User Review : Back to the Future Episode 2: Get Tannen

Ups
  • Great story
  • Excellent voice acting
  • Sequel to the series
Downs
  • Odd camera angles
  • Lots of sound glitches
  • Bad graphics

Episode 2 as good as 1?

The first episode was charming, fun and full of glitches and odd camera angles. Episode 2 has all the problems from the first game, yet it does spice things up a bit.

Story: In episode 2, Marty and Doc go back to the present only to discover that they messed up when they went back in time. In this episode, they have to go back and correct what they did wrong. The time period is again 1931, and your back to the point in which you started the first episode. It adds a bit of variety to the game when you have to avoid yourself ( sounds weird right?), but its only for a time or two. Its also pretty cool getting to see Doc when he was Marty's age.

Gameplay: Exact same as episode 1. Almost literally. They did nothing to improve on any of the problems of the first game. Your even in the exact same place, in the exact same time period as you were in the 1st episode. Fortunatley there are more action sequences, and their are more scenes that will have you on edge, so this game does do a good job at making this a more fun experience.

(Graphics are same throughout series, see episode 1 review for graphics)

Difficulty: Episode 2's puzzle are a little more complex compared to the ones of the first episode. The puzzles are mostly easy but a few of them may require a hint or two if your not really a puzzle solver. Remember, this game is more about the story than the actual puzzles.

Fun Factor: There are more scenes that involve more action than in episode 1, so you'll enjoy this episode much more than the previous. The game will take you about 1.5 to 3 hours to complete.

I love this game, but the graphics are very bad.

Sound
Voice acting is great, but the game is filled with sound glitches.

Gameplay
very fun, if not intelligent point and click game.
7.5
Fun Factor
I'll give this a 7.5 because it really depends on the player. If you are a fan of the series (ME!) then you will love it. If you've never watched them, you'll just play it for the trophies and mildly intriguing story.

GamesEyeView - Back to the Future: The Review

GEV says: Who hasn’t ever wanted to go back in time? You could see all sorts of awesome things. The signing of the Declaration of Independence, the day the iPod was invented, or how your parents grew up. If you’re going to do it, you might as well do it in a Delorean though…There’s something very familiar about all this. Great Scott! Readers! You have to come back with us! Back to the Future, the Review!

Today we're covering some interesting movie and game licenses that you might not have considered before. Today we're covering entries 6 through 10 accompanied with some honorable mentions of course."

Back to the Future would be perfect. Lord of the Rings is my second choice! How is that only a honorable mention?

I like the Back to the Future idea, but there are already TOO many LOTR games. Surely more to come with the Hobbit movie.

Lego Saw, hopefully it'll be better then the movies

PSPenguin: Back to the Future Episode Two: Get Tannen Review

PSPenguin: "Get Tannen is not only shorter but it’s also much easier than It’s About Time. The puzzles and solutions are still very creative and work well in the scheme of things but there’s never any real challenge presented here. Even in the one or two puzzles that gave me just a tiny bit of trouble the hint system is still all too easy to exploit with very little gratification coming from solving any puzzle in the game. I do feel that most of the puzzles this time around are far better I just wish they were harder to solve."
