I remember it like yesterday, when Just Cause came out first.
I had just played through Mercenaries for the second time and felt like I would never ever experience such a fun gameplay in a sandbox military game(which I didn't).
I put the disc inside my PS2 system and started the game.
The only thing I remember from the days playing the game was me, wondering: Man was mercenaries ever this awful if it was an imitation of Just Cause?
The game was bad, and it still received good words.
This time around when Mercenaries 2 was announced I was like hell yeah, which lasted a long time, before I finished the game and still felt like man, that was fun, not as fun as Mercenaries but still good.
Then Just Cause 2 came out, and man if the praises weren't as high as ever.
There was even articles about this game saying it is better than "the X game", a game from last gen that was praised for everything it had.
I just again thought that this must be good.
I mean come on, a huge world, a military sandbox and pics showed good graphics.
I was ready for playing it, well I shouldn't have been.
I don't know if you guys know what is the difference between Mercenaries and Just Cause, but I will tell you.
The soul, even though Mercenaries 2 wasn't as fun as Mercenaries it had the soul, it was about the soul.
A copy can never copy the soul even if it tries hard.
The gameplay has a bunch of extra things that Mercenaries never had, just to say we are original, which are just stupid and useless.
The Graphic isn't bad but I read the name SquareEnix and expect very good graphics, well, doesn't matter since there was a whole bunch of other things to think about, like the huge world, it was beautifully green and fresh, but it didn't help the soul.
Even though I played through the game, but I felt cheated again, it is just a copy, and that is sad.
The story is like most of other sandbox games including Mercenaries, you are after a dude, and you kill a bunch of people and destroy a whole lot of crap to get to the dude and things like that.
Sounds are not bad, they made an ok work on them, but voice acting wasn't very good.
Music was like almost nowhere to be found.
In overall the game is pretty much ok for a weekend, but nothing more.
It just isn't really that fun or anything.
kane_1371....out!
These are the worst guns in video games. Unlike weapons that are useful and practical, these only take up space in your inventory.
Being a completionist can be fun, but some games are more like chores than fun. Here are the worst games to 100% complete.
The Yakuza Games
Haha, yeah, currently over 100 hours into Yakuza 0. Considering going for 100% and well on the way but may not get there. Cat Fights are a real chore.
Dead rising was the worst one I’ve ever tried. I haven’t tried it with the modern console “rest mode” but the 360 didn’t have that.
Was GTa4 the on where you had to collect a shit ton of pigeons around the map and there was no help in finding them?
One of the more recent games I got a Platinum in was Killzone: Mercenary for Vita. What a crap game, that requires so much terrible grinding.
Awful game, awful experience.
I can vouch for Just Cause 2. It was the reason I quit achievement hunting. 86 hours in, the game bugged on me during one of the last side quests (it failed no matter what I did) and my save file got corrupted. Wiped it off my drive and never looked back.
A look back at some of the most iconic moments of horror from non-horror video games.
Has anyone ever noticed that in just cause 1, Sully looks and sounds the same as in Uncharted? I guess the old boy gets around.
This review is horrible. Doesn't give much info on the game. I would give JC2 an 8.5/10 at least. This game has lots to offer, great easter eggs, good graphics, lots of sandbox activities etc.. Although the story is mediocre. You could of atleast went into detail. Your opinion i guess.
Harsh. I loved it.
But a 7 to me is an 8 for most people.
I have to say, Kane's review is a 3 though.
Soul? What does that even mean?
Mercs was good, but not as good as JC2.
