It's been planned as a trilogy from day one. They've had the story for Creed 3 laid out since the original came out. Now they're probably just starting to talk about new gameplay elements they could work in and tossing together some concept art and stuff.

ubi has been doing a lot of games in 3's.

i wouldn't be suprised if they already have a full story spanning 3 games for the new PoP aswell.

AND its good for us gamers. AC is the sh!t.

Planning and releasing are 2 different things though. I am sure planning on Assassin's Creed 2 probably started shortly after AC1 was finished.

It s a cycle...The concept art team work with the designers early on.Then the modelers take over.Most of these people's work is done early on,or even 75% of the way in,but they can now be used to start on the next project for the studio......As they finish the rest of the team continue with their jobs from that point.But a small group of concept artists,designers,modelers are free to actually start on the next build/sequel.Proto types,art,story,ideas....

If you want a series to be successful, I suppose this is the sort of thing you have to do. Although normally I'd be worried about this when the game isn't yet all that close to completion.

Wasnt this a 'planned' trilogy? So technically they would of been planning Assassins Creed 3 since the first one.

Yes, the creator has written it out as a trilogy. Very old news.

That is true about planning 3rd but how far is a different matter. I guess they change quite a bit based on feedback from the previous 2.

AC2 looks just like the first game...full of repetitive missions

Where have you seen these repetitive mission's?
They said one of their ultimate goal's was to get rid of these shtty mission's from AC1

I think AC2 will be miles better than the first one. They hade a great concept on AC and a good story. What break the game was the repetitive missions but now the dev teams seems to have taken all of the criticism and delt with it. I could ofc be wrong but I hope not.

I think you are right,I agree.

The number 1 thing the dev team sought out to do was create a fresh experience,and create a game without the repetitive gameplay of the first one.The first one was a "flawed masterpiece",and after playing this for a few minutes and seeing it be played by others at E3 I can verify that this game IMO,will be far ahead of the first in all aspects,from A>I.to Eye candy,to gaining new attributes,getting a expansive list of new weapons,flying,swimming etc,etc....and most importantly gameplay with diverse and non repetitive missions....

One of my most anticipated games without doubt.

Im looking forward to assassins creed 2. Not becuase I want to play it.

I just want to know if they'll actually make the game as good as it could have been. The game was fine for the first few missions, but then you realise how repetitive it all is and youve basiclly done all the game has to offer way before the end...

This seems to sorta be a trend now first Violition announced SR3 within a week of SR2 being out and same thing with Dead Space.

AC was one of the most boring repetitive games I have ever played. I really hope AC2 has a little more variation to the missions and the towns.

Wasn't it a triology from day one? Or a planned one anyways?

I guess the once that make the story is already on the third and last one?

Nooo! Don't do it! If it's already being planned that means it could've been in part2 and should be a download or expansion. Did I get it right guys?

They already said that they will be getting DLC for part 2.They cannot use the new ideas they get for part 3, for part 2,as it will be from a totally different time frame...

I think it would be exciting if AC3 was set in Victorian England. It would be all Jack the Ripper, but without the bowel assisted strangulation. Other than that and the early 1900s (Russian revolution and all that) I can't really think of any interesting time periods without entering modern times. I suppose they could set it shortly after AC1, but in another location. Anyway, I'm excited to find out what they have planned.

SHOCKING! Industries work that way? I thought that companies just procrastinated and then winged all aspects of the production.

"O.k. people great job once again with the first one, but now we must come up with a second one. Any ideas?"

<awkward pause>

"Come on I'm serious people! Brainstorm time."

"Well what about if the guy turns out to be a cross dressing woman instead? Uhh.. with a big foam hat. And she/he is a renegade cop on the edge, loose in N.Y. trying to track down the man who kidnapped her/his lesbian lover the day that she/he had explosive diarrhea!"

"I'm seeing it! I'm seeing it! Run with it people!"

<timer goes off>

"O.k. thats a wrap people. I think we've got another hit on our hands. Cheers all around. We are going to absolutely blow away our customers next month when we launch the second one."
