If you ever watched the Halo 2 extra disk, all Bungie does is sit around. When it's time to get something done it's at the last minute; most dissapointing game of E3.

I think they're saying that to get people talking and to "freak" them out that there's not going to be online co-op out of the box.

Anyone remember how pissed everyone was that there was no online co-op in Halo 2, and then Bungie saying we tried, but were restricted on time.

Well, they've had H3 in development since before Halo 2 was releases... I think that's enough time... but again, I think they're just trying to generate some talk and get the hype going for this again as it seems to have died down a bit.

Halo 2 was gonna have online co-op but they did not get it in. Remember to have co-op to work, it has to work with the level design, online stuff, characters, players etc. You have to take alot into account, I reckon they can get it in there, if not then they could release a patch to add it and fix many bugs etc which appear.

After the garbage of halo-2 the only reason i was thinking of getting halo-3 was for 2 or 4 person online co-op -

If Epic can do it just fine with Gears of war the mighty machine and bungie should be able to do it with halo.

What is the hype for Halo 3? Alot of people have played the beta, so is it the single player campaign? I haven't seen anything that remotely compares to the hype for Halo 2. Maybe i just haven't seen it but where is the advertising for Halo 3? Halo 2 was at 7-11, TV commercials all the time, but Halo 3 seems rather quiet.

I think everyone whos comparing Halo 3's Co-op to other small games like rainbow six need to rethink what you said and learn to read. First Rainbow Six looks like total CRAP in co-op or online the textures go so freaking low rez bad example.

Second Frankie says "I think the biggest problem for us for online co-op is that we have a situation where you can be in a Warthog with five troops, almost a mile away from the other player. That's a significant challenge." Hmmm so rainbow and gears you can go a mile ways with a squad of troops? As far as Haze i don't know how big that games levels are going to be. You have to remember its about size and sync of a level. If its to big and its hard to sync all that online might not be easy.

I rather expected that online co-op would be a no-go for Halo 3. People comparing it to GOW, think for a second. How far are Dom and Marcus from each other in a level at the most? A hundred yards? GOW has a very linear level design, which makes on-line co-op possible. Same with Rainbow Six Vegas, etc. If, in Halo 3, as was stated in an earlier weekly update post on Bungie.net, all of halo 2's maps TOGETHER don't even make up one level in Halo 3, then obviously two players could get VERY far apart. So, would you rather have an awesome, huge yet detailed single player game with freedom to attack missions and levels as you see fit, or another narrow, linear FPS just so you can have online co-op? (The linearity of levels was the only thing I didn't like about GOW) So, get a friend that lives close to come over, sit on the couch and play Halo 3 with you, have some brews, and chill out. There will be plenty of stuff to do and fun to be had online anyway, in MULTIPLAYER, that is for sure!
