4 Euro game. Can it be good?

Hyperballoid HD is a nice arkanoid-style game. When I said nice I really meant "easy to play and quite addictive". Look, I started playing Hyperballoid in Saturday evening and spent few hours (finished about 20 first levels). I just can't stop. Game captures you from the first level and keeps on the edge of your seat until the very end.

Among the game's visual appeal and well-designed sound track there are the physics, which allow the ball and bricks to act in a realistic manner. In addition, levels can transform before your very eyes, creating an unparalleled level of dynamic gameplay.

All game is 2D but so it's not a surprise that game runs smoothly in 1080p and special visual effects are very smooth.

The game contains no violence and doesn't provoke aggression :) so even kids can play it. My 7yo daughter plays game now and she seems to be liked it.

The gameplay is very casual. In a good way I meant. It something that can be described "easy to start, hard to master". Player of any skill can start playing this game expecting relaxing 20mins soon-to-be-forgotten experience. However at some point the game will offer a challenge that will take more attention, and beating another level will be more rewarding, and next trophey is soon to come, etc.... In few hours you will find yourself glued to the screen can't stop playing that.

The only minor issue is luck of multiplayer, but very reasonable game price (4 Eur) makes it game a steal.
If developers will add multiplayer (with addon or patch) that would be just awesome.

P.S. I finished the game is 5 or 6 hours. Got all trophys except two last. That was very easy in fact

I was thinking of getting this to go along with Shatter and when Breakquest gets patched for PS3. Not sure if it seems worth it now, I'll have a look in, I wish more PSN games had demos.

The ArmChair Empire: Hyperballoid HD Review

The ArmChair Empire: Such a simple concept for a game: bounce a sphere off a paddle into “bricks” with the goal being to entirely clear the level of each and every last one. First with Breakout and even more so with Arakanoid, it became known as the brick-breaker game, relatively popular in the early, early days of gaming in the 1970s and 1980s.

Gamer 2.0 Review: Hyperballoid HD

Gamer 2.0 writes: "With a number of games with twists to the brick-breaking formula having appeared on PSN in the past year, it’s surprising to see that nothing more traditional has been released on PSN in the last three years. Hyperballoid HD is the new PS3 iteration of a PC line of Arkanoid clones from Alawar Entertainment, which offers about 100 new levels for just $4.99. While the game is cheap, it does come with some unfortunate issues that keep it from being a perfect purchase for a cheap price."
