Maybe it was based on game play rather than graphics? Going by your standards Crysis warhead was the best game of the show. Did any of you guys play KZ1? Have any of you read any of the previews that all seem to point out that is bland and unoriginal? KZ 1 was about a 6-7 why would part 2 be any different? Guerilla HASN”T MADE ONE GOOD GAME YET YOU BRAIN DEAD IDIOTs!?!?!?!? Why is it so hard to believe that KZ 2 will be more of the same trash those of us with brains have seen guerilla pump out for years? First of all Virus, there is no need to be calling anyone "Brain Dead Idiots", we can talk without having to foul mouth anyone. And secondly, no ever said Crysis doesn't has the best graphics, it does, imo. Also, having a history of bad games doesn't mean that the next is a definite failure, maybe they'll come around this time, who knows? But as it stands, Killzone -2's demo from the looks of it deserves a 7 to 8 at the least. The fact that whoever is playing that game manages to get around and kill some soldiers means that the game is at least playable rather than condemning it for horrible gameplay. And my only argument was that the reviewer found similar aspect of the game positive in Gears but negative in KZ.

Well, I'm doubting the game will get a 6, but so far, I'm feeling that it's going to get similar scores to the first game. All in all, that'll mean it's a solid game. It just won't be what everyone is hyping it up to be, just like almost every game except the rare few that actually live up to the hype, such as MGS4.

Halo it's sad that so much time is wasted on KZ2 when games that are actually going to be good like resistance 2 and LBP seem to go over looked. People say MS hypes up halo yet at least halo comes from a proven dev with millions of games sold and a loyal fanbase unlike KZ2. KZ 2 is 100% hype and zero % substance from what has been shown and said. KZ 1 was hyped just as much and “halo killer” was tossed around by Sony very recklessly and then it blew up in their face. KZ even getting a sequel surprised the hell out of me. It would be like MS making a sequel to shardowrun. The gfx are simply amazing and possibly the best on a console but i don’t buy games from companies with proven track records for sucking and If I wanted to buy a game for gfx alone it surely wouldn’t be a console game considering 2560x1600 has 4 times the pixels of 720p. I learned my lesson about buying into hype from junk companies from buying games made by acclaim as a kid. Guerilla is the acclaim of this gen; they have never made a good game yet people love to talk them up.

Having played both KZ1 and GOW1 i dont see how this score is even slightly out of line. Gears on metacritic (I know metacritic is owned by MS BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH have a tissue) got a 94 and kz1 a 70. Crazy how history seems to repeat itself!

GG's have made two games in their existence, this game seems to improve on everything everyone had a problem with the last game. I'm sorry man, I know everyone is on your case, but I gotta say your a little off. If you look at the game play videos you can see that this game looks really solid. Granted it's only a video, you can still get a good idea of what the game will offer. Have you seen the character animations they got? you shoot a guy in the knee and he acts like he got shot in the knee! Thats f*ckin cool. That alone makes me want to play the game.
I think the big point is that the author knocks on Killzone 2 for the same reason he like Gears of War 2. How does that make sense to you? Your point don't really make complete sense, they're like a half finished sentence, I think I know what you were saying but I'm not quite sure. However to be fare, your opinions are your own and although many people here would respect that you try to hide you bias behind logic, and we all know how well that works out.

RememberThe357 I agree that it does in fact look awesome. I will not take that away from the game. That being said i thought Killzone one looked awesome, i went out bought it and low and behold it wasn’t awesome. I have been playing games for 26 some years of my life and i have seen MANY games with awesome graphics come out that are a let down. GFX are NEVER a substitute for good game play. Guerilla has fooled me more than once and i am not buying into the same old BS again. With SOOOOO many good games on the horizon why waste my time getting pumped over a game that is being called bland? I will be playing gears 2 and resistance 2 so killzone will have to be awesome to even warrant my time. If it comes out and gets great reviews i will rent it. If i like it i will buy it end of story, I can admit being wrong and have done so before. I thought Lair would be awesome because it had dragons and lots of killing, I thought the n64 would beat the ps1, I thought the dreamcast would do well and the list goes on. That being said Killzone 2 has to PROVE it is worth my dollar with more than shiny gfx based on the trash guerilla has put out in the past. Sorry i am going by real world experience not hype sony is shoving down my throat. I am not saying killzone can’t be good, I am saying I am not calling it a good game until it has proven itself simply based on the fact that the other killzone games have been mediocre at best. I don’t pay to see Uwe Boll movies for the same reason I don’t give Guerilla my money.

Why is it okay to have a positive biased towards a game made by a good studio but not negative biased towards a game made by a bad studio? MGS4 had 10s before it came out just based on our faith in Kojima why can’t it work the other way around? No one is willing to touch my comments about guerilla never making a good game because we all know it’s true.

PS gears got game of the year and is one of the highest rated next gen games from the makers of unreal and UT. KZ1 was a flop from a dev with a history of flops. The difference is very obvious. Gears is a much fresher idea than killzone. Neither is revolutionary but KZ has been done much more often than gears. How many games got a cover system post gears? Better question how many games got regen health and a dedicated nade button post halo....... And neither game brought anything new to the table uhh huh.

If anything I would say it's a bad time to be a an Xbox owner based on microsofts E3 conference, to me it looks like thier slightly pushing that "hardcore" audience like myself aside in favor of a more casual market, if you think about it they showed Fallout 3, RE5, and FF13, all games coming to the PS3 aswell, thier exclusives that thier trying push scene it? your in the movies? LIPS? or those silly avatars and maybe you good include more Portal but they didn't say anything about what it would be, but I dont want to play this stuff, I want more of the quality titles MS had last year.

whereas on PS3 theres titles like Socom, LBP, Resistance 2, Bioshock, Infamous and God of War on top of Fallout, RE5 and FF13 to fall back on even if KZ2 isn't great(which i'm confident it will be.)

They might be a bit too harsh on Killzone 2. However, multiple reports from E3 indicate that while pretty, the gameplay itself is way too predictable (aka uninspired) and that they need to work hard on it.

LOL. The multiplayer alone makes this game absolutely insane. The gray graphics? Thats one level you idiots.

Even still, if its all gray, ITS A WARZONE! There are no forest or anything like that, but if "beautiful colors" is what you want in your shooting games, then maybe, just maybe, you are a tad bit gay.

Me personally, having multiplayer graphics that top every other console games single player graphics, smooth framerate, and physics/lighting thats unparalleled in any game, thats enough for me.

Killzone 2 is looking amazing. Hate on it all you want about the "colors", but I like the gritty gloomy art direction. Whats funny is you never hear anyone say anything about Gears having the same environment.
