Soldiers in Afghanistan are using a £19 iPhone "app" created from computer game technology to kill Taliban fighters.

BulletFlight helps sharpshooters work out how the wind and the rotation of the Earth will affect their bullet - and even predicts the wounds the enemy will suffer if it hits him. Snipers are using the ballistics program downloaded on to their iPhones to target the enemy over long distances.

Allied forces already use adapted Xbox 360 video game controllers to pilot robotic vehicles.

Producing sequels to classic game video games is one helluva balancing act. If you deprive gamers of sequels, you risk irrelevancy (hello, EarthBound). If you flood the market with shoddy crap, you'll ruin the brand (hello, Sonic the Hedgehog).

That balancing act means even the most beloved gaming franchises have farted out a trainwreck of a game once or twice in their lives. The results range from simply unplayable to laughably insane.

Remember the Nintendo DS dating sim, LOVE PLUS? No? The story of the Japanese man who married a LOVE PLUS game character might jump your memory.

Well, a massage parlour based on the game (also aptly named LOVE PLUS) has recently been opened in Japan. The employees are all women who dress as Japanese schoolgirls and pretend to be the game's characters while giving customers their massages.

The parlour's main website explicitely states that customers are not allowed to ask for employees to undress or perform sexual favours, though they did mention that customers are guaranteed 200% satisfaction. Seriously. They actually had to warn against that.

This game sure brings out the, uh, strangeness in people.
