PlayStation 3 Now Has Mandatory Firmwares

Our office had troubles signing onto the PSN today. Well after trying and trying we decided that it was time to update the PS3.
Updates:
For those who are reporting it, read the article. 3.01 was a optional update and now its mandatory.

it's not a very relevant article, but anyway the article in short means that previously update 3.01 was optional and now it is mandatory.

So he isn't wrong, just in my opinion it wasn't worth the time to write this piece of "news".

That made me laugh, but it's true!!

Wish N4G increased approvals to say 50 or 100, and disallowed any story which got too many reports (except mods could approve a reported story if they detected fanboyism behind reports)...

it affects the os. its not a game update...it frees up ram for certain games and reduces the footprint and memory usage of the ps3's os. Uncharted took advantage of this smaller os.

PS3 has always had mandatory firmware updates. Every major update has been mandatory. There have been a few optional updates, but that's been an exception, not the rule.
