Star Ocean 4 coming to PlayStation 3 after all?

During Microsoft's E3 Keynote today one thing which stood out was that Star Ocean 4 didn't carry the heading stating it was a timed or full exclusive on Xbox 360 whereas The Last Remnent and Infinate Undiscovery did. Now this does suggest that Star Ocean 4 isn't an Xbox 360 exclusive after all. However for now class this as a rumor, until official word is given.

I would've been happy if it was and Sony having Final Fantasy XIII to be exclusive to them. With all these multiplatform games it seems there will be very little exclusives.

If these games (IU, Last Remnant and Star Ocean 4) sell too less on the 360 (i.e. Square Enix don't make enough money). Maybe it'll make them think twice before putting FF13 on the 360 (although this is the game that will most likely sell the most on all the consoles).

Doesnt matter what the sells are on the other game FF13 will be on the 360 its a done deal. As for the topic I'd say that it be likely that they will port it in japan to the ps3 and it will stay exclsuive in that states and uk

it wont be any different, because all the other chip makers will be going along those lines and all devs will be sound with it.

i'll quote myself from another news section here

"could you not then be able to double the amount of spe, for let's say a ps4 and still have the same code you used on ps3 games and it wouldn't need much if any reworking, allowing for much quicker development time.

Only that it was coming out on Xbox 360. Square-Enix's goal is to maximize profitability, so it's pretty obvious it'll come out on PS3 eventually.

I noticed Infinite Undiscovery was branded exclusive.. Right after that they showed Star Ocean 4 as coming to 360 in 09 If it were exclusive why not say so just like Infinite Undiscovery.

I would have to think Star Ocean 4 will be on PS3 as well. Star Ocean 3 was on ps2. Squeenix is a dirty whor3 I still got love for them though.

Your right. It has not been announced as exclusive. Yet Square-Enix still have not decided if they want to waste time and money porting it to the PS3.

I you want the full experience of Star Ocean, Final Fantasy and many more RPG's buy a 360.

If you like choppy framerates, screen tearing, substandard ports, mandatory installs, buy a PS3.

The 360 is the greatest console of all time!

I understand that this is something Sony should have NEVER EVER let happen, but what do we as gamers really care for. People on the 360 will get to play the game and so will you ...

If you're only concern for this game is because of the console warz, then take some solace in knowing that its still exclusive in Japan, where it matters most for such a game.

The only really upsetting this about this whole debacle is, that the game might suffer from the need to have it ported. It also might get delayed while we wait for the port. It also shows that Sony isn't interested in sealing exclusives for their fans. The last one being the most upsetting.

Either way ... you still get to play the game. Nothing's changed there.

I admit that I am a SOny fanboy and that's why the announcement made me really sad. I can honestly say that it's only about pride since I can still play FF13. But just think of this way, what will you feel if the star player of your favorite basketball, baseball or football team just decided to go play on the other team.
