I like this text from other StarDrone review:
"Virtually every PSN title I have ever reviewed before could be summed up roughly by saying, “It’s a bit like [insert other well-know game here]” but I certainly can’t say the same for Stardrone."
This is so true about StarDrone: it is new fresh gameplay mix of Sonic the Hedgehog meets interactive pinball/breakquest gameplay with a some touch of Flow game.
The game is about touch and light stars in the deep space full of evil g-noids aliens.
The battlefield is 50 space mazes, some are easy some are damn hard, especially if you feel real hardcore and set your game speed to the maximum! The scores you get is depends on game speed so you want to finish levels on max speed to get higher scores. There are 3 types of levels: some you need just pass as fast as possible, on other you have to collect the puzzle pieces and deploy them to the spot, on some levels you have to kill all enemies by touching them while in CometRush mode which you get when light-up enough stars.
Game have 2 options for controls: DualShock 3 and if you lucky to have PlayStation Move motion controller, you have really new experience. I found Move controls more precise, so i recommend use it. Would be nice to ask developers to actually see the leaderboards who playing with move and who with dualshock to compare the scores.
The game has standard leaderboards in main menu with 3 filters: overall, friends and your score, which shows where you at the records table. But the most interesting that every level las its own scoreboard but filtered with friends which makes some sort of social-games-competition where you can see the your friends scores on each level and can virtually compete.
As resume: The StarDrone is very PS3 game which you have to try, especially if you have Move motion controller.
Gamesta.com has a new indie deal. the latest Bundle Stars has ten more games for a pay-what-you-want model, or at least half that idea. Games like Still Life, Chrome, Crash Time and more are up for grabs.
The GigaBoots crew checks out the puzzle game Stardrone. Similar to Rotastic but actually good, Stardrone is game wherein the player flings around a space ship to gather objects and build up combos while avoiding danger. It’s fun stuff. Check out this Quick Play today!
The second part of coverage, reviews, and previews of the many finalists from this years IndieCade.
I wish I wasn't sick with the flu. I really wanted to go to IndieCade :(
On topic: Hero Generations and Star Drone look great! Honestly all of those games look good.
