EA Says Infinity Ward Is Welcome To Copy Us

Battlefield: BAD COMPANY 2 is picking up alot of momentum and recognition in the game industry since the release of part one.

Since competition makes for better games it seems like Infinity Ward has now met it's match.

There's things going on in Bad Company 2 that's not present in Modern Warfare and one of these features is based on the online activity that EA is bringing to Bad Company 2.

In my opinion BC is better fun online than COD cause theres so much freedom with the way the maps are layed out and theres so much crazy sh*t you can do in it.

Call in a helicopter in COD4 to get you some free kills while your probably dead? Nah id rather drive the helicopter myself into the enemy base and parachute out throwing grenades and shotting at what i could, lol i would probably get killed but its way more fun.

MW2 is all about urban warfare that's why you got the small maps ,with lots of house and places to hide .URBAN WARFARE
WHILE
BAD COMPANY 2 is a full fledged war zone ,tht why u got vehicles,destructible environments, big maps and chaos because it's all about putting you in a WARZONE.

Fully usable vehicles meant maps on the whole where larger. Absolutely hated the small maps that had no vehicles or not tank and copter.

The larger maps also gave more time and options to achieve game objectives.

DICE now just needs to abandon the BC characters for more serious/cooler guys/gals and work on a slick, fun SP mode....as well as bring in more MP modes such as Last man, TDM and capture the flag/intel/prototype.

On the official forums, it's been confirmed that every media on BFBC2 we've seen was from the 360 version (apparently, the PC version is not running at full steam yet) - even the trailers, which were confirmed to be running on a juiced up 360 version with AA and all that.

More like met it's maker. Battlefield defined modern warfare back in what, 2005? It took IW 2 years to figure that out. Don't get me wrong, I love CoD4 but MW2 seems like a step backwards in the franchise.

Since they are TWO DIFFERENT GAMES it doesn't hurt to just get both. They are quite different in terms of game play enough so that it doesn't feel the same switching from one to the other. Despite the recent comments from IW and Activision, MW2 is still going to be kick @$$. I'm getting both.

I've been watching alot of SP and MP gameplay on Justin.tv.

MW2 is still a very good game and an improvement over CoD4 on a whole. Just not a huge leap forward.

But after enjoying BC1 and Warhawk, can't be bothered with confined urban warfare with no vehicles and countless respawns.

I'm a huge fan of both Call of Duty and Battlefield...

...but what you guys are doing is just pathetic.

I can't believe you're all ganging up on Infinity Ward just because they got popular all of a sudden.

I call it the Fall Out Boy affect. As soon as FOB got big, most of their fanbase left them because they were "too cool" to be listening to a band that got popular.

Obviously, it's happened before...that's just the one that's stood out most in my mind.

EDIT: Great responses. I still play BF2 religiously! The thing is...DICE has yet to show us they can make an outstanding single-player campaign as well as multi-player. The campaign in BFBC was pretty funny...but lacked depth. Of course, the same could be said of Monty Python and the Holy Grail. Lols...one of the greatest movies of all-time, no?

IW is hated because they broke away from the norm because they think "it's better for the industry."

1. No dedicated servers = no COMMUNITY mods, maps, expansions, etc.
2. Price hike "just because we can" - FVCK THAT
3. No resets whereas others will be ranked = Just shows that don't give a sh!t what people think.

The SP in BC1 was average. It didn't have the cool, epic moments of MW, due mainly to it's story premise. DICE needs to abandon the BC premise for something more serious.

Also, IW shows you don't need characters for a decent SP but if you are going to have them, don't make them stereotypes: token loud mouth black, the nerd, the red-neck clown, and the normal main character - whatever his name is.

I really don't like the weightless feeling you get when moving around on COD. I like the weighted down feeling in Battlefield. It's not too heavy so that you feel too bulky but you also don't feel like a naked guy with a gun.

Using things like nukes, choppers, planes, makes it MUCH more then your avg Urban combat haha

BFBC2 With Dedicated servers (i remember in BF2) where Admins can mod a server, you can have it INF only, and if someone used a jeep, you'd get kicked/banned for using it (ahh the love freedom for YOUR dedicated server)

So even tho BFBCII can do more, you can still place them in the same catagory for Urban combat, in which BFBCII is still better.
