"E3 last year dulled our expectations sufficiently that the one this year is capable of really blowing our minds. Or, perhaps, maybe, possibly, Microsoft just hit this one out of the park."

Good to see MS outdid themselves again and that the media was impressed

I find it funny how at the end of the article, they say that "Microsoft has won", cause all I saw was 5 exclusives this year that were all expected and 2 for next year. Compare that to the PS3's lineup and you see how Microsoft falls short. I'm not saying that those games are bad, cause they look pretty good and Microsoft was in need of some exclusives this year, but you can't shut down the PS3 when there are already something like 3x as many exclusives announced and many more to be announced in the next few days.

i really dont see what is the fuss about Natal
we have no idea when it will be released and how much it will cost. also how many devs will support it? i mean, making a HD game exclusive for XBOX360 because of this feature seems suiside to me.......unless MS covers the cost.
also the girl demostrate natal looks silly.

I actually thought they didn't outdo themselves. MGS on 360 was expected by many, and even hinted at several times. They showed multiplatform games I didn't care about and only showed one exclusive game I did care about. Natal looks like a rip off of the Playstation Eye and the Wiimote, but Milo looks absolutely stunning. That was my favorite part. But overall, I think it fell short of last years, surprisingly.

4 - well...
at least before reading the article, they said "complete with opinions and over the top cynicism." Obviously, we can't say anyone has won until all three first party conferences are over. So tomorrow at 4 P.M. Eastern when Sony's conference is over, we can tell who has 'won' this year's E3, even though in the end, both MS and Sony have great line-ups.

5 - a bit of a premature announcement "win" if you ask me
a bit of a premature announcement "win" if you ask me... sophomoric even. Reminds me of a 4 year old who does his little bit of show and tell and automatically crowns him or herself the winner, without looking left or right.

Don't you think there's a reason Sony went ahead and pre-announced most of their known exclusive titles for this year and next Mr. Tim McDonald? Could it be because Sony has a bit too much to announce this year that they had to pick and choose? Really now.

6 - natal
did anyone see ubisoft? they have a cam that does depth and it comes out this year not 2-3 years from now. and milo is a rip off of the eye-pet that was shown last year. cool? yes. inventive? no

why disagree with the truth?
xi- your point just proves mine. I did not assume sony was first.

6.1 - actually
milo is a rip off Hey You pikachu, which was a rip off of seaman for the dreamcast.

Sony isn't always first like you tend to think.

Not to mention, milo was only a techdemo.

Also, ubisoft's cam doesn't do what the natal does, it can't do vocal recognition or scan items like clothing, skateboards, the fish she drew and other items.

7 - Congrats to Microsoft...
I have to admit I was impressed by Microsoft's showing. I was really impressed with Natal. Not so much for the tech because Sony has shown similar tech in the past but because of the directions Microsoft are going to take this technology (i.e. Milo). Sony has eye-pet but this Milo stuff is better and more interesting to me. Sony already has the camera they just need to support it finally by writing the software for it. Hopefully, Microsoft's showing of this tech lights a fire under Sony's ass so they can finally fully support the Playstation Eye with Software we care about. I have been looking for a reason to buy an XBox 360, I just might buy one if and when this tech is released and is proven to work well. I was very impressed with Splinter Cell Conviction's gameplay, graphics and the fact that it is open world.

It's probably a contractual requirement to have all four members represented at any Beatles announcement. George Harrison's widow was there too.

I'm a Beatles fan - I'm well aware of the history. There was no reason for her to be there, yet she was. So, like I said, it must be a contractual thing that MS had nothing to do with.

9 - Not so impressed with...
I wasn't that impressed with Alan Wake. Why is it taking them so long to finish that game. The game is nothing special. I did like how the the light changed when all that supernatural stuff was happening. I also like the sound. It definitely doesn't look as good visually as Heavy Rain. I thought Final Fantasy XIII looked better than I thought it would on the XBox 360. But the true test would be the comparison on how FF XIII (PS3 Version) looks compared to FF Versus XIII to see if Square Enix dumbed it down for the XBox 360. I wasn't really impressed with Forza. I didn't really like all the trash talking by the developer about being the best (60 fps...blah blah blah). Other racing games have been 60 fps and look better...Burnout, GTP. I can bet any amount of money that GT5 will look better and run better. That engine Polyphony Digital got is life like with the HDR lighting and 1080p 60 FPS. When I first saw GTP I thought this looks like real life. When I first saw Forza 3, I thought this looks like a slightly better looking Ridge racer 7.

10 - I know I was impressed with what I saw.
Having to work all day to come home and find REAL NEWS was refreshing.

Halo ODST

Halo Reach

Splinter Cell : Conviction

Alan Wake

Modern Warfare 2

Metal Gear Solid

Mass Effect 2

Assassin's Creed 2

It was a very good show today. Now I wanna see what Sony does with God of War.....maybe it'll make me get a PS3 sooner than later.

*waiting for a PS3 price drop*
