Spent 4 hours playing the sp and I am at DC now. With the exception of several levels the game almost put me to sleep. I don't know what it is but the game is bland and the graphics OMFG IGN's 10 for graphics is without a doubt the most overated BS I've ever seen. Only 2 hours in before and I was already thinking I will trade this in when I am done with sp. I loved the first MW and IMO it's the better of the two. It could be that it was something fresh when it release 2 years ago because MW2 just feels so played out. It is IMO without a doubt completely overhyped and doesn't deserve 9.5 to 10. I would say between 8.5-9.

Imagine my surprised when I tried multiplayer to find out it wasn't working and frozed on me while looking for players!

I am officially spoiled by Sony exclusives. This game can't hold a candle to Killzone 2 or Uncharted 2, heck both Rachet games on the Ps3 is more fun than this. Crap. Trading in after sp for Assassin's Creed and GOW collection.

Sorry for sounding so negative but I bought into the hype and I am really disappointed. Too much brauns and not enough brains. This game is nothing but a testosterone fest geared towards younger players.

This will be the last COD game I ever buy.

Edit: This game is severely overated. The tech is last gen low res crap, story is complete crap, clipping, multiplayer is broke, so much of the same shiat that has been done 5 times before in just this franchise and yet all the reviews are 9.5 to 10 across the board!? WTF happened to gaming reviews?

you know.. all the "over-rated" rating is a good thing. people will soon stop believing the sites who's reviewing. i stopped believing in IGN when they reviewed Heavenly Sword and GTA IV. one was under-rated and the other one was over-rated.

it's good for the industry. hopefully, people will wake up one day.

and yeah.. 10/10 for graphics was the killer!

MGS4 was a really polished game too.
I guess with multiplayer involved something is going to screw up

If you think it is fine then you have not tried to invite your buddies into a lobby and then start a game. Host migration is a bit off and the invite process is buggy. I trust they will fix it byu friday but until then, even in MP the best way to play is solo.

I've got some problems.
I played yesterday during the night (on the PS3) for about 2h online without a problem. I started to play again today, but after some time, while I was in the lobby I couldn't do anything anymore (as if it froze). So I quit the game and restart it but now when I try to get online I'm stuck at the Online Status, so now I can't play MP.
Hope they fix this sh*t soon.

edit: BTW: since the first patch (1.01) I have problems syncing my trophies. Never had a problem before this patch. I don't even know why they needed to release this patch, because it's clearly a broken one

I couldn't connect with any friends, but the trophies seemed to work fine. I think I agree with everyone else this version is missing something, just feels bland. When looking back on this series I think more people will remember the original MW more fondly than this iteration. I even had a few guys on my friends list that where playing MW2, and by the end of the night where back to MW1.

I find it interesting that PC fanboys like to complain about their games getting "console-ized". Releasing a game with this many bugs and patching it later used to be restricted to the PC world. In this sense, console gaming is getting PC-ized. This is unacceptable. Having an HD and internet is great for allowing improvements to a game, but not when it's used as an excuse to sell unfinished products. The higher level of QA for console games was one big reason I bought one to go with my PC in the first place. This sucks.

How did IW manage to release such a buggy version of what is essentially an update of an older game? Having any MP issues at this point is ridiculous.

No, this is what happens when you have a company that knows people will buy it no matter what.

But hey, everyone is so excited that MW2 will sell more than tranformers! So.. thats better than having a good game. There is a reason people boycotted this game & Activisions actions towards gaming. At a time where everyone is hurting financially, they raise the price of their game at the same time as removing features for the original supporter of the title. Now the game is more buggy and less polished than the first..

why would he have to be lying i have completed single player and i have no trophies i only just got the ability to collect them today via the 1.2 patch so i have to go all the way thru veteran again to get them.

on topic i think the mp is fine untill i got the newest patch now when i go to mp it stays on connecting to matchmaker server and doesnt go anywhere i am hoping its just IW making new servers for the amount of ppl playing the game i got to lvl 30 by the end of last nights session and i wanna carry on today sometime.The only problem i have had besides that is the one i mentioned above and that was not having trophies they wherent even in the trophies section it said the game had no trophies till the new patch today.

I also think the Blood on your screen is annoying, it gets very distracting and it's hard to see where you are going when you are getting shot at.

Also another thing that is annoying is the way we have to invite our friends, now we cant invite multiple friends at once, they are never able to connect, and it over floods your INBOX. Not to mention. I think I.W. messed up on the online on this one, hopefully they will fix it though.

If you didn't know about the bias going on, and you just bought a game based on the reviews from whichever mag / site you use, you'll think that that's the true reflection of the game's worth, and you'll be happy.

I remember a time loooong ago when all I had was EGM to go on. I thought it was the bible of game reviews, so I used it solely to assist my game purchases.

I just have a problem with other games getting docked for this in reviews and the free pass they give to some. I personally want a very low grade for multiplayer if it has excess lag. I find a game unplayable with too much lag(MGO). I only have PS3, so that is the only game I can think of!

After rating a game, have a little chart that says "this game is better than ___ but worse off than ___"

Can't remember which gaming mag did it before, but I found it incredibly useful. That way, if a game got 9/10 for graphics, but was still considered "worse off" than another game that got 9/10, at least you knew how the games stacked up against each other.
