Choice in gaming, Do we really have one?
16 hours ago | by: Jinxstar
Ok so it's about that time I went off on a rant again. I wanted to discuss "choices" in games. Do we really have any? How much freedom do we really have? How much do gamers really want?
I look at a lot of interviews and follow a lot of games and developers who are always pushing the bounds. I will only talk about games I have played and know something about.
I was recently watching a ...

Being too hard on Call of Juarez: BiB?
16 hours ago | by: jamenees
As a fairly avid gamer and someone who enjoys scouring the internet and my local gamestop for news of upcoming games. I noticed a few days ago that of the 5 different websites I visited on videogames, 3 of them had adspace for the new Call of Juarez game.
That was my first hunch to maybe purchase it.
I visited Gamestop where an employee there told me he 'loved the new Call of Juarez' ...

Was The Conduit Wii's Halo? [Final Verdict]
2 days 13 hours ago | by: Shnazzyone
Almost 6 months ago I wrote an article asking the question “Can Conduit be Wii’s Halo?” Well in this entry I hope to answer that question. In the end did the “definitive” FPS for Wii meet the promises made by HVS? Perhaps not entirely but it is a great base to make a new IP that is Wii exclusive.
In this Blog I will cover all my points from t...

Why PS3+PC is better than PS3+360.
3 days 7 hours ago | by: Coolrah
Ok I am gonna cut to the chase and make this blog quick and simple. 360 has alot of exclusives and so does the ps3....BUT there is a key difference. You can't get KZ2, Infamous,MSG4,Resistance 2,LBP, and thats just to name a few. With 360 you can get Majority of its exclusive games on the PC and there cheaper and better in more than the graphical department where they have more content and are ...

The question.
3 days 16 hours ago | by: LostDjinn
Another day at N4G. Another fan based flamewar. While some of the tactics implemented are amusing, most are just pathetic. You people know who you are. Anyway, I digress. The reason for this blog is to ask a question. The way I see it, the three big console companies all took different approaches this gen.
Nintendo went for engaging the player by introducing motion control as standard. It ...

The iPhone is dominant despite not being a good "phone".
4 days 3 hours ago | by: unicronic
So June 2007 was the historic launch of the Apple iPhone. A phone that carried with it a wave a euphoria and desire that possible no phone in history has managed to create.
Apple have always, in recent years, carried a image of being the Ferrari or the Gordon Ramsey of their respective industry. Overpriced but dripping in quality, style and "buy me" sensations.
I own an iPhone and lo...

EA Sports - The Decline of a Dynasty
4 days 3 hours ago | by: Raiinstorm81
EA Sports used to be one of my favorite video game developers. With hits like Madden, NBA Live, Tiger Woods, FIFA, and Fight Night. The EA company hit it's peak during the PS2/Xbox generation acquiring exclusive licensing for the NFL, NCAA, and ESPN all but guaranteeing the company sports supremacy for years to come. In 2006, EA Sports gave us a peek into the future of sports gaming with target...

Could MAG have the last laugh?
4 days 3 hours ago | by: jfx316
What was the the biggest joke in Sony's E3 press conference last year? MAG. An FPS with 256 players and a terrible name. Game journalists scoffed at it as "another Sony fail." I'll admit that I thought that Zipper would have changed the name by now to SOCOM something. But at this point, if the game turns out the be a success, they can rub it in everyone's face. But I'm getting off track......Ju...

XBL may not be what its worth......PART 2.....
7 days 7 hours ago | by: Coolrah
So I'm back......and E3 brought alot of good surprises for us. Xbox live users will get easier direct access to their facebook and myspace accounts from your xbox live dashboard. Now I know some people are complete drones when it comes to these websites and spend hours upon hours on facebook on myspace and its utterly sad. (Then again where mindless gamer drones so we can't talk) But I digress....

Using My PS3 as a Media Hub for my Living Room: Part II of an Xbox 360 Owner's Impressions
13 days 11 hours ago | by: whengeeksgobad
Previously, I discussed my experiences in fidgeting with my new ps3. You can read about them here.
For those not wanting to read the whole thing, a quick rundown: I'm a mac user with both a ps3 and an xb360 interested in using either console as a media hub for my living room. *I want to stress here that due to limitations of my own setup and preferences, I was unable to...

Where to now for Sony's PS3?
13 days 11 hours ago | by: Gazza22
23rd / March / 2007
This
date may mean absolute zilch for most but for those with a decent
enough memory. This was the day Sony's "Next gen doesn't start till we
say so" PS3 was launched in the land of the long white cloud.
With
only 2 games really worth a mention on release, the PS3 fast became the
laughing stock of the gaming industry. Media and fanboys alike all
jumped ...

Will Playstation 3 Sink or Swim Post Activision
13 days 11 hours ago | by: Bags_BuzzFocus
The latest buzz from Activision is that the company is planning to cut off ties to the Playstation 3 if Sony is unable to make a sizable dent in the gaming market. Activision's claim is that they are losing money on developing games for the PS3 and there aren't enough consumers out there interested in buying games for the console. The Activision CEO even went so far as to demand that Sony cut i...

Digital downloads and Gamestop
13 days 11 hours ago | by: D4RkNIKON
With the rise of digital content in the gaming industry including not only DLC but full retail games on PSN and comming soon XBL, some may question the future of companies such as Gamestop. Some may think that Gamestop is in denial that the gaming industry is being taken over by digital download just as the music and entertainment industry. While digital content continues to have a negative eff...

Tales of a Junkyard Jedi
13 days 11 hours ago | by: Errorz
For a long time I considered not doing this but when I accidentally
stumbled on a guys video on YouTube where he does nothing but talk
about what toys he likes to play with I figured screw it I’m doing this.
A while back I had my gamer score wiped because I didn’t look before
I clicked, it’s a long uninteresting story so we’ll just sidestep it.
Anyway the score loss didn’t bother me ...

The things you do for money... Oh wait! It's trophies now.
13 days 11 hours ago | by: blizzard_cool
Trophies... yes, it's just trophies this time cause I have a special game to discuss:
Little Big Planet
The popular game(PS3 exclusive) with the catchy slogan: Play, Create & Share . You know that you get a trophy if enough people heart you? You know what heart means in LBP, don't you?
It's something people do if they played a level that they like and then give it ...

How did MS win E3 again?
13 days 11 hours ago | by: Tony Scarboni
Here we go again, another year, another E3, and another swarm of biased fanboy articles flooding N4G. As opposed to spamming the news section w/ propaganda, I decided to post this in the blog section, where articles of this nature truly belong.
Now let me just start off by saying I do think that Microsoft won the last 2 E3's, but I can not bring myself to believe that they had the best sh...

The Motion in the Ocean
13 days 11 hours ago | by: Errol James
Microsoft's inFamous strategy of going first proved to
be pretty effective at this years E3. Their vision of the future
involves no controller which kind of trumps the PlayStation's Motion
Controller.
Sony's Motion Controller
doesn't have a catchy name. For the sake of this article,
lets call it the vibrator. The vibrator is cool though because it has
the ability to change into va...

The Mainstream Revolution... Project Natal
13 days 11 hours ago | by: Errol James
"The only experience you need is life experience."
Judging by the
rumored late 2010 release of Project Natal, it's not looking like much
life experience is left for the Xbox 360. Before you know it, GameStop
will no longer accept Xbox 360 games for trade in, and the 360 itself
will be disowned by Microsoft. Hopefully Project Natal goes with it.
The
Nintendo Wii brought this main...

Forget Mario. Where's Link?
13 days 11 hours ago | by: Errol James
Information was leaked today about Nintendo's E3 show. Some of the
information was about a new Wii Fit which I could care less about, but
there was news of a new Mario game due out by the end of the year in Japan.
Big
Surprise there... It's probably Mario Golf or yet another Mario Party.
If for some reason it's the follow up to Super Mario Galaxy then I have
a question for Nintendo...
