Hey Darkeyes, did they say Microsoft won only because of Natal? No, they didn't. So quit being so ignorant and putting words in people's mouths.

I personally thought both Microsoft and Sony had great showings. Even Nintendo did better this year. Nobody, no matter what console they own, should have been disappointed by this E3.

That said, Microsoft's was the best for me because of the games they showed, first and foremost. AT least 6 huge 360 games are coming out in the next 8 months or so and for me that beats the 2 or 3 that the PS3 has coming that I plan on buying. I know this comes down to preference, but please don't tell me "Sony won because it had the games". I'm sorry but taken as a group Mass Effect 2, Forza 3, Alan Wake, Splinter Cell Conviction, Left 4 Dead 2, Halo ODST beats out Uncharted 2, God of War 3, and Heavy Rain. I am getting all of those games, but obviously there are more on the 360 side.

So for me Microsoft's showing was better because they showed more of the games I want to play and also had more solid release dates. Microsoft also did better in other areas, but the games were the main thing for me.

Wow Saberedge... You compare 5 games to 3 PS3 games and declare a winner.. wow. And seriously...
L4D2... A game that should have been a DLC.. And ya just go through that Valve story before replying.. The story that appeared in the 360 section.. Even the 360 gamers are agreeing that it should have been a DLC.. and Halo:ODST- IT's AN EXPANSION.. Will sell millions but it's an EXPANSION.

Compare GOW3, Uncharted 2, Rachet & Clank, Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 (ya better graphics+ extra contents.. If ODST being an expansion can show up so can NGS2), GT5, Quantum,WKC, MAG, Heavy Rain, FF14. And if you want more, then add in Agent and TLG as well (ya you can add up Halo:Reach).

And you also forgot that PS3 has had 3 AAA exclusives in this year (KZ2, Infamous,MLB...). Ya bring Metacritics all you want, but the games had more impact than Halo:Wars and any 360 exclusive released this year.

I agree PS3 games didn't have as many solid dates as the 360 ones, but if you are saying that M$ had a better software show than Sony, then frankly you are mistakened. And yes gets the M$ win by various sites cause of Natal's showing and MGS:Rising. Just go through every site including IGN and Gamespot and read the PS3 summary. All have said that Sony came all guns blazing with it's awesome PS3 line up and just look at the emphasis made on Natal in every E3 review out there. If you are saying that Natal isn't the biggest factor, then frankly you are lying. Just take Natal and Sony controllers out of this and then compare. Most sites would have given Sony the green flag... Sigh But people just get blinded by the smoke and mirrors used by M$ and that flashy Beetles and Speilberg...

EDIT: Oh ya even this site rates PS3 games higher... (Best Demo: GOW3, Best looking: GOW3 and UC2, Best Game of E3:GOW3, Biggest surprise: FF14). Check that every site posted the best games of E3 either has given the honors to Uncharted 2 or GOW3. Even MAG's 256 player online has had a COD:MW2 equivalent impact since most people have their jaw drop literally. FF14 was a big hit although being a MMORPG and so was TLG. Even Agent is a huge prospect as Rock*+PS3=Something EPIC.

That whole "it's on PC so it isn't an exclusive" is such a cop out.

I'll tell you why. Most gamers nowadays are console gamers. PC versions of games sell only a fraction of their console counterparts, so obviously it is on the consoles where the games have the real impact.

Millions of gamers out there are like me in that we own a console (or two or three) and if a game doesn't come out for the consoles we own, we won't be able to play it. I own a PS3 and a 360, for example, so if a game comes out on the 360 that isn't on the PS3 I have to get it for my 360 or else not play it. The fact that some people can play it on the PC makes no difference to me. I honestly couldn't care less.

Another reason that argument is a cop out is because it is so disingenuous. If you haven't noticed, the forums and comment sections of video gaming sites aren't filled with PC fanboys battling 360 or PS3 fanboys. The true competition is between the consoles, especially between the HD consoles.

Moreover, probably around half of the people who buy a PC game are essentially hard core PC gamers who could care less about the consoles. Therefor, what those people choose to buy and play on their PCs has very little impact on the competition between the consoles. Then of course, some of the PC gamers who choose to buy a game on the PC also own a 360. Only maybe around 25% of PC gamers are PS3/PC owners, which when you compare those numbers against the number of gamers who game exclusively on consoles it is virtually insignificant.

This is why console exclusives matter and make a huge difference not only to the majority of us who are console gamers, but also to the console makers in their struggle for market share.

PC gaming has been around and is a very big market for games. So stop conveniently casting it aside like it isn't.

The fact is, the PC is considered a platform.

So if a 360 game is also on the PC, it's MULTIPLATFORM. There's no f'in thing as "console exclusive" because that's a retarded phrase made up by fanboys.

FACT. To play PS3 exclusives. You need a PS3. Simple. End discussion.

FACT. To play a 360 "exclusive" that's also on the PC. You don't need a 360. You just need a PC.

You can take out the 360 completely, and still be able to play Mass Effect 2, Left4Dead 2, Alan Wake etc. etc. on a PC.

The word exclusive literally means "shutting out all others from a part or share"

Look it up if you don't believe me.

That being said, The Agency, DC Universe MMO, Free Realms FFXIV, etc. etc. that is PS3/PC is NOT exclusive to the PS3. But notice how they are all MMO's.

And while I agree that the 360 has many games coming out, for you to only list 3 PS3 games shows your true preference. Please stop acting like you're some neutral gamer because we always know you're in defense of the 360 vs PS3.

Both lineups for ps3 and 360 are great but when u try an say the 360 has the best lineup of games? Im not sure I would agree with that in my opinion but if we go by facts. Right now the ps3 has 3 AAA titles already for 2009. If the 360 has the best lineup this year out of the 2 then enlighten me with how many AAA exclusives are out already for the 360? Guess u cant really say anything until this year is over and I can almost guarantee u aswell that Uncharted 2 will be GOTY for 09. U dont believe me? Even with its beta the game is getting GOTY praises. Thats saying alot for something that aint even half of what the full game is going to offer.

Let's be honest though, people like you (who own the particular combination of a PS3/gaming PC) make up maybe around 5% of all gamers.

So, for the vast majority of us, who only game on consoles, these games are as exclusive as any exclusive.

For someone like me, who only owns a PS3 and a 360, the concept of console exclusive is very real and very important. If a game I want is on 360, but not on PS3 I have to get it on the 360.

Your little lists and distinctions mean nothing to me and to millions more like me.

OK for starters in a few posts up you claim that of all pc owners only 25% is comprised of pc/ps3 owners.. But in a post further down the page you claim that the pc/ps3 owner base is 5%..... So what exactly makes you the authority on the statistics of ps3/pc vs 360/pc ownership? Hmm sounds like someon is downplaying the importance of the pc in console exclusivity.... For example I am a proud ps3 owner.. never had a reason to regret my purchase... Was thinking about buying a 360 so I could play some of the games but I absolutely refuse to spend my hard earned money on a product that is flawed and faulty so what am I to do? Easy I just play them on my computer... Why would I go spend 300-400 on a console whenever I cans spend 60 bucks to be able to play on my pc.. To end, nobody is denying that fact that there is high quality content on the 360, but instead the claim that the ps3 is inferior to the 360...... You know as well as the rest of the world, just because you dont prefere the titles on the ps3 does not diminish the fact that the content available on the ps3 Is very hard to beat.....

29 games. We've seen screenshots or footage of all of them except for Agent, and they're confirmed for North American release. That's 29 versus the 16 that you mentioned for 360. But it's really 15 for your list, because it makes no sense to list Mistwalker RPG. I mean, at least Agent is announced and we have a concept for what it's about as described by the Houser brothers in post-E3 interviews. We may not have seen screens or video, but we have some details and an announcement. "Mistwalker RPG" is not more real (and perhaps less so) than Twisted Metal PS3 and Starhawk, which we know some concepts about, and we know they exist, but you see, I didn't list them in the list of PS3 games, because they're not announced yet.

It seems to me that the PS3 still has more exclusives coming down the pipeline. There are probably some minor 360 exclusives that you didn't mention in your list and that I am not aware of, but are there 15 of them?

Also, mind you, I'm not saying that just because there are MORE PS3 exclusives in the pipeline that they are all better than what the 360 line-up has to offer. The 360 line-up is loaded with impressive looking titles. But so is the PS3 line-up. I would disagree with Master Chief's statement that the 360 is "getting all the best games," because the 360 is quite clearly not getting any of those 29 titles I mentioned, and surely you can't believe that every single one of those games is inferior to every one of those 360 games? Some of them will qualify as "the best games" (whatever that really means).

The fact remains, if you want the best games, you've got to have both consoles.

GT5(uh-oh), GOW3 (ouch), The Last Guardian (prediction: this game will be the best game released this generation), Modnation Racers, Insomniac's game (they release a game a year. probably will be R3), Heavy Rain, David Jaffe confirmed that we'll see his game released in 2010 (rumoured as Twisted Metal), Starhawk, Agent etc....

As you can see, sony also has games this holiday and next year, so dont be ignorant.

There is no doubt that the PS3 has some great games coming up and I am really glad I have a PS3. However, don't try to tell me that that lineup destroys the 360's lineup like so many PS3 fanboys are trying to do. Because, by any objective standard, it doesn't. I think if you go by empirically measurable metrics like sales and critical reception I think the 360 will average higher.

Now, that absolutely does not mean that YOU as an individual has to agree that the 360's lineup is better, it is simply a way of looking at it from an objective angle. That is, which games do you HONESTLY think will do better, both critically and commercially. My bet is on the 360 lineup.

That's the first way of looking at it. The second way of looking at it is 'subjectively'. In other words, which games are you PERSONALLY looking forward to most. For me, the PS3's lineup isn't as good as the 360's because out of the games we know are coming out this year the only one I am sure I want is Uncharted 2 (and damn do I want it).

Ratchet & Clank is not my kind of game. I played a few on the PS2 last generation and they are starting to feel a little old to me. What is this, like the 8th game in the series? Insomniac have definitely made some improvements, but not enough in my opinion. Especially since the franchise never blew me away in the first place.

MAG is an online only game and I am still open to it, but so far I haven't been impressed by what I have seen. I'll just say it's a big 'maybe' for right now.

Ninja Gaiden 2 Sigma is a good game and I am glad PS3-only owners will get to enjoy it, but I already own it on the 360. I have looked at the additions they are doing for this release and it simply isn't enough to warrant another purchase from me.

The 360 has Forza 3, Splinter Cell Conviction, Left 4 Dead 2 and Halo ODST, all of which are high on my wish list.

The point of all of this is, whether you are looking at it from an objective or subjective standpoint you simply can't claim that the PS3 has the best lineup. From an objective standpoint I doubt any sensible person would truly believe that the PS3 lineup will outscore and outsell the 360 lineup. And from a subjective standpoint, you have to recognize that not everybody is going to agree with you about the PS3 having a better lineup.

If the PS3's is the best lineup for you, great, just be happy you have the console with the better lineup for you. But don't arrogantly proclaim that Sony deserved to win the show just because you thought their game lineup was better. After all, if you are entitled to your opinion so are all the gamers and journalists in the press who thought Microsoft had a better showing.
