Call of Duty 4 being the second installment of the COD series on the PS3 leave the WW2 scene and centres around modern warefare. It certainly improves over the previous game as as modern warefare is a welcomed change from the over-done WW2 theme all the others have done to death.
Focused around modern afairs with the politics removed you play as the SAS and U.S. Marine Crorp in both the middle east and Russia. The gameplay in the game is both addictive and works well. For the SAS missions you are deep behind enemy lines taking out certian individuals. On one level you go back in time to when you're CO was in your shoes to take out war lord.
While playing as the U.S. Marines you are part of a large task force sent in to sort out volitile regions in the Middle East much like the current war in Iraq. There you storm many rooms as well as TV broadcasting bulidings and helping aid a damaged Abrams tank to get to safety.
The graphics are top notch. A far greater improvement over the previous installments with a super high frame rate to boot too. Another plus point is that both the PS3 and 360 are indentical in terms of looks and performance.
The sound of all the guns are realistic as are all the explosions and bullets that "ping" and "snap" as they fly over your head or hit your surroundings. The ambient and with the music too makes the world feel real and the game all the more better.
The online area of the game is one if biggest parts of COD4. Whereas the singleplayer has a good storyline and replayability (with secret laptops to find to unlock cheats) the multiplayer has challenges to help you unlock perks and addons for your weapons. There is also splitscreen and LAN play for when your buddies come over to play but the only downside is the lack of bots to play against.
To sum up, COD4 is one of the very good multiplat games that has both a fantastic single and multiplayer modes. The challenges and gameplay are enough to keep any FPS fan hooked for months.
The original Modern Warfare and Modern Warfare 2 games have been drawing players back in
I really hope we get other activision games on GP soon. My dream would be Scarface but I know the license probably expired
None of those games had dedicated servers on console in the first place? Were always player hosted. Did something change?
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is getting a new update today, which will introduce Gunsmith Customs.
NoobFeed writes - Shooting, a basic mechanic used in a variety of games for decades. And it's still fun but only some developers can create an experience where shooting a weapon for hours can remain entertaining. Here is NoobFeed's best shooter of 2019.
The Division 2? This is gotta be satire. I'm a huge fan of the series but the division 2 deserved no awards, especially best shooter. NEVER GO FULL RETARD
Very well done. If I didn't have the game already a review like this may justify my purchase.
