WOW... they have totally F-ed Up the franchise now.. its quite.. funny actually if i would get the game id have to import it... but i highly doubt i will buy this game now i may wait for FF VS 13 and pray they do not screw it over aswell..

Seriously just wait.

I think you will all warm to the song when its incorporated into a FF trailer.

Its a brilliant song and lets face it, if you cant understand japanese, how can you be saying that the JP song is better.

If i remember correctly, FF10 was the only fantasy to have its theme in japanese.

ff9 melodies of life - english
ff11 distant worlds - english
ff12 kiss me goodbye - english

im glad they have included a western artist for ff13 (just like they did with FF7ACC and Dissidia)

Hm yes kimi ga iru kara is HELL a lot of ff fealing. Its a lot more traditional to FF main themes then Leona.

My hands is good song. I heard it twice and it sounded ok to me.
It could go with FF13 as something different and new. But Im not sure how will I react on this song in game. Who knows maybe it will be super but every old FFFan can put his safe finger on kimi ga iru kara. It is accurate hit on western public that played ff before. And before games had english songs too but it was FFORIGINAL song. it wasnt just tooked from some other source.

dunno. It could be good. But it definitely wouldnt be FF on traditional way.

THE BEST solution would be .... PUT BOTH SONGS IN GAME. and my hands in credit song. and during games moments kimi ga iru kara. or vice versa ... depends which song suits better for credits/moment...

But it would be the best that both songs are here.

Can't believe you people are dissing leona. If you don't think the song fits in FF games then thats fine. Leona is one of the most talented singers in the world. Her voice is easily comparable to that of whitney housten, mariah carey or any other major diva.

the japanese theme song is much better and fits better in ff. Cmon the english song is not bad but it DOESN'T fit the game at all. I am very disappointed. Here's hoping that SE will at least include both songs in the ps3 version since it's using blu-ray.

For being a song in a final fantasy game it is terrible!
Now again don't get me wrong it's a nice song but it should in no freaking way be put into the game.

WTF is up SE!? Pay to have a damn song written or just leave the Japanese one in the game.

I'm seriously about this... I cant stop of laughing after read that. She's is amazing artist, got a amazing voice and a great talent as a musician and a singer i can't denied that... BUT THE SONG IS A TERRIBLE CHOICE for a FF theme. Someone @ S-E must be crazy... I'm uber disappointed with this choice.

I want my Japanese version back... or someone @ S-E make a US adaptation of the song. Another reason to be disappointed of S-E ONCE AGAIN! >.>

Ugh... can't believe I'm actually writing on N4G of all places...

But I love games and really hope FF13 doesn't go the way that it seems to be going.

I suggest that people write to square enix if they see something they don't like ( https://support.na.square-e... They may or may not listen, but writing is better than just raging on a rather inconsequential forum.

With respect to the best course of action that Square-Enix should take: As a consumer of games, it's always better for customers to have more options. So, I would be a supporter of having Japanese audio and JP theme song as well as the choice to listen to the respective English voice audio and theme song.

The logic for the above is simple... great films like Pan's Labyrinth, Amelie, Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon, and 7 Samurai have traditionally all been shown in their native languages with subtitles. Why? I would argue that dubbing necessarily takes "something" away from the experience. Because I consider games to be approaching the artistic medium as expressed in literature and film, it seems rather heavy handed of Square-Enix to take away such an important choice.

Alternative viewpoints are certainly appreciated, but I'm hoping N4G users will try to rely on reason a bit more... (though perhaps I'm being too idealistic)

This is the equivalent of puting beyonce's halo as halo 3 theme song, "great artist" "great song" bas combination or puting eminem's superman as the superman theme song " i was going to say soulja boy but he dosen't count as a good artist or an artist in general" i really hope square change's it for it's fan base since their the only one's giving them their income not the hardcore fps fans that can't read or write so i can see why their dumbing the game down to cater to the western audience.

That's true i didn't mean to characterize it like that( i mean how many people speak japanese in the us any way's the majority speaks english and spanish so why didn't they put someone to sing the main theme in spanish there going to have to sooner or later like (30) years later when they start catering to that audiance. I get what your trying to say i like everything original too so i can see the developer's originaly intended product same with movies, music, anime and videogames same go's to all forms of media but this is ridiculous what developers are doing i thought their supposed to use whatever is accessible to them that's what bluray is there for ( like i say if you have the equipment use it same goes for marriage but thats a whole different topic! ) it should not hurt the sales to have the original product intact it should actually increase their sales so i don't get why they can't just add the original language/ music and for people that are saying why listen to something you can't understand i get this question alot you may not understand it but since i can read i have no probloms with it and some other's say you spend half the time reading text instead of paying attention of whats on screen well thats not a problem either for people who can read properly instead of trying to sound out the words like a bunch of 1st graders!

I was hoping they do a Tales of Vesperia ("Ring a Bell" by Bonnie Pink) where the Japanese vocal theme is sung in english with the same instruments for the western release. Guess not but I do have the limited edition of the Japanese OST on pre-order...
