Bethesda's lawyers use the Fallout Wiki
5
I knew that Bethesda developers were using The Vault wiki as a source when working on Fallout 3. As it turns out, their legal department also does! Shacknews has a few more details about the Bethesda v. Interplay case, and their article includes a few quotes from the actual court filings, which in turn include at least one obvious paraphrase from the wiki.

1 - Wiki What
Wiki is not allowed to be used for term papers, how do lawyers think this can be supported in a court of law?

Because wikipedia is a source, but not an ACADEMIC source - which all academic papers require. Lawyers don't need academic sources, they just need to get facts - or often enough, something that resembles a fact. I frequently use wikipedia for info in my job because I'm looking for some pretty quick and dirty information. Citing it in a term paper is a completely different story.
Plus they info they grabbed was pretty inconsequential to the case. It is just background info.

Well, that doesnt mean you cant use it in a term paper. I had to do something on the economy of China and every little detail I needed was right there on Wikipedia listed with bullets. It was great.

Bethesda playing hardball :(
I like Bethesda and all but I'd like to see how an Interplay Fallout MMO would play like. Bethesda still can make as many single player Fallout games as they would like. This would be Interplays last hurrah with their baby

I disagree PS360Wii.
When you promise to do something, you must honor it, unless an act of god/nature stops your progress. Bethesda has the right and Interplay dropped the ball. But using the wiki for a source of information is not wise.
