Dragon Age Origins: Return to Ostagar DLC Announced

BioWare, a division of Electronic Arts, announced today that the Return to Ostagar downloadable content (DLC) for Dragon Age: Origins will be released on January 5 in North America and Europe for the Xbox 360 and PC versions of the game at a cost of 400 BioWare Points or Microsoft Points. The DLC will be available for the PlayStation 3 later in January priced at $4.99.

Rumored 'Call of Duty: Vietnam' To Be More Story Heavy?

While Valve has officially announced that the original cast from Left 4 Dead will be making a return appearance in Left 4 Dead 2. They have also all but hinted at further expansions to the game in the form of the popular band of misfits the Midnight Riders.

Featured in the Dark Carnival level and other easter eggs throughout the campaigns, The Midnight Riders look to be a either a future addition to the game or could possibly be a new game all together. Valve has put together a midnight riders official website, giving these characters a full backstory, detailed character models, they are even selling...more.

Something Modern Warfare 2 Got Wrong About Pakistan

Pakistani reader Saad was thrilled when he heard that Infinity Ward's Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 was getting a multiplayer map set in the city he calls home, Karachi. That is, until he played it.

"I, being a Pakistani, was so excited at seeing a Karachi map and then immediately so disappointed when I played the map," says the Karachi resident. The map has Arabic written all over, even though that isn't the country's language.

The country of Pakistan has two official lingos: English and Urdu. With somewhere between 60 and 80 million speakers of the standard language, Urdu has more speakers than, say, Italian, Korean or Polish.

"Infinity Ward probably thought, 'Oh hey its a Muslim country so Arabic is the language,'" says Saad.

While Arabic and Urdu use the same script, the words are completely different. For example, the noun "people" is "al-naas" in Arabic (?????), and "log" or "loug" (???) in Urdu.

"To someone who doesn't know urdu won't be able to tell the difference," Saad explains. "It's like Spanish and English, I guess. Some letters are same, some are different but the words are completely different."

There isn't a single Urdu word on the entire Karachi map and no one writes in Arabic in Pakistan.

Not a surprise of course, considering it was the biggest game of 2009, but I personally know people who turned to piracy simply because the game lacked some notable features (read: dedicated servers) that most PC games have."

Nvidia delays Fermi to March 2010

Nvidia is expected to delay its next-generation DirectX 11-supporting GPU (Fermi) to March, 2010, while AMD will launch more GPUs in January-February, according to sources from graphics card makers.

Nvidia originally scheduled to launch Fermi in November 2009, but was delayed until CES in January 2010 due to defects, according to market rumors. However, the company recently notified graphics card makers that the official launch will now be in March 2010, the sources noted.
