Rumor: Facebook, Gamercard colors in next PS3 FW update

SCRAWL: "Facebook integration, the ability to change your gamercard colors and more are coming to PlayStation 3, if these images from an anonymous tipster are to be believed.

The leaked images show the ability to manage your Facebook in your PlayStation Network account settings, changing the color of your PlayStation Network gamercard and a new, more sufficient way of looking through your photos."

You do realise that a photoshopped picture is quite different from actually coding a firmware update right?

No you most likely don't, it seems like no one gets that..they seem to think it's easy for the firmware team to pick a user created picture and just implement it as a firmware code.

Because these features arent the most requested features we want.

We want the Basic Features that Push community into the PSN. like Cross-Game Chat and Cross-game invites for example.

Of course I know that, don't be silly. However, looking at 18.2 it seems that there is a small contradiction. The community has great ideas that Sony doesn't seem to be giving that much thought to.

Sure, there are other better features out there that we would all love, but why not just accept these features? Let's not limit the community based on our own tastes, I'm sure there will be quite a few people who use the FB app if it ever gets added.

18.2 you are right, there are more important features. For whatever reason Sony is slow or is having trouble implementing them so in the meantime, these features are okay additions, though nothing spectacular.

What the hell is with all of the negitive comments? You get updates for free and even then it's not like Sony are forcing you to use them.

I just love hypocrisy on this site sometimes, when Microsoft announced Facebook everyone screams for joy but when it looks like Facebook is happening on the PS3 as an app and not just through the web browser you scream and stamp your feet!

Maybe he falls in the same category as I do. I bought a PS3 at launch because I was more than happy to pay for what it offered at that time. Everything else that has been added since (and in the future) is just an added bonus. Why should he be unhappy about free additions to a console that he was happy to pay for in the first place???

I don't personally give a crap about cross-game chat, but the community wants it. Sony has been VERY good this generation about listening to the community, so EA issues or not, you can count on Sony making this happen.

what sony really need for the ps3 is an app store for the ps3. can you imagine pandora on the ps3 without using your browser. Imagine any company can make application for the ps3 like windows. think of the possibility.It only does everything.
