Best Buy's Halo 3 Tax

With the release of "the most anticipated game of the year" right around the corner, retailers know that consoles and accessories will jet of the shelves. So what better way to join the celebration then by adding a Halo 3 dollar tax to many Xbox 360 accessories?

While other retailers are pricing the 360 add-ons at Xbox.com's MSRP, Best Buy thinks adding three dollars to that is the perfect theme to tie-in the Halo Three launch. As many devotee gamers will pop-in to jump-in, why would they suspect they aren't getting the Best Buy?

1.5 - That's Worst Buy for you!
The only time I buy from Worst Buy is if I can stick it to them, make it where they make no money. Like when CC had $20 off two $19.99 or over accessories just recently, I price matched to Worst Buy $200 worth of M$ points, used my $20 rewards cert. and got the points for $85.00. I wounder how much Worst Buy made off that deal? I am sure in the negative!!!

3 - These are NOT new prices
I work for Best Buy, and after Christmas last year, all of those accessories listed changed in price to what is currently on the website. In other words, those prices are MONTHS old.

This is NOT an attempt at price gouging with the Halo 3 release, but they ARE charging more than suggested MSRP for some 360 (and other) accessories.

In light of the evidence, the title of this story is grossly misleading.

Halo 2 is little more then a worthless piece of crap the only difference is bungie found a way to put it onto a disc. First of all I dont know how something with poor graphics, a short abysmal storyline and an unoriginal multiplayer made it onto shleves. Then for a game of this poor quality to be the most played game in who knows how long is nothing more then an utter joke. Then again the majority of halo players are 40 year olds that live in there parents basement and have never seen the light of day. I could go on for hours if I wanted to tell you better games then halo gears of war, resident evil 4... then once u finish halo's single player should take about 15 minutes you sit there and think didnt I play this **** in 2002 with the original halo. So all I have to say to the pathetically large group of Halo fans is go and come out of your basements and camp in tents for the release of the third installement in what truly has been a ****ty series. Thank God it's almost over!

8 - Went to Best Buy today,
picked up a copy of Norton AV and a Dire Straits CD. Stopped at the game section to see if there was any thing I couldn't live without (nah). While I was looking around, two guys picked up Halo 3 reservation cards; then I noticed something interesting, there was only one XBox 360 Elite left on the shelves, The spots for the Core and Premium models were empty. "Hmm" sez I. I stepped around to the next aisle and checked the PS3 area; surprise, the shelf was fully stocked.

I will be very interested to see the sales figures for this and the next couple of weeks. Best Buy's 360 shelves haven't looked like that since the post launch shortages.

Now would someone kindly tell me what there was to disagree with? A simple report of what I saw? Tell me, If I observed the sky was blue, would a fanboy disagree? Apparently so.

Went in my area yesterday and to Walmart no core or premiums, asked at Best Buy and they said they were getting more in on Sunday(HDMI). I think they are pulling Premiums and replacing with HDMI's.
