But at the same time, no one can deny the fact that great visuals do make a good game even better. As we march into the next decade, games are getting prettier and the demand for better graphics are becoming stronger. I have constructed a list of the best looking games of the decade with choosing one game for each year.

Does Anyone Care About Backwards Compatibility?

The Xbox 360 made waves back in 2005 when it was revealed that only select games from the original Xbox library would be backwards compatible on the system. A year later, the PS3 launched with a graphics synthesizer chip installed specifically for full-on PS2 software compatibility. Said chip also contributed to the exorbitant $600 price tag of the console. Meanwhile, the Wii was fully backwards compatible with all GameCube games. Fast forward to the present, and Microsoft is – more or less – done with adding titles to the forward-compatibility list (old games you play on a new system are forward compatible, whereas systems that play old games are backwards compatible), while Sony actually took a step in the opposite direction, losing back compat. Have they dropped support for the feature simply because it's not worth the effort? More important, does anyone care about backwards compatibility?

Unplayed: The Most Underappreciated Games Of The Decade

The best games are never forgotten. Even if they sell poorly, they live on because gamers and critics can't stop talking about them. What about the next-best games, though? With hundreds of new titles being released each year, the low-selling games that aren't showered with awards are in danger of being swept under the rug.

Gamestop Buy 2, Get 1 Free Used Games Sale Kicks Off Today

GamerDeals.net:

"Gamestop has just notified us that they have kicked off one of their anticipated Buy 2 Used Games, Get 1 Free sales.

This offer is for three days only, Friday, December 25, 2009 - Sunday, December 27, 2009.

The Buy 2, Get 1 Free Used Game Sale is available both in store and online!"

Panzer Dragoon – Sequel, Spin Off, Start Over or Stay Dead?

Welcome to this week's, "Sequel, Spin Off, Start Over or Stay Dead?" Each week Diehard GameFAN is going to look at a dormant franchise that was once pretty popular, but for some reason has disappeared into the sands of time. Diehard GameFAN staffers will have four options for what they want to have happen to the series and you can see them in the title of this piece.

Today's franchise is arguably the best of the 32 bit generation. All three games released during this time were considered system sellers in regards to the Sega Saturn. The third game in the series is almost always listed as one of the best role playing games ever made and the eventual fourth game in the series won our 2003 XBOX Exclusive Game of the Year Award. It's been nearly seven years since a Panzer Dragoon game has graced a system, unless you count the Sega Ages game for the Playstation 2. Panzer Dragoon Saga is one of the most expensive and sought after games on the used game market and the series is nearly universally loved by gamers and critics alike. However, since purchasing Sega, Sammy has allowed the series to go dormant for nearly a decade. Is there still life in one of Sega's biggest IP's? Eight members of the Diehard GameFAN staff discusses their thoughts on what should be done with the franchise.

Why Backwards Compatibility Matters

Ryan Jackson writes, "I feel betrayed. I feel many of us have been betrayed over the years, by many of those in whom we trust, or feel we do. I own Steel Battalion, a game many would not have paid 200$ for at launch. Though I still own an original Xbox, the game will never be backwards compatible because of the controller connection, will only match an original Xbox, and I wouldn't expect a company to release an adapter for an extinct product line."
