Rare's Unannounced Project: Microsoft's Surprise Reveal for Comic-Con?

Split-screen: "Remember Microsoft's announcement about showing off an 'exciting unannounced project' at Comic-Con on July 23rd? Even though Microsoft technically owns Killer Instinct, they haven't really published any KI games for Rare, right? If we go by it literally then of the existing franchises on the 360, Perfect Dark and Kameo would be the most logical (Banjo-Kazooie already had it's time in the sun, as stated in the article). Then again, MS/Rare could pull a surprise out of it's hat yet.

Lots of shooters,and some fighters out there...But where are the platformers? A act/adv/platformer like " * Conker *" would be my choice...

Rare are probably working on 4 projects. All with some tie into Natal.I am sure one is mini game casuals based...

KI3 and PD2 would be the biggest money makers for them IMO. But if they come out with a Conker,or proper Banjo platformer,or a Kameo 2 act/adv,done with full force,and Microsofts backing it could do very well still.

Rare need to go all out,no "settling",look to innovate,and advance,bring in some new game mechanic,think big,raise the bar,not just settle for "good enough"...

My quess would be PD2,KI3,A casual mini game,and either Conker or Kameo 2....

My wish list would Conker,A proper banjo platformer,kameo 2 and a new cart racer,but I am not holding my breath....

I think Rare is best at quirky toon based games,leave the shooters and fighters to other devs...

Do you know this for sure? I always wondered if the Nintendo had any rights to the KI series because they were in Nintendo cabinets in the arcade. I would flip if a Killer Instinct game was announced for the 360. It is my top 3 favorite fighting series.

Blue Dragon 2 from Mistwalker would fit very-well with the audience.

Personally, I'm holding out hope for Kameo 2 or a new Conker (I would suggest would also work well with this audience).

2.1 - Rare's doing terrific work -- play the games!

Viva Pinata, Kameo and PDZ were all *very* well recieved. Banjo Kazooie N&B -- which got good reviews and sales, just not "massive hit" level -- was a very good title.

Really, If your not playing Rare's games, your missing out. The issue is (IMO) Rare's "target audience" skews a little younger, and the "core gamer" is solidly behind titles like L4D, ME, Halo and other massive hits.

Rare's doing terrific work -- play the games!

Tests Multi player. He was playing it over a year ago when he told me about it. The game had plenty of blank place holders and they did not see the game's art just rough character builds. He said the scale of the battles were epic and the animations and physics were great with a high number of players in matches thats all he said.

Perfect Dark 2 will only be great if its like the original, Perfect Dark Zero was garbage. The cartoony graphics, mediocre gameplay and lack of polish really ruined it for me eventhough the first is an all time classic. The only positive thing I could say about PD Zero is that it had bots.

Whats happened to Rare? Did they lose a lot of their best team members? Just look at Zero, Kameo and the new Banjo and tell me there's not a huge drop in overall quality.
They really need to go back to their roots, even a new Jet Force Gemini has tons of potential.

I just hope their next game turns out to be worth the wait, whatever it is.

Perfect dark Zero was a rushed launch title. It has been known for years developers had no time to learn the 360 hardware because of the early console launch and a general lack of multi core knowhow did not help. Calm down G

I thought AA games were good games too...actually the next best thing after a AAA game. Like Infamous, Crackdown, Uncharted, Halo Wars, Heavenly Sword, Project Gotham Racing 4.

Actually if you were a true gamer you would know what you like an play it that simple. Not to say those are not good games but to say everyone should like them is an incorrect forced opinion as a statement. We don't all play the same games for the fact that we all have different taste regardless of meta critic or any other site.
