Most people will see the title and say "What about Warhawk? Come on really?" And my answer? "Yes, it is better than Warhawk."
First of all. this game is weird looking. I passed on it at first, thinking it was, well, shit. I was so shocked to find that it is the best game I have played in a very, very long time, especially since it only cost 10 bucks.
Each level brings new challenges, and these are done very well. Not so much to the point that it is a kick in the balls because the difficulty level suddenly jumped or something, instead each level looks to you to rise to the new challenge and to find your way through, usually after several unsuccessful attempts.
This repetition may sound frustrating but in fact, it is simply addictive. With each try you learn more of what works to conquer the attacking waves of baddies. This game will have you glued to your tv for a long time.
The art looks unusual and may not appeal to all gamers but this uniqueness soon grows on you and soon you will find yourself drawn into the game.
As I said, the game play is excellent. It is simple to pick up and the game mechanics are set up nicely.
It is a lot like Desktop Tower Defense but with deeper and better game play.
But make no mistake, this is no kiddy game. This game will make you think and rethink your strategy and it does an excellent job of making each level a fresh challenge for you. Each level will try you with a new and subtle difference but don't be over-confident, each of these little differences add up to make important differences in your plan to defend your tribe from the attacking swarms of monsters.
I first passed on this game because it's art style did not immediately appeal to me but that was a mistake and now that I have discovered what a fun and challenging game this is, I only wish I had downloaded it sooner so that I could have had that much more time already with a great, great game.
This truly is a must have game. Download it now!

Nintendo has just revealed on their website that PixelJunk Monsters will be coming to the Wii U via the eShop tomorrow.
Wow that is unexpected for such an old, but good game. First time the game has been on a console that wasn't Sony.

If you know anything about Q-Games, you know that we made a name for ourselves during the PlayStation 3 era with our acclaimed PixelJunk series. Debuting way back in 2007, we were one of the first indies to cut our teeth on the newly released console. Our idea for the series was simple: rework old school gaming concepts in beautiful high-definition visuals, while keeping the easy to learn, difficult to master gameplay that made us fall in love with games in the first place.
