Assassin's Creed PS3 issues still exist, despite patch

Ubisoft may have released a patch for the PS3 version of Assassin's Creed but unfortunately a number of gamers are reporting that the patch did nothing for them and the game is still freezing in various places.

1 - What was it that it was supposed to have fixed?

Just the freezing or other issue's aswell?

I remember reading somewhere that the newly added Information Board caused the freezing issue's when activated. Dunno if that's true though.

Your internet connection has an influence over how long it takes the info board to load announcements. If its slow (internet connection) it can cause freezing or major slowdown.

it is really good, also you have the unlockables like weapons select, infinite ammo, speed up, slow mo, super slow mo, one shot kills, and others, when you get enough points that is. not to mention finding all 60 treasures

Information Bar being the problem is a myth, I had the game for 1 week and it froze on my numerous amounts of time, with or without the Info Bar, Psn Logged in or any other stuff that apparently affected the game. Glad i got a refund to be honest.

Its not the firmware, Sony system settings, its the game! - Its just not finished.

Wether you acknowledge the Problems or not ; I.E

Frame rate/Screen tearing
Freezing
Glitches
Bugs
And various other crap.

This game could have used a couple more months testing and development, as both i feel went out the window on the PS3 as Christmas was looming.

To coin a phrase, with regards to the patch, YOU CANNOT POLISH SH*T!

Come now. While I do agree with you on some level, would you feel sorry for Ford if you bought a car from them that stalled every so often?
No, you'd be ramming your foot down their throats to get them to fix the issue.
I'm not saying we should all be going crazy @ss on the devs, but there is obviously some level of dissatisfaction.

On a personal note, the only time I've ever had AC freeze on me if when I left it paused for a long time...I've never had it freeze while playing.
And even though there might be some issues here and there and the missions / tasks seem repetitive, I still really enjoy it.

Some of you guys need to check your facts before blowing hot air on subjects. The PS3 version was not a port, don't you remember it was a PS3 exclusive back in the day.

As far as freezing issues: I'm tired of some gamers with really loud voices speaking for the entire gaming community. Truth is, some gamers might have had issues with the game, but that is not a common thing amongst all gamers.

this game was never a ps3 exclusive this game began as project assassins for the 360 ubi was always gunna make multi platform but it development on this on started on the 360 before the 360 was released and at a time where there were no ps3 dev kits. Making it still a port.

@harv052, The fact that Assassin's Creed was birthed on the Xbox 360 has been well documented. Most of the Media had seen early version running on Xbox 360 hardware well before its official announcement. That is pretty much why the media was dumbfounded when it was only announced as a Playstation 3 title (at the time). I don't think it's zaything fault that you were sick the 2 months that it was constantly talked about within the media.

The PS3 has done much more in its first year than the Xbox 360 did in its first year...all the xbox 360 got in its first year was gears of war and nothing else exclusive for the box has come out to beat that yet...

The PS3 got Uncharted, Ratchet and Clank, Heavenly Sword, Resistance, Motorstorm, UT3, and Warhawk...and got an awesome multiplayform game COD4...which is as good on the PS3 as on the Xbox 360...

All of this was in the first year...

Resistance 2 and Killzone 2 and Socom PS3 and MGS4 and Final Fantasy 13 and Infamous and GT5 are comming in year 2...What did you get in year 2? Halo 3, Mass Effect, and Bioshock..

While there is no evidence that this guy knows what he's talking about when it comes to the PS3, the 360 had much more in its first year than Gears of War. Dead Rising and Saints Row were both very good games that released within the first year, and it didn't take a full year from the system's release to get them like everything releasing for the PS3 now.

Don't call this guy a liar when in comes to the PS3 if you are going to turn around and do the same thing concerning the 360.

I barely experienced any probs until..the last 2hours of the game it froze on me a couple times...but overall it was an OK game...curious to see what they will do with the sequel..!! Hopefully they don't rush it through the door again to make a quick buck

Look at r&c and uncharted, cod4. warhawk. They all run silky smooth.

I see your point with some games, but to state this is due to ps3 is wrong.

See the rsx in the ps3, has faster ram,faser pixel shader pipelines, then the 360, this is just fact.

Your confusing poor framerates due to rsx, when infact the problems are due to cell. Because cell uses different code, and code for spu usage. Orange box uses no spu whatsoever. so its basically running on a 3.2ghz core. And on orangebox on pc, 1core isn't really enough. Nearly every game these days needs at least a dual core to run smoothly.

Crysis needs 2xquadcore and nvidia's next gen card, g92 to run smoothly at hd res.

So before coming here and insulting us and making yourself look silly, learn alittle, will ya?
