Lost Planet 2. FF14. and a Rockstar Game? Motion controls that let you pickup things in real 3d space, has applications for gaming as was shown today, and is working in real time for the world to see, not behind closed doors.. And oh yeah.. the 9092309523 other games presented today.

I really wonder if Konami will use the check M$ paid them with to work on the psp version? Because its looking pretty slick.

Metal Gear will be good, but I'm looking forward to other Sony exclusives. That LBP racing game "ModNation" is crazy. That's why I love Sony. They don't spend time on Multi-platform games, They focus on exclusives. It was just too many for the conference. We should look forward to more news over the next couple of days and months. He completely disowned the game right there on stage during the Sony conference. I've never seen anything like it all my years of watching E3 conferences. To have the creator of a series come right out and say a game that was just unveiled the day before at another company's conference, Microsoft's, is not a real part of his beloved franchise and he has nothing to do with it.

MS is the industries step child who is forced to make itself appear larger than it is. Not a single new IP was announced for the console. Just underwhelming sequels and footage. Alan wake has been in development for 50 years, it came and went without a buzz on the net. Lets say Killzone2's in-game footage had hot stories/coverage the day after they were done. It looked underwhelming, and you have idiots pretending the lighting was amazing? WHat about the character models expressionless faces.. wait back to the lighting, how many of you 3d experts know how hard it is to render a flashlight cone, in darkness. Please...

Uncharted2 stomped all over everyone and their mothers graphically, and was choreographed better than KZ2. Plus it had a huge draw distance, i guarantee you the uncharted2 stories are going to be a lot more buzzed about than the flashlight simulator.

Its funny to watch the usuals on this site pretend that all of a sudden they are looking forward to a concept of body tracking. Weren't these the same people bashing motion controls as a childs gimmick? Now the Mart is gunna do a full workout in 15 minutes hitting halo balls around? Please. MS has 0 direction on who/what they are this generation. They dont have any games to show off, so they focus on offering media content?

Wait weren't those same usuals the one that said they own a console to play games, and not movies? Yet they are pretending that they are about to get full 1080p videos with surround sound without any SINGLE delay? When they cant even do it now.. Perhaps MS discovered a black hole that Hulu/Youtube/Science/bandwidth hasn't discovered yet.

Lets say this game IS exclusive. The 360's gaming library is garbage and the only thing that will ever make headlines is "Stealing" a playstation franchise as Kotaku,Edge,NextGen,and G4TV words it. ITs the truth, and thats why the hottest stories on n4g isn't anything related to a 360 ip. Its always going to be in the shadow of the true innovators and pioneers, thats why they fail at this business model of "getting in to just compete" Ipod killed the Zune, and the wii/Ps3 is going to kill the 360. Theres no definitive reason to own one, outside of not being able to afford a ps3, so you'll play the watered down "me too" title thats developed and less time, and looks like it.

Sony stomped all over MS's game lineup, and the best part is that sony has 3 consoles to beat over Microsofts head. Microsoft can barely keep the 360 ahead of the PS2 let alone the PS3 at its firesale price.

Lost Planet 2 is on the PS3. Rockstar is making an exclusive game for the ps3. FF14 is heading to the PS3. These are Games, not hype. Not sure what half of you are on this site for, but Sony just killed MS with gaming. MS wins as far as unrealistic technologies and not having a focus of your console. So what are your gaming reasons to own a 360 again? Oh yeah, facebook.

Heres a hint though for MS, maybe it will get to them? If you want the 360 to be the hub of the living room, maybe you should have made it reliable?

Can't be that shocking to any but the densest of fans. MS themselves refused to confirm exclusivity so you had to figure it wasn't.

Kojima made it a point to say that he and his MGS5 team were developing the Peacewalker and that he would personally write it. Meanwhile MGS:R seems like the title Konami forced him to put out for sales. It could still be a good game, but it looks like it's little more than a quick tug of the teat. I hope whoever's directing has some ambition. I don't want this title to be some quick, brutal one-off.

The fanboys are going to gloat about it, but I agree. Kojima is already trying to distance himself from the game. However, now it's up to the devs to make this shine and hopefully bang out a proper iteration of the series, even if it's not stealth. An uphill battle for sure, but I hope they can pull off something exciting that long time fans of the series like myself can respect.

From the magazine, Kojima does not direct and didn't do the character design, he only produces the game.
Raiden is going to be the main character in MGS5, who is also the main character in Rising.

forza 3, halo odst and reach aren't multi plats. Neither is joyride or the epic thing they showed. Natal was shown working and isn't 100% yet, maybe they are shooting themselves in the foot and won't be able to get it up to the standard they showed, we'll have to wait and see.

I was really impressed with natal, probably because i was just expecting something the same as the live vision camera, but they went all out with it. I was equally impressed with the ps3 motion controller, but then i was impressed with the wiimote back in 2006 and i sold my wii after 3 weeks

Let's think this one out. There are two Metal Gear games announced. One game is starring Raiden and being made by whoever at Konami. The other game is starring Snake(all 4 of them), and is being made by Hideo Kojima and his team that did MGS4. So which is the real MGS and which is the side story. I pick door number 2.

MGS:Rising is just a side story. MGS:Peace Walker is the game that is on the primary story line.

I would say, "ha, ha, Xboxers, Sony wins this round and Microsoft loses" except that I don't have a PSP. So while Sony actually does win, I don't win. I am in the same boat as the 360-only guys, because I have no PSP. Now, I have to get one because I see no point in owning video game systems if I can't play all the Metal Gear Solid sequels.

A little history about me... I was once a Sony leg humper such as yourself.. I didn't even own an original xbox.. I was blind like you... but after Sony made the mistake of delaying the PS3 and coming up with the most expensive blu-ray player.. I knew as a gamer that I had to try something else... I didn't want to have the same experience many us Us nintendo fans had when Nintendo screwed up with the N64...

You see... starting with the PSP (yes I purchased one) Sony started to used their fanbase to promote other ventures like UMD and blu-ray.. in many cases passing the cost to their fans... since many would buy anything as long as it has Playstation name on it... this is why they said, "We can sell PS3 even without games... and price do not matter..." that may be true with many of the Sony loyalist.. but not with everyone... where do you think the xbox 360 fanbase comes from?

I dont care about the whole which console the game is for argument. I want to get it regardless but WTF is going on here? Look at these chain of events.

*First an article surfaces thats about Kojima not being happy with MGS:R. I thought fine, Kojima is never satisfied with his own work. However, things are starting to happen that may bring some validity to his statement.

*Then at the MS conference Kojima sets Don Mattrick straight right on stage when Don says that its pleasure to have Snake on 360 and Kojima say "but Don, I didnt say Snake was in the the game". At first I thought it was scripted but now I dont think it was.

*Then Kojima states that he himself will not have a hand in MGS:R. My thoughts were ok, I have faith in the KP team but now its being reported that they are'nt even working on it. So who in the hell is??

*Kojima appears at Sony conference with a PSP announcement and declares it as cannonical Metal Gear Solid game for PSP which he and his team are directly involved in.

At this point I can almost guess what has happened here. Konami approached Kojima about making a Proper MGS multi platform ip and he the answer was no. Well.. can we use Snake and have one of our other studios a game with him in it? No. Well what if we Raiden and create a story that evolves around him with Lightning Bolt Action"? Hmmmm. I'll look into this one. I'm hoping for some hyper action in this game due to playing Cyborg Raiden, MGS has been off of my radar as a franchise since MGS2. Just not my type of genre.
I'm incapable of doing stealth, I just like shooting the heck out of everything, I can see why everyone else likes the series, I just want to get right to the action in my choice of games.

the Metal Gear Solid fanbase is primarily on Playstation consoles, so it's not completely unreasonable to believe that the next Metal Gear game will show up on a Playstation console.

i think both press conferences were good and all, i think the media gives ms an edge due to metal gear comin to their platform.

also had sony announced a price cut on the ps3 and introduce the psp go at the current price of the current psp 3000 instead of that ridiculous price tag of 249.99? than sony would have won by default.

i mean take halo odst for example this game is no longer than ratchet n clank quest for booty and it costs 4 times the price at 60 bucks?

The argument that set the fanboys ablaze was whether mgs4 would ever make it to the 360. And it won't. Ever.

This is a whole new multiplat game that will now be a lesser game in comparison to its predecessor due to the limitations of the 360.

3: MGS4 has already owned it graphically. From the past. Even before it comes out.

People were saying MGS4 would NEVER come to the system and they were right. A new MGS? It was possible, considering MS has to pay to get this stuff. And what's this? It's a spin off? It's not what people were expecting...people haven't been paying attention. They called it exclusive too early, they jumped the gun on that - and now they think it's gonna be a MGS4 esque title when it WILL NOT BE anywhere near that. Think, Ninja Gaiden / Raiden / MGS "story" which won't be anything to write home about.

The PSP game that was revealed is a true MGS sequel so that's the one you guys should be clamoring about for. Write the people at MS and have them try to secure a Live DL for Peacewalker, that's the game you want.

It's a spinoff, I mean, I am a huge MGS fan but this isn't going to be like most MGS games...you guys aren't getting MGS4 (lmao) so you all can chill. Hell, the PSP game is gonna be better than this one and you won't be getting that one.

So all the 360 fans who thought they had just won the lottery need to just chill. Be thankful you at least get some sort of Metal Gear game on your system, albeit something you all weren't expecting.
