Do you really think Microsoft is going to let this game release without a specific ad campaign pointing out that the 360 is the only place to get the extra content? Do you not think every video game store known to man also does not know this and will be pointing it out as well?

Ahhhhhhhh, yes. People are very quick to generalize that all 360's are bad, when the fact is that it's far from the truth. My 360 works perfectly and runs at a rather cool temperature most of the time.

Don't forget that the only place to get the FULL GTA IV experience will be the Xbox 360! The extra content will appear nowhere else!

I would definitely play it on the Xbox 360 first and for most since there will be achievements to be had. Achievements make any game worth playing and from a good game you just get more out of it, more bang for your buck. Only someone with an Xbox 360 can attest.

That's called human psychology, and apparently it works. Just by recording some pointless number, you feel better. Just the act of observing something, changes the way you feel about that act.

So it was very very very smart of Microsoft to quantify your success with some numbers. You and some other people I know, will buy a game on the 360, just to be able to get a few more points. It makes you feel good. Microsoft made a smart move there, and unfortunately it means, you're getting scammed. Sony's trying yo do the same thing. Sony's "trophies" (such a rip off of achievements) are also attempting to suck you in, except without assigning a numerical value to it. (which I believe is instrumental to the achievements system) It's all a giant corporate scam for your money.

I really don't care much for the points really, at least not until the next Xbox Rewards Challenge comes around. I also know there are the gamer score whores out there, I have a few of them on my friends list but I'm not one of them. I can tell you this though, I never got more out of a game then I have with the Xbox 360 thanks to achievements. I have played through campaigns more than once, I have tried things I would never had thought of and have tried harder at things that I would have given up within a game that really didn't matter a whole lot but when your friends see that you did something in a game that they have tried countless times to do, it gives you pride. It goes both ways, I can see what other friends have accomplished and it gets me to try to match them or even beat their accomplishments. It’s just a great way to see what you and your friends are playing, had played, what they completed, how far along they are in a game, the list goes on and on. The bottom line, it adds value to the game in more ways than none.

To give you an example of late, I noticed a few friends have Robotron: 2084 as I do and I really didn’t play it a whole lot but noticed they had a few more achievements then I did so I thought I would fire it up and see if I could match them. After a few hours and day or two coming back to it, I finally matched them. Now I am trying to get the next achievement to outdo them but can’t seem to get to wave 10. So it’s like a leader board in a way. nothing wrong with that, all games have leader boards, right?

Edit: Dlacy13g does it really justify that while you are plaing gta4 on your 360 that suddenly it craps out and you have to wait 3-5 days for them to send you the damn box for your 360 to be placed in like i did and then send it and wait anoter 3-5 days just to play the damn game again and then it craps out again and you have to reapeat the process. Does it really justify now?

I am replying to your updated comment. I think you are assuming that everyone will run into the same bad luck you apparently did. While failure rate could be as high as 30% according to some sites...what does that mean? Does it mean that day one you open your box and boom...its toast? It means 3 out of 10 people could expect to see their 360 get red rings at some time ...its not a lock..its not a garauntee...its just a possible percentage. Most people, a vast majority of people are not having this issue.

So to answer your question....yes, yes it is worth it. There are great games on the 360 I want to play now and in the near future games that I can only get on the 360 such as GTAIV w/ the special content. My 360 is working great...so I will play those games. If it should fail...I will send it in for warranty for free...get it back in a couple of weeks and begin playing again.

I think the other peice of this that should be addressed is the "End of the World" attitude people place on not having your console for a few weeks. While I get we are all avid gamers...not playing games for one or two weeks is not the end of the world...you will survive it should you ever have to endure it. Get out...see what the sun feels like, breath in some fresh air...actually read a book! LOL...point is...the warranty makes repairs free so not being able to game for a few weeks is a fair trade given the great games coming out. And if you are able to I would suggest you get a PS3 and a 360...this way you get the best of all worlds in gaming on consoles ...and if your 360 dies...you can play your PS3 while you wait...and then get back to the 360 version of GTAIV,

1) Rockstar North have already said that BOTH systems will get downloadable content. Read here: http://www.eurogamer.net/ar...

2) The exclsive content for the 360 is not likely until early-mid 2008 so it won't affect initial sales imo as both systems will get content anyway by this time...

3)MS bought the content as Rockstar never announced any content before, but they wasted their money as they won't be able to make that back (not even with sales and DLC combined). The $50 million was used to officially acquire the content and it will also prevent Rockstar from 'officially' announcing content for the PS3 (as this will burst MS's GTA4 bubble).

From reading that article the PS3 version is getting more areas added onto Liberty City, while the 360 gets episodic content.

To sum up... As MS payed R* for the content, Microsoft can hype up the 360 version with this 'exclusive' content (to boost their sales), while the PS3 content cannot be officially confirmed until after release...

They made a demo for Saints Row so I dont see why they cant' for GTA. Basically just walled off the major portions of the city w/ a visible red barrier and kept the game demo to a very small portion of the city. so yes..it can be done.

That is an idiotic comment. Oblivion fit on a dvd and i doubt gta will be able to match its size. You do realize that if needed they could put it on 2 dvds? They did this MGS1 on ps 1 and quite a few other games. Quit being a fanboy, nothing was gimped down.
