1.2 - Whomever filmed this is clearly an anti Xbox 360 fan.

Gears of War is a darker game but not this dark, they've almost filmed it in Black&White, it looks hella good on my LCD, not dark like this. Too bad another biased post.

But all remember, we the Xbox 360 community also get UT3 as well and it will be even better than this ps3 version. Not to mention the beast known as HALO 3 is coming soon, very soon.

EDIT: Oh, I see. The poster of this supnub also did the video, lol, he washed out the GoW colors on purpose. Hey, stop being a lil kid and grow the hell up.

1.3 - Apples and Oranges

This video does nothing to prove much at all. But based on only the video shown, I would choose gears over UT3 simply because of how it was presented. Gears was in story mode (which IMO is always more interesting) while UT3 was in what appeared to be Deathmatch. (I'm don't think UT3 has a single player or story mode does it?)

Anyways, a more comparable look would have been with both games in deathmatch/Online mode. But for me, gears has it hands down. When you get past the pretty colors in UT3 and look at gameplay, it's really no different than any other version of UT. Hopefully when it does come out, there will be something there that we haven't seen before.

I'm not sure what the poster was trying to compare, but these two games are completely different styles of play and graphics.

Comparing a game that is a year old to a game that is not even finished yet?

Why not do a side by side comparison to Super Mario Brothers for the Nes to the Sega Genisis' vector man.

Why not wait for the 360 version of UT3 come out and we do a comparision on the 360 version and the Ps3 version.

Edit:OXM caught up with Mark Rein this week to interview him about Gears of War. They talk about a lot of different things, but here are some interesting exerpts.
So why the new content?

Rein: It's coming a year later and you know... how many people would buy a year old game? How would you feel if you played a game that you'd been looking forward for a year only to find that nothing has changed, everything is the same.

Disappointed, I guess. But then I'd probably feel more disappointed as a 360 owner missing out on the new content.

Rein: Well, they got the game a year ago, so it's hard to feel bad for them. I understand their frustration but you can't please everybody.

Surely you could please somebody by releasing the extra content as downloadable content on 360?

Rein: It's very unlikely. The two codebases aren't compatible because we've been patching... updating (laughs) the 360 version, so the two codebases are different. We don't have the manpower available.
Eat your heart out, Halo. A one year port with tons of extra content!
So what will 360 owners love about Unreal Tournament III?

Rein: It rocks. It's so much fun to play on console. There's a little bit of auto-aim like on Gears... what I like is none of our success on console has affected our games on PC. We have mods on UT for PlayStation3 and...

What about the 360 version?

Rein: To bring mods to 360, we're going to have to make some serious changes.

So you're not going to include them?

Rein: Oh, it's going to happen but 360 is a closed system so we have to work with Microsoft on that.
He also reveals that this is the reason that UT3 is delayed on the 360.

It's impossible to tell which version will be better, and in the end it doesn't really matter with the time difference in their releases since people will buy it for whatever system they have, and right now if they want it badly enough they either have to get a ps3 or a PC.
The main advantage to the ps3 is that it will apparently be a hell of a lot easier to get content than it is on 360. Epic will likely bring some mods to the 360 version, but they won't compare to the amount of stuff that will end up being available on the ps3 version. I have a feeling it will be like comparing the content available for Oblivion on the pc and on the 360; there is DLC available for both, but the quantity is a whole different animal.

Didn't Epic state that they wouldn't bring UT3 to the 360 if they couldn't do mods on the system?

So it only makes sense that both versions will have mods since UT3 is coming for the 360 right?

Both versions will be virtually identical I'm sure, the only difference may be more mods (or mods for Ps3 before mods for 360 since I'm sure all the mods will have to go through a stricter process to become approved on the 360)for the Ps3.

So, if and when you're story comes through, this is stuff I'm sure we all knew.

22 - Wow Gears looks great still

I guess it has to do with the Gritty Street outlook. UT3 will have better Multi-player for sure. Well UT has always been about multi-player. I've never known the story behind that game.

UT3, reminds me of HALO type game play, with all the colored guns and buggies and such. Obviously, The GAMEPLAY is on steroids, as the players in UT3 can jump and are much more flexible then Gears, which is close combat, duck & shoot type combat. Hey it's different and hey, I'll be getting it when it comes the 360. I just heard, there will be MODS and EXTRAS for the 360 version.

This game will set XBL on fire, thats if, you get bored of Halo 3.

Both of these games look great. Isn't UT3 using an updated Engine? Can't imagine Gears 2. EPIC is milking this engine for sure. Anyhow it is what it is.

The graphics are a little better and the gameplay is more intense in UT3. Idon't know about story-wise though because I have not idean what UT3 is about.

I know one thing for sure, the sony boys is NEVER gonna say that a game thats exclusive to the 360 looks better than a game thats on the PS3. so to debate which game looks better is nonsense, because its only gonna look good if its on your preferred system!! so instead of saying which one looks the best, why cant we just enjoy how great they both look.

what these guys fail to realize is that both systems are equal. one system does some things better than the other one, but overall both systems will be even. we all know that Sony said that they will blow away the 360 just like they said the killzone 2005 trailer was real ingame, neither one was true. but do the new Ps3 games look awesome YES, does killzone look awesome YES, so why cant we all be happy with that.
