i guess the ps3 owners had to choose between 3 good games while the 360 had 1.

I was losing faith in my fellow PS3 gamers. How comes an incredible game like UC2 is selling ONLY 1 m? and COD 5m? that got me saddened

Now if we suppose total COD sales on consoles is around 4.5m, 2:1 ratio means 1.5 m on the PS3 and 3m on the xbox. I'm ok with that. Not supporting Activision and its rehashed games in any way.

ha ha, true to a certain extent and thanks for your honest logic. many 360 guys musta been sitting on warchests compared to previous years BUT forza and odst have been released recently so some of that money would have probably been blown on at least one of those so the initial ratio is still decent

If you dont care, why are you here posting on this? By the way, the numbers for Uncharted 2 online, though great, are still small (averaging 12-16000, maybe even less now). And R&C sales make up a very small number of overall PS3 players.

360 has had many games this year, so please try to be a little more open minded. PS3 gamers do buy their games, but they obviously sell less compared to the 360. And it's been tough for Sony to find a massive super game like Mario or Halo. They gave GT5 though. Your right that there are lots of games for the PS3 in terms of exclusives, but so does the 360.

The answer is simply that there are less PS3 sales, so none of this is too surprising.

Well i cant believe this stupid MW2 hate is still going on. Ok so ive bought MW2 and Uncharted 2 on Ps3 as i dont own a 360.

Uncharted 2 is without a doubt the best single player game ive played this gen, followed by Fallout 3 and Mario Galaxy. However MW2 is the best multiplayer game ive played this gen, followed by Resistance FOM and Killzone 2.

Even though MW2 is essentially COD4.5 its still the formula that i love and i will still be playing it for months to come.

And i dont give a crap who wins GOTY, it doesnt effect me in the slightest.

As a multiconsole I will give the PS3 the nod when it comes to exclusives, however multiplatform titles which are multiplayer in nature seem to always sell and arguably play better thanks to Xbox Live. Take Borderlands for example, it only sold 100,000 less than Uncharted 2 (crazy). Obviously 360 owners are buying games.

With that said, I think gamers of all stripes should buy as many games as they can. Support the game industry. And for anyone that hasn't bought Uncharted 2 or Demon's Souls yet, do yourself a favor and pick them up.

Nothing to be sorry for, you did your part. MW2 sales are not the problem but UC2's. I'm not fond of the MW franchise but its obvious game has a massive follow up so high sales are quite expected, the 2:1 ratio is pretty consistent with COD4 figures.

I hope UC2 lifetime sales top MGS4 (4+m), that will put UC as one big franchise alongside MGS and bellow MW and GTA.

The Call of Duty at launch definetely makes 360 owners feel like it's a 360 game. But then most multiplatform games do because even when the main platform during development is PS3 they still have to take the 360 into account so all gamers get shafted. Honestly this should have been a 2 disc game. They knew it was going to sell. Microsoft has paid to claim it. They should have waived the extra disc fees so IW could have made the game special. They could have made disc one the single player and disc 2 the mutliplayer and spec-ops.

I'm very disappointed the single player is shorter than Bozo buckets. But I'm sure there are trolls who are happy they can finish the story mode faster than the pizza is delivered.

Very well said sir. It is a bit embarrassing to mention, but with all my friends getting the game, I feel a bit left out not wanting it. To the point that I keep looking over video after video in an almost self convincing way, telling myself that it has changed and it would be a fun experience. Yet I still cannot see this game as more than its predecessor, and hence I cannot muster enough interest to warrant the purchase. I will just stick with Borderlands until I can get my hands on Bad Company 2.

Forza 3, Halo ODST, and Episodes from Liberty City all say hi.

The PS3 exclusives were nicely spread across the year though.

It started off with a bang from K2, then went to inFamous, then we arrived at the surprise of the year Ownage Souls-- I mean Demon's Souls. Then we ended the exclusive year with an even bigger bang with Uncharted 2.

With the 360, they suffered the first 6 months but they have just as many exclusive games this year.

you listed 2 expansions and a racing game that is a marginal upgrade over the last iteration (yes I have played both and put well over a hundred hours into Forza 2)? The review scores OR the sales will tell you that Modern Warfare 2 is easily the best game coming out this year for the 360. Their only AAA exclusive was Forza, while the PS3 enjoyed 3 AAA exclusives with one of them being higher rated than any other XBOX360 game to date. It's not so much the amount of 360 exclusives, it's the quality (or lack thereof). There's no need to be defensive.

A Crack In Time was a great game. Enjoyed it thoroughly, and it has better visuals than MW2 ta boot!

I think the sales of Revenge of the Fallen quite obviously proves yes, people CAN be wrong.

But do you enjoy it? If so, who cares? I bought MW2, I enjoy it, but it's not nearly as good as the hype said it was. I will continue to play it with my friends and have fun because that's what gaming is about!

Your argument falls flat on its face because the 360's software sales are way, way, way higher than the PS3's every month. If they have nothing to buy all year, then why does the 360 always have the most tiles in the Top 10 selling games each month? Exclusives sell better on the 360, multiplatforms sell better on the 360, everything sells better on the 360.

And next year, 360 owners will be able to buy the following: Mass Effect 2, The Secret World, APB, BioShock 2, Crackdown 2, Halo: Reach, Final Fantasy XIII, Fez, Alan Wake, Crysis 2, Just Cause 2, Splinter Cell: Conviction, Fable III, Natal, and any other big exclusive or (the superior version of every) multiplatform game that comes along.

This is exactly why I converted to PS3 from the "lamebox". All you get on the lamebox is overpriced expansions and recycled racing games. When a multiplat comes out that has ANY value the bot pile on like ants to a dropped piece of candy on the sidewalk. They're desperate for something to play. Well guess what? PS3 has AWESOME exclusives and we get the multiplats too! We also get to play this game online...wait for it...wait for it....FREE!!!! Yes you heard it here bots. PSN is FREE. Just because you can't tell by that one game doesn't mean we aren't buying. Take a look at the big exclusives on both platforms for 2009:

360:

ODST = Just under 2 million
Forza 3 = ... not 1 million? (beat by new IP, Borderlands)

Total - 2.75 million

PS3:

Killzone 2 = Just over 2 million
inFamous = just over 1 million
Uncharted 2 = 1.5 million
Demon's Souls = 1 million
(I won't mention R&C because I'm not sure about the numbers)

Total - 5.5 million

Remember.. on exclusives alone this year. Also remember that both major soccer titles, Bayonetta, etc sold better on PS3.

Halo ODST sold more on its first day than Killzone 2 has sold overall. You're also comparing 4 titles to 2 titles, which doesnt make sense. The 360 will ALWAYS sell more games. You can justify any way you want that the PS3 is a better console, but the truth is much different.

You also failed to mention it sold less than half of what Halo 3 did in one day. With a logic like yours, it must be a flop. Also, why would it matter which one sold it faster? Point is, they both eventually reached 2 million. That won't make PS3 exclusive's number any lower.

Uncharted 2 passed 1 million already. Google it if you want because there are too many sites stating it went "over 1 million", including Sony themselves.

Considering that, after analyzing, the PS3 was selling more games than the 360 despite a larger install base, I'd have to ask where you got your stuff from.
