Users shouldn't be reviewing without playing the product. Simple as that. If they don't like a game, don't buy it and don't "review" it. It goes against the principle of user reviews.

Possible buyers must be informed what they are getting. IGN or any other websites are not trustworthy these days (insert principle here). I am actually glad they are doing this.
Losing 60 bucks may not be anything to you but for me and many others, it's alot.

Then you should be able to read comments from legitimate purchasers, not people who have never played the game. Maybe someone who's new to PC gaming doesn't really need to know about mods or dedicated servers? They might want to buy the game and they might enjoy it. Just forget it, everyone is just disagreeing with my thoughts so it's pointless to continue this conversation. I wish people would give reasons instead of just clicking the stupid disagree button. Quit hiding behind your monitors and say something.

Maybe users should have "previews". A review is something that you give AFTER viewing, not based on stuff you read online.

This just goes back to the hating on Amazon and Metacritic because fanboys gave the competition's exclusives low scores for no reason. They didn't even play the games. If you want to think poorly of a game, by all means do it, but giving it 1/10 just cause you don't like a few things is childish.

Well, it's balance between popular websites and users. IGN gave 9.5 and user gave it 2.0. I think, I go with happy medium which is 5.75 for PC. And, that's spot on. Unplayable multiplayer with 5 hrs single player.

and for you comment about people who just started and no knowledge of dedicated or whatever... sounds like government to me. fed tax, state, social and all kinda tax but guess what, we don't feel it 'coz we were born with it :D. Why not start president tax, that way new born wouldn't know about it.

Bubble back to you too :). If this was no name game, nobody would care. Many PC players were anticipating this game more than any others and dev/pub just screwed it big time. And, that's the bottom line.

It's simple, it you dont want to play $10 more, dont buy it. Yes, you go and be a total badass by talking smack on forums about a game that many people really like, but you disagree with how a portion was made. o and btw, I had to go to multiple places in town to buy this game, because they were sold out of JUST the pc version of the game, with ample copies for ps3 and 360. Sounds like a horrible game to me right?

Um I'm aware Games are developed on PC's, but maybe you're aware there are some games that are more PC games, and some games are console.

Age of Empires is PC. Tombraider is console.
Both have appeared on the other formats, but taking target audiences in account, they suit certain platforms better.

Face it, CoD has been consolised since part 3. Its not even assisted aiming anymore, its autosnap aiming.
Just about every big game lately is a console game, even if they go to PC. Assassins Creed, Dirt, Madden, NFS. Just about anything multiplatform was made with consoles in mind. How many good games get made purely for the PC crowd. Crysis? Total War? PC games have been riding on console coattails for over 10 years. PC games sales should be huge since they are so much better we're always told and eeryone has one. Instead everything is pirated and people only buy Warcraft and maybe Sims.

I'm not trying to make you mad guys, its just my opinion.

Oh and dchalfont, your actually comparing software revenue for PC's against overall profit of launching, researching, manufacturing, and distributing of a console? Whose the idiot?

to answer your question, you are the idiot, that 12.7 billion was only in game sales, the figure of harware and software is thousands of times larger, haha, ownage, ps3 and 360 were both outdated on release day, and they've only gotten further behind since.

Pc has more exclusives released each year than every console and handheld combined. You chose a few well known cliche pc only games as examples, which just proves how little you know about pc gaming and gaming in general. A lot of games are going multiplat, but pc gets more games than any of the console's and we get the best games of each, do you really think any pc owner gives a **** about kz2?, of course they don't. there are so many games coming to pc in the next 6 months it's ridiculous.

tisk tisk, such foolishness, starcraft 2 will sell 12 million copies, as will diablo 3, and crysis 2 will make any exclusive console games look second rate, it's more like console's are lucky to get the scraps of pc

Console sales are doing so poorly that the makers can't afford to release new console's, yet every year we see pc gpu's double in processing power while getting cheaper and using less power, 6 core/12 thread cpu's coming in q1, how many spu's does the cell have again?

You've never played a PC fps have you? The people using these hacks do it for the lulz and they don't leave even if you call them 'losers with no life' - infact, that's what they feed on. That's why you need some sort of voting system to get rid of em if you're not going to have dedi servers with mods.

And if you hadn't noticed, alot of us pc gamers aren't buying the game...
