PS3 Fallout 3 DLC is nearly done

Bethesda has told Eurogamer that "finishing touches" are being made to Operation: Anchorage on PS3, but offered no firm release date for the Fallout 3 content. We had been prepared for a late June launch.

Speaking exclusively to Eurogamer, chief spokesperson Pete Hines said getting the DLC (which has already been released on PC and Xbox 360) to work on PS3 takes quite a lot of effort, actually.

1 - Yes... I'm a sucker
I'll be getting the DLC for this as soon as it's available, even though I know I probably shouldn't based on how they've treated PS3 owners...

I just really enjoyed the game, excluding the bugs of course.

It's a tough decision.

You want to not buy it to show them that it's not ok to skip out on PS3 owners.

Yet...

You want to buy it to show support for PS3 DLC, so that in the future they will be more inclined to release the PS3's DLC simultaneously with 360 and PC.

operation anchorage is not as good as the other dlc. for sure the worst of the first 3 dlc.

you should prolly also wait until the broken steel comes out, so you will get exp during the first two dlc (unless your not lvl 20 yet).

i have played the first 3 on xbox and they are all pretty good and worth buying. i havent gotten at the newest dlc yet , but i will as soon as i get the chance.

I am just going to take the high road and buy the content. If we refuse to buy the content because they shafted us, then the only thing they will see is less sales, which will just justify them shafting us.

For anyone who wants the full benefit of content and enjoyment.

Go for Broken Steel and Operation Anchorage. Both give you some real pluses that help you in the wastes. The Pitt is mostly clothing with maybe two new weapons Auto Axe and Infiltrator(silenced assault rifle).

Be sure to be stocked on stimpaks. Broken Steel throws a lot of enemies your way...and they are tough..

I've bought all four so far, Still working my way on Point Lookout.

Just bought Broken Steel dlc because my level is at 18 and getting close to 19 and i'd like to continue leveling up after 20. I have a huge stockpile of weapons at my Megaton home and I also have around 10,000 caps. I'm good to go!

I'm looking forward to it. I think I'll buy each pack as it's released but I'll wait for Broken Steel to play through the content. That'll break up the cost but not waste the exp.

I saw Fallout 3 second hand for PS3 for £12 (about $19 according to XE) today, I was tempted, but I heard that the game was more buggy on PS3 than 360 through PSM3 (my fav and most trusted gaming mag), has this been sorted yet?

On the other hand, the tiny 360 20GB HDD on my 360 limits the space once I download the DLC, then theres installing the game to get less noise from the DVD drive which drives me crazy, but then there's the PS3 which not only takes up space with the DLC but the game install itself.

This isn't a flame, I just find myself wondering what platform I should get it for the best experience and if that offer is a good price, because I'd better snap it up soon. My PC isn't possibly capable of running it either.

PC, mods and official DLC friend. But if your computer is not a gaming PC. Trust your best judgment. I got a 120 GB on my 360 and a majority of my PS3 titles are exclusives. So I can't really say much.

Just trust your gut mate.

I own the PS3 version, the biggest problem was that it used to freeze any time you got a notification until the notification went away, but after the patch it was fine. I mean, Fallout 3 is pretty buggy on all platforms but I don't think you can go wrong with it on any platform. This probably doesn't help at all, but whatever version you pick, you'll enjoy it.

Thanks, I'll probably pick up a copy for PS3, it'll be healthier for my 360's HDD in the long run and the PS3 version is cheaper everywhere (I don't think that the stores have clicked onto the DLC jumping ship yet, in cases like this, the second hand price usually goes up, this immediately happened with the 360's version of GTA when TLaD was announced).
I have games to install to avoid noise and hopefully some nice XBLA titles to get in the future so I could do with the spare space, already getting crowded with about 7 XBLA titles and Mass Effect installed. Curse the Core's 20GB HDD...and the damn price of bigger hard drives.

Thanks for the sensible replies guys. :)

Hey Cajun, I have it on PC and PS3. I've platinum'd it on PS3, and on PC I've played it through and added a slew of mods to improve the game. I'd say at $20 for PS3, definitely pick it up. As was mentioned before, it's a somewhat buggy game no matter what your platform of choice is, but it's also a fun a game. The PS3 version has been patched as PirateThom mentioned, and it's issues with freezing aren't frequent and don't have the initial problem from when it launched. Of course if you do end up with a good PC later on, it's worthwhile to check out all the really cool stuff they've made mods for, and just the same for Oblivion.

It sucks that PS3 owners had to wait to get this DLC. We could have been sharing our experiences with them.... LOL. Anyways, have fun because those DLC's, they were cool. My favorites one were:

1. Broken Steel
2. The pitt
3. Point Lookout
4. Operation Anchorage

Broken Steel was by far the best DLC out of all of them.

The game is glitchy no more than the xbox or pc version imo having played ps3 and xbox they are equally glitchy but man I am going to buy all dlc for my ps3 i literally stopped playing when I leveled to 20 to wait for broken steel dlc to not lose precious xp. i also have about 48000 caps. I love going out and picking up junk to sell in fallout 3 its the main reason why I play it.

At least PS3 owners are getting it, sheesh I'm glad they are too.
Buy it or not you're the only one missing out, stick by your righteous BS and have nothing to enjoy farther on a great title.

Only you lose, holmes.

No kidding...PS3 only owners went through months of complaining that they're treated unfairly by the lack of DLC on fallout. Bethesda answered by offering the DLC...get it, enjoy it, and stop complaining. Refusing to download is only going to hurt the gamers more in the end.

Level? If you are talking about Level cap, Operation Anchorage and The Pitt have no significant affect to your level. Broken Steel raises the level cap from 20 to 30 and adds new perks. I hope thats what your talking about. :]

Well you do get cool weapons and armour when you finish Operation Anchorage. (Minor Spoiler) At the end of OA you get the Guass Rifle, Winterized T-51B, and I believe you get the Chinese Stealth Armour. Which is a very cool armour by the way because when you crouch, you become invisible.
