Tekken 6, Has arrived to consoles.
I remember playing Tekken 2 as one of my first PS1 games. Awesome memories throughout the years with each new installment of the series. Well Tekken 6 has arrived after a long wait. Tekken is known for it's cool, interesting, and even insane characters. In this area it is excellent. With 40 Characters to choose from, and not having to unlock most of the characters (unlike past tekkens) you can get started right away with your favorite chracter.

The Offline mode, has your classic game types: Arcade, VS, Team Battle, Survival, Practice, and a new Ghost mode where you play against characters who were customized by namco (like the one's in Tekken 5's arcade if you've played it). When fighting against the CPU you can have your character rank up and gain fight money to buy customizable goodies for your characters which can be worn and used in fights.

Gameplay - The classic 1 on 1 fighting is superb. The fighting styles are so fluid like and fast paced, all while running at 60 FPS. The Motion blur gives it a really good smooth look and feel. The animations and graphics are great considering it's a multi platform (Yeah this isn't ain't exclusive like the rest). This is probably the best fighter I've played this Generation in terms of balance, look, characters, and feel.

The Scenario Mode, which is new and the main part of the game, I found to be a little odd. The voice acting isn't too great (Eddy for example) but the rest is in Japanese usually so you'll have to read what they're saying in english. This is based off stages, usually short with a boss at the end of each level (being another tekken character) and upon beating the boss you'll unlock them for use on the other stages. You can also take these characters to the Arena to unlock their videos which is pretty cool. Once you enter the arena it goes back to the classic Tekken style (Sort of wished they depended on this more because it's what all the tekken players want) until you beat it, and then it goes back to the stage/area selections. You also get gear which raise your chances of getting better items, more money for fights (best way to get money in the game) and other power ups. It's a RPG in a way but not as deep as most people would assume. For non RPG fans it might be a little odd, and for RPG fans it won't seem to be fulfilling. The Graphics seem to be lowered down compared to the regular fighting as well. Despite these few minor flaws it can actually be fun plowing through enemies and picking up their drops (items, money, health) You'll also get to use weapons like Machine Guns, Flame Throwers etc. for a limited amount of time/ammo. You also have a companion with you (Cpu only). It would of been nice for a co-op and would definitely increase the fun.

Storyline - Tekken has always had a crazy story line. Jin is taking over the world, fighting against his Father. It's pretty cool and different for a tekken story. Although the individual stories which fans look forward to, to see what they have in store for their favorite characters are a little lacking. But that's due to the fact that they have 40 characters in the game and making them each have a story as good as the Mishimas would be very time consuming and difficult. Although I think some of the videos could of been improved. An example would be Yoshimitsu's in Tekken 5, which looked better animation and graphic wise. It was insane, while his video in Tekken 6 is just, odd. In terms of the storyline overall yes it's just as unique as the other ones and has insanity involved of course.

Overall - All of the classic modes superb and excellent. Namco Delivered for sure and nobody should be upset in that department. While Scenario mode is a little different for the Tekken fans, if you enjoyed Tekken force you'll enjoy this for sure. Tekken fans should find it enjoyable to gain money and items while racking up trophies and beating some skulls.

If you haven't played a Tekken game before and enjoy fighting games, this is definitely worth picking up. It has an amazing amount of characters with each one being awesome with a great system to match it. I can get sucked in easily fighting my brothers or friends for hours and with the online mode you can take on the world and let them experience your epic beat downs. It really is a fun game.

If fighters aren't the game for you but you're interested, I'd say give it a rent. Besides for the Boss in arcade mode being hard as hell to beat, the system and feel is easy to get into especially if you try sticking to just one character and going into practice mode.

As for the online, I haven't played it so I can not say how that is. This is another thing I have been looking forward to in Teken 6. Although it is a hit or a miss for most people in terms of lag. The Good news is that a patch is on the way to fix the problems and once that happens I'll update this and let you know.
Ups
Great System. Characters are balanced very well, many styles to choose from.
Addictive Modes that'll have you knocking out more people than Tyson
Interesting Characters, Loads of content and replay value.
Downs
Loading times can be a bit long
Scenario mode shouldn't of been the main mode

9.0 Graphics
Excellent Graphics at 60FPS with no lag or slow down in the offline modes. The Characters look outstanding in detail and amimations. I would Give 9.5 for this in a heart beat but based on things in the background (people, the pig truck not looking too great)and the scenario mode I'll balance it.
9.5 Sound
Wouldn't be a Tekken Game without the "Ah, uh, Wooooooahhh"'s. The Music is always interesting and all the background noises from pigs squeeling to vehicles all sound great.
9.5 Gameplay
With 40 videos, tons of items for each character, a whole scenario story mode, online play, and of course the classic battles this game is the kind of game that if you don't finish, or buy a new came you can always come back to and enjoy it.
9.0 Fun Factor
