Ballad of Gay Tony is the Last Piece for Rockstar Games - No More Content for GTAIV

Xbox Evolved writes:
Speaking to GTTV this week, Rockstar's VP of Product Development Jeronimo Barrera said that the upcoming DLC for Grand Theft Auto IV - Ballad of Gay Tony - is indeed the last piece of content for GTAIV. Barrera said, "This is it," and that they are, "Calling it quits," and, "Time we move on."

1.2 - yes indeed
gta IV was\is one of the best games in this gen, countless hours of fun in gta, also TLAD is good, good times with tlad

the ballad of gay tony looks really epic, cause if you take gta 4's gfx, physics immersion and combine it with new gameplay\activities\story\vice city like humor, you'll have a well deserved winner and its name is the ballad of gay tony

characters look awesome, tony prince is a cool dude, yusuf amir is full of personality(hahah,im arab btw :),the main characters looks rough, honest and likable, some also some cool new soundtracks

I really cannot wait for TBOGT,october 29th come fast damnit,it will be released the next next thursday

1.3 - I personally think that once the 360 version of the games are released, at some point......
The PS3 version is going to get announced. I mean, it is GTA afterall.

It's just the way things work this gen. *shrug*

Didn't some analyst say there would be more DLC coming? I guess Pachter was right, maybe GTAV is around the corner.

It just seems so sad that millions of gamers will never get the full experience due to "business"

Seems criminal almost.

It would be nice if the episodes were eventually released on ps3, maybe the fact that they were previously unavailable would cause hype and big sales

2.1 - Millions of gamers on 360 won't either...
Millions of gamers with a 360 won't be able to enjoy the full experience either, since a lot sold this game and could care less about it anymore.

....you know that makes no sense right? 360 gamers will always be able to enjoy the full experience. He's saying PC/PS3 owners CANT becuase it will NEVER (maybe?) be made for those systems.

Because they sold the game or dont care about it doesnt mean they won't be able to enjoy the full experience.....seriously, wtf?

Even if they sold it, theres Episodes from Liberty city which doesnt require GTAIV and has both Lost and Damned and Gay Tony on one disc

2.3 - Worded it wrong...
You're right, I should have said millions of 360 owners WON'T get the full experience as opposed to "won't be able to".

It'll end up on the PS3, I think the PC already has everything probably some extras the 360 doesn't have.

Seeing as you can play GTAIV at 4000x2020 or TureHD2 Res.

I would say that R* probably won't do a deal again on GTA products with MS as it screwed their product and company name/brand more than what it ever did for MS or the 360.

Anyway, GTAV probably won't be out for a long whilke as R* are currently making another GTA type game but only for PS3.

i would have loved to play the expansions .... .as the die hard GTA fan that I am / (was) ... i dont care too much no more ... im enjoying all the mods on the PC version ... cant wait for a decent total conversion tho.

I respect MS business aslong as it makes them more money than doing otherwise ... not that i care ... i just know that if i was a business i would be doing similair things ... yea id keep the gamer at heart but id keep my money at stomache so to speak

I know. There were reports that there were more DLC expansions on the way. A Rockstar representative was even quoted by some analyst as saying as much.

gta iv was/is a scam. they release an ok game & sell/make millions because it's gta. before this, they make a deal for big money with MS to make even more. next up, release the first part of dlc, more money. make the second part, even more money. combine them both onto one disc for retail sale, even more money. the last piece of the puzzle we can expect is for the dlc to be released on ps3 spring 2010. gta iv will then be done for r*.

what they could have done, but they wouldn't have made near as much money, is release the next step up from san andreas. not only would they not be able to make as much money by doing this, how many ideas would they be able to fork out after this? i see the next gta as having the entire engine "enhanced", all the stuff from iv's dlc, some other san andreas stuff, & we're done. not without leaving plenty of room for more crap that should've been done in gta iv.

don't even know if that makes sense..just feel like ranting about how gta iv was NOT the game it should've been.

I really enjoyed GTA4, as did a lot of people. I love San Andreas as well and Vice City is my personal favourite of the series, but that doesn't stop me liking GTA4.

GTA4 wasn't a scam because although plenty of people whined about it a hell of a lot more people enjoyed it and are still enjoying it.

I don't think it was a "scam," it was just missing some gameplay elements from previous GTAs for some reason. I mean, if you take San Andreas and give it a next-gen polish, it should be better.. but they went a slightly different route.

The next GTA (not DLC though) will probably make up for it though. In a franchise that is successful year after year, it usually takes a bad year or two for the franchise to take it's next leap forward (cause you gotta get the haters back on your side).

I know many PS3 owners were annoyed by not getting DLC. I myself would have bought DLC for GTA4 if available for the PS3, but the reality is after a very short period of time, I move on to whatever the next cool game is & forget about the old ones. I wouldn;t even be interested in DLC for this game now, because it is in the "old" pile of games I have.

8 - Same game but with new furniture, fresh coat of paint.. oh and homos.
Meh, GTA was, and will remain one of the premier flagship titles in gaming history; I'm speaking not of any particular entry in the series, rather the series as a whole.

That being said, gta has - been since been since been - milked dry and the concept - drilled face first into the ground. Not hating, just stating the obviousness of the series repetitive nature, no matter how shiny the new coat of paint is with gta4. (Yes, i realize if a franchise makes money by the boat load like gta that they will keep releasing titles.. but still; doggy learn a new trick already.)

I personally am happy that rockstar is done with dlc for IV, because rockstar is a creative punk rocker of a development company and I am far more interested in what they have planned next, as opposed to looking forward the more of the same from the gta4 universe (even if it is decent content).

9 - This DLC won't sell as well.
It lacks the cool factor that is crucial for positive word of mouth. It's hard to look cool and say "I like the Ballad of Gay Tony".

I bet it sells the same if not better than TLAD.

Maybe the word gay bothers you for "some reason" making the game "uncool" to you but I doubt the majority feel that way.
