propeller). And BTW, the drawing might well be a plane after all.

Anyway, Eye can't do 3D recognition, huh ? Who said that? He moves his hand on a 3D surface. The table is correctly mapped into the pets 3D world. With depth information. What else do people need ?

ya this is pretty cool. Great for kids. However the difference with this and Natal is that this you still need to use a peripheral as you can see in the video while Natal you wouldn't. The whole point of Natal, which what i think you are all missing, is that the person IS the peripheral whereas the eyetoy the user is not the peripheral.

Thats the difference. I am sure you guys can understand that. Eyetoy needs peripheral, Natal doesn't.

Eyetoy needs to read something separated from your body to register an image or action on the screen. Natal reads your body.

Eyetoy also doesn't have voice recognition...Natal does.

Not saying Natal is leaps and bounds from eyetoy, but it is more sophisticated technology wise.

I have Eyetoy and love playing Eye of Judgment with friends online...but there are some BIG differences in both pieces of Technology here.

You would have to be an idiot, or a particular fanboy not to be able to see the differences.

see the biggest problem with natal to ME, is that I am the peripheral. why would i wanna be the peripheral??im playing a first person shooter, or a hack n slash and all i am doing is holding my hands in the air, swinging my hands around like a retard . id rather have a wand/controller in my hand and me performing those actions. mimicking 1.1 exactly what im doing. watch the natal demos they are slightly off. and i gotta pay GOD knows how much for that camera??i already have an eye toy all i need is a controller, maybe $30-$40 tops. when i make you a bet natal is gonna cost $150+. not to mention playing it on a piece of hardware that has a 30+% chance of failing. i dunno about you, but my brain would prefer to actually have a peripharel in my hands , actually physically touching something then grabbing/flailing the air.i think natal will be great. but i just feel for ME having the controller in my hand mimicking 1.1 what i do , is so much better then flailng my arms with no physical object in my hand.and the price point/hardware failure also turns me off.just MY opinion.

Why are you only assuming that Natal will be used for hack n slack games or FPS games? There are other possibilites out there. What about a fighting game where the moves you do are the moves in the game, kick, punch, uppercut....what about boxing games...or why not have Natal work along side controllers?

I think you are being very narrowminded regarding the possibilities that a dev can do to make a game. Not all games have to be FPS or hack n slash games. And maybe natal can do more than just for games. Voice recognition for one thing...think about playing FF XIII and instead of going through a menu system, selecting the character, then his action, you just say...."cloud, spell, fireball..." or if you are playing Oblivion you say fireball, or quickly point your finger at the tv and a magic missle flys out at the enemy....

You need to open up your mind. We are in the infancy of this kind of technology where it can be applied to games...lets see how it transpires. remember you don't have to buy anything you don't want.

I for one have no problem with paying $200 for this. I am a tech freek and i have no problem with paying $100 for 2 wands for my PS3. But atleast i can see the benifits of both technologies where as you only choose to see the benefits of 1. And using the 1:1 ratio and saying you like holding wands just makes you narrow minded. How do you know that when Natal is released it won't be 1:1, and if you like holding a wand in your hand, why wouldn't you like being able to do the same action without the wand in your hand and still having the same outcome?

I think i know why. I don't see on your Bio a gamertag for a 360 yet you are very set in mind that the wands from Sony are much better than Natal.....

Sony's for the hardcore fps's that I want to play with the wands and I want Natal in the hope that I can actually control my fighters movements in a fight night game. I need both cause having only one will just not cut it for me. plus i dnt think project natal will cost 200 bucks, I think it will be even more affordable.

first off i was just using hack and slash/fps as an example. also u mention about a rpg and saying what you wanna do, yea the eyetoy as well has a microphone and voice recognition. second when i had a 360 was before you probably ever did, but guess what?? the POS rrod on me 3 times, was sick of paying yearly for online which was not much better then sonys at the time, and having to pay for every little thing.like wireless adapter, rechargeable battery pack, HD DVD drive etc. so i traded it in to gamestop ,got store credit and used it towards my other consoles i have that actually work.and you mention"y not have natal work alongside controllers"?? so on top of natals price i have to spend even more money for controllers?? or do u mean a regular 360 controller? another problem i have with 360. how much more cost do i have to spend on little things that should be part of the console??

I went to a special VIP opening for the 360, opening night. So unless you got yours the day 1 of its global release, then no you didn't get yours before i got mine...and so what if yours RROD 3 times. Mine RROD 3 times, then the 4th xbox's disc tray didn't open the day i received it. So i had 5!!! Xbox's and then i bought an elite with the falcon chip...which then also RROD on me. Each one i didn't pay a cent for the repairs.

After reading some of your other comments i have to say that you are talking complete rubbish. Why would you have to buy another controller? Why couldn't you just use the one that came with your 360? You are clearly ignorant and know not what you are talking about. You are clearly just focusing on every Sony Fanboy comment that is negative to the 360 even having to bring up the eyetoy and saying that it is the same as Natal shows your ignorance and allegiance.
