funny that the number 1 selling PS3 game is Resistance:FOM, and now everyone is waiting for COD 4, and UT3, and also KZ 2 but you call the 360 just an FPS box when there is a sheer variety this time around...

The 360 at least have proven games so far, everyone is still waiting on the PS3, a kiddie game got the highest ratings so far on the ps3.

I'm sure that he's commenting on the fact that the 360's core demographic is FPS fans. The PS3 has great games coming from all genres. It has much more variety. R&C, Uncharted, EOJ, ect..

Anyway, back to the article. The guy could be right but I've heard too many developers saying the opposite. He also said that there is more power in the PS3 it's just harder to untap. The point is that the power is there for anyone whose willing to take the time to unlock it.

I really think we won't know until near the end until the end of the console's life when everything is maxed out by exclusive developers.

Let us PS3 owners just start celebrating that developers have finally gotten over the hurdles and learning curve of the PS3. We should have many wonderful years ahead of us.

No wonder he doesn't anything about the PS3... Both consoles still have the same amount of memory. They BOTH have 512Mb of memory. Sure the 360 handle it differently. But as is he saying between the line, if you fill the memory with textures on a 360, you have to compromise somewhere else because the CPU will not have enough memory. And if you crank the CPU memory, then you have less memory for textures. In the end, most games still break down 256-256. And that's even if they have about the same memory, there's so little games running at 1080P native on the 360...

The PS3 cost more because it is better. Lots of people dogg it cause the PS3 is getting some great games like Assassins Creed, Lynch & Kane, GTA4 and CoD4. I paid more for a Ps3 because I will be getting much more. In life it works that way if your willing to pay more. Everyone else is just sorry not to be getting their monies worth.

Vito can't you play all those games on 360 as well. That's like paying for XM radio when all you listen to is local. I'm not dogging you, it's just that your not making a lick of sense. And when it comes down to it, take out the BD and the PS3 would cost the same if not less (given the numoerous price drops) than the 360. Please give reasons why!

How about finding some common ground when it comes to stories like this? This is a great opportunity to not only be very satisfied with your own choice of system, but to give props/show some respect to another. ...if you have never developed a game for the PS3 than you have no credibility in talking about its abilities. Where does that leave all the PS3 fanboys who have also probably never developed anything on the PS3?

You don't have to have actually done something before you can discuss it. However, I dare say that having expertise in a similar field provides a better starting point for basing an opinion than just someone who has played games.

Funny how varited dev opinions are.
One dev says 360 is better than PS3, other one says PS3 is better than 360 and now this one says they are equal.

Too Human's sluggish performance/ frame-rate shows that they are not the best people to talk about graphics. Please leave the professional talk of graphics to pros like Epic, Polyphony, Infinity Ward and such.

Really. Who are you to say that Epic and Infinity Ward may only speak about consoles? Just because they delivered two great games (Gears of War, COD4) and they have something positive to say maybe about one of the consoles?

Those are the comments that make me think you're still biased, but just tweak your comments slightly so it's not noticed by others.

More people have said that the PS3 and the 360 are about equal in output, but have different strenghts. In the end, the result could be about the same. If not the PS3 was such a hard coconut to crack. Dude, even I would not say the 360 has double the power of the PS3. That must mean something, right.

I'm not comparing quality of Epic games to Silicon Knights (And I love Eternal Darkness and Legacy of Kain and really want to try Too Human) what I said was about their technical knowledge.

Epic has made 3 of the best game engines ever and their Unreal Engine 2 was one of the most common and suitable engines of last gen along with RenderWare (From Criterion). Epic has made 2D games as well as 3D ones and each of their games have won tech award (Original UT in its time, UT2003 in 2002 and UT2004 in 2003, Gears in 2006). Epic KNOWS what it's doing with the engine. If Epic screwed up the UE3, how game other games like Rainbow Six Vegas and BioShock use it and look stunning.

The fact that Silicon Knights is the only studio that failed to use UE3 successfully means that they are not the best ones to ask them about techy things.

Also, Silicon Knights HAVEN'T even worked on PS3. How can you talk about a console that you have no experience on? Infinity Ward made the excellent 360 launch title COD2 and their new COD4 won all the best graphics awards during E3. They made the game for both PS3 and 360 as well as PC and if anyone should talk about those 3, it should be them.

I think a studio like Epic that the recent multiplatform UT3 for PS3, 360 and PC and a team that for years has been making engines for all consoles winning awards for each of their works should have a better idea about power of consoles than a studio like Silicon Knights whose last game was a GameCube exclusive and their newest game, a 360 exclusive have had lots of technical difficulties lately.

Now I'm not saying he is right or wrong. I say he should be the last person to talk about this. Seriously, he hasn't even worked on PS2 let alone PS3. Last 2 games: GameCube, newset one: 360 exclusive.

Criterion, Epic, Infinity Ward and id are the ones that should talk about these things.

If you're not a fanboy, and just a gamer, why would you pick PS3 over the competition? Sure it's a great system with some great games, but everyone else has more to offer. This year you can pick up a 360 and Halo. A Wii with Mario. And there's all kinds of stuff on PC. What does PS3 have? Where's it's system defining game? It's best games are also on PC and 360.
