I do not care about graphics. All i care about for this game is the gameplay and the story. With jaffe and barlog gone i am simply terrified at the direction this game will go. I also hope they make a true next gen leap and not just lame like DMC4. They have to do stuff other action games aren't doing. They have to put DMC4 and Ninja Gaiden to shame.

GOW is one of my favorite games so i hope it is a win all round
Story gameplay and dare i say it give me some online features and really push the franchise as hard as you can for 3.

well, from what i've heard both Barlog and Jaffe (Jaffe for certain) have expressed genuine interest in being involved with GoW3. given how closely the two are associated to the GoW series, as well as the series importance to the PS3, i'm sure Sony will let the vets back on the project in some meaningful fashion. i remain highly optimistic about GoW3

jaffe left and started his own independent company called Eat, Sleep and Play. think of them as a second-party studio, sorta like Insomniac; they aren't owned by Sony, but they're pretty much exclusive to them. as for barlog, i honestly don't know where he went or what he's doing.

There was an interview on N4G about Barlog and Jaffe leaving...

....BUT in that interview they were saying how practically the entire dev team are still there working on GOW.

I wouldn't worry too much, we know the tech and graphic side will be fine, and if jaffe has put down the story already then we have quite a few bases covered.

Let's see how some of the early play tests go before we condemn the game.

Actually I read a hands-on preview of this game and they said it was nothing new, more of the same... looks to be a disappointment.

Phew! Glad I can cool the hype down a little bit, come on the game's a year and a half away, don't get excited yet. I don't doubt it will be awesome, but you'll just attract criticism for the game before we've seen it.

ROFL @ thor and the rest of the 360 fanboys in this section. After having a good look at Fable 2 and Gears of War 2 I'm convinced that developers have already maxed out the 360's power, not to mention they're being limited with DVD9. Have you seen the animations in Fable 2? Absolutely horrible. Looks and plays like an MMO. Same goes for Gears but then again when was the Unreal Engine ever good at animations? Then we have Ubisoft's next Naruto game exclusively for 360. For a sequel, it's looking even worse than Rise of Ninja with jaggies like there's no tomorrow.

Judging from all the upcoming PS3 games that have been seen running in real-time, it's safe to say that the PS3 has already begun taking over. Killzone 2 and Motorstorm 2 are already looking better than every upcoming 360 game and they're not even finished yet. Just wait till they unveil the gameplay for Heavy Rain and God of War III.

^^^ actually UE3 has always been very competent at character modeling and animation...it is lighting and particle effects that are the ultimate lame out of UE3 for the most part...while Gears 2 seems to be the best of UE3 games currently, it still has very lame looking particle effects/explosions...and the same awkward light sourcing (almost every video has several occurances of the character's shadow getting 'confused')...maybe that will be fixed by the time the game releases...and if so, UE3 will be right back up with some of the best looking engines around...if not...it will look like a mod for Ut3...currently, it appears to be more the latter than the former...

well, Santa Monica studios have been giving Guerilla Games some tips on how to make KZ2 better graphically, so you know they've been probably developing GOW3 while attempting to complete GOW2 ROFL. i wouldnt be surprised if GOW3 looks like CGI, i mean, look how KZ2 looks, people doubt the power of the PS3, these doubters are dumb.

in the EGM/1up interview with Guerilla...Guerially said that they were sharing engine assets with GoW 3 guys, and vice versa...

GoW 3 is rumored to use the same lighting engine as Killzone 2...of which will be the only other announced game to do so so far...and will also use some of the dynamic weather effects that guerilla engineered for KZ2...

but...it was also said that Guerilla tapped Santa Monica's assets for destructibility and evironmental detail rendering (weather that is in terms of some of the procedural textures is unknown)...

both games will be gorgeous...but I still hate pre-rendered videos for games...that is one hell of a high target render for GoW 3...but we'll see I guess...

I thought Beowulf was real when I first watched it I was drunk but still thought it was real; I doubt GOW3 looks like Beowulf. PS3 isn't even as powerful as the 360. If people actaully seen GOW3 gameplay they sure would have shown it at E3 lol.

If Sony seen the MSFT E3 spotlight there is no way in hell they wouldn't have known GOW3's progress using real gameplay as an tool to counter MSFT. lol
