Ok first off I know DOA 4 has been around since time began. The other day I was looking for some original Xbox or early 360 games in a well known used gaming store. I came across three games that I used to play and picked them up again for a thrill ride. The first one was Leisure Suit Larry on xbox ,DOA4 and DOA Xtreme Beach Vollyball 2 on the 360.Even today with all the so called nudity in newer games Larry Suit would probably get an a/o rating. That game is just insane ,funny and fun. There isn't much else to say about Larry except if you haven't played the game you won't find that kind of game being made today on any system.
Now the DOA series has always been popular. First off it was and still is a great fighting game. DOA4 still looks and plays great some 5 years later. Yes we all know about the boobs and cutscenes. There was alot of whining about it back in 2005 and 2006. The funny thing is if you played Soul Caliber 4, Ivy has more boob motion that all of the DOA girls put together and it was a teen rated game. But that aside Doa 4 still holds up to any fight game out there. Where are the one against one fight games? They are not being made today. Another Mortal Crapbat is coming out soon and I hope it isn't crap like the last few have been. I used to love the Mortal series.
Team Ninja was behind the DOA4 and Extreme Vollyball series. The graphics are as good as many games made today. Now before you dog out Extreme vollyball don't act like you didnt play it or wanted to. It's a fun game and very casual. Yes it's all DOA girls and they are almost naked, So what! Again it's fun to laugh at and play too.
These are games where the whole game is mature and not just a nude scene like games today. It's hard not to talk about those scenes in these games because that's what people will bring up but the fact is go out and revisit these games and remember how fun and well made xbox games have been from day one. Now where is DOA 5 ? and it better be mature and as good as DOA 4. Hell I'll even buy Extreme vollyball 3 if that was made. Peace
OX writes: " Ideally, the end of a game delivers a satisfying last bout of gameplay and wraps up the narrative. On occasion, though, a finale is so left field that they could be having Coachella in the right field and you wouldn't notice. Take these bizarre endings, for instance. "
It must be hard enough making just a handful of endings for your game, just look at how badly Mass Effect 3 stuffed it up. With fighting games boasting rosters of up to 40 characters, all of whom need their own little arc to string together the beatings, that's a lot of endings to write. Perhaps that's why fighting game ending sequences are so frequently completely, unashamedly mental. Here are the seven weirdest.
IM PLAYIN continues its series of fail related articles by looking at fighting games, and how badly they suck at them.
"There are no games that require nearly as much practice to master than a fighting game. There are always several characters to use that possess countless move combinations, and deep systems that will take countless hours to master. On the one hand, I get endless hours of enjoyment watching people play these games: watching people who have mastered these games throw down is awesome. But on the other hand, I absolutely suck at them. However, at the same time I can’t get enough. Here’s my story of my attempts at mastering fighting games, and also what I’ve learned from each failure."
Originally a PSX and Dreamcast game though.
a button mashing fighting game thats all offense with no defense expolits abound and sex as it's main selling is still one of the best fighters around?
doa4 was a trash fighter with no depth a (pro player could lose to a kid who button mashed) all wraped up in great presentation.
sorry but i've played action/adventure games with better and more deep combat system then doa4.
this fighter only appeals to causal in the genre.
DOA started on the Arcades ported to the Saturn and then the PSX
Thanks for the Review :)
