Japanese Love PS3, Hate Xbox 360 - Google Trends

With time people gets better knowledge of PS3 features while at same time strong game titles are getting out, next 2/3 years we should see PS3 replacing good space PS2 owns now in gamer's home leaving other systems behind.

PS3's features like PSP connectivity, Video on Demand, very low failure rate, joined with new Home Service to be launched this October (as also PES 2008 and GT5 Prologue get out) will glue gamers on PS3 world as never before super boosting sales worldwide.

Japan is where gamers are well informed about PS3 and this upcoming features and games makes all the point when gamers look for a system.

I own one x360 too and its nice interface for users, but not very functional and not very open about 3th party hardware, PS3's hard drive is very easy to replace to any other compatible while x360 don't allow nothing else than hard drives supplied by MS.

PlayStation Network (PSN) is FREE while x360 Live is PAYED, here we have one big PLUS for Sony's PS3. Mixing all this with PS3 power and integrated Blu-Ray player, it's hard to PS3 NOT TO WIN.

Doesn't bother me I find most japanese games to be uninteresting and sub par when it comes to elements that I enjoy in games like storyline, plot and gameplay.

EDIT:
Nope I am an old PC gamer and only reason I got back into console gaming is because the great game developers (pc game developers) started making games for consoles.

I prefer western RPGs, found most JRPGs to have same old save the world and save the princess storylines combine that with awful dialog and getting attacked every 5 steps. You have a mediocre gaming experience.

Xbox 360 is loved in North America because it's a native product, same thing with PS3 and Wii in Japan. It's not a mystery, it's human psychology.

The Japanese are extremely loyal. They love their own. But then again, they also love the mullet hair style. Not to mention a bunch of mediocre games. The Japanese also are not big fans of shooters or games where you get to control the camera. They like the camera set for you. The Japanese are weird like that.

i don't think they hate 360 it just doesn't have what they like. and in japan nintendo and sony are well established to a piont of no room for 3rd system.

the only thing holding ps3 is the price. ones the prices goes down like $100 or more then will start seeing ps3 sells escalate

The Playstation 3 has only outsold the Xbox 360 by a ratio of 2:1 in Japan.

What's worse for the Playstation 3 is that the Xbox 360 has sold very poorly in Japan--although better than expected.

The FACT is, Sony's Business Plan fully EXPECTED the Playstation 3 to sell MUCH BETTER in Japan than it is!!!

The FACT is, Microsoft's Business Plan actually expected the Xbox 360 to be doing slightly worse than it is. Microsoft never had high expectations for the Xbox 360 in Japan. Microsoft has said all along that their goal for the Xbox 360 in Japan is to use this generation as a stepping stone so that progress is made each generation.

The IMPORTANT FACTS are that the Wii continues to outsell the Playstation 3 by a ratio of 6:1 in Japan!!!

Even this past week when Sony was bragging that the Playstation 3 had a "good sales week," the FACT was that the Wii STILL OUTSOLD the Playstation 3 by a ratio of 3:1.

But the overall sales numbers are what count the most. This past week, when Sony thought it would be a good idea to brag...The Wii sold 75,000 systems, compared to only 25,000 for the Playstation 3. That means over 50,000 more Wii systems were sold in a single week. And the next week, sales were back to normal for the PS3, and the Wii outsold it by a ratio of 6:1...AGAIN.

Microsoft has said that since the $50 price drop of the Xbox 360, sales of the Xbox 360 have increased by 50%, which once again means that the Xbox 360 will outsell the Playstation 3 each week by a ratio of 2:1.

Japan is LITERALLY the ONLY country in the world where the PS3 outsells the Xbox 360.

It is also important to remember that Japan does NOT represent the importance that it used to in terms of sales.

In the 16-bit era, Japan used to represent 30% of the worldwide market for videogames. Currently, Japan represents less than 15% of the worldwide sales for videogames.

In fact, Japan is no longer classified as its own market anymore. Japan is now referred to as a part of the "Asian" market by the videogame Corporation.

The one thing that is SUPER IMPORTANT about Japan, is that they have a lot of third-party developers and publishers of videogames.

And the SUPER IMPORTANT FACT is that the Xbox 360 receives MORE JAPANESE Third-Party SUPPORT than ANY OTHER next-generation console!!!

Even companies like Square-Enix, Konami, and Namco have more Xbox 360 games in development than they do PS3 games.

The bottom line is: Japanese Businessmen--Third-Party Developers--LOVE the Xbox 360 more than ANY OTHER CONSOLE!!!
