Xbox 360 Wireless N Adapter Price, Date Confirmed

IGN:"Microsoft confirmed retailer listings today for its newest Xbox 360 Wireless N Adapter. The new network accessory adds "lag-free network gaming and multiplayer," says the company, and allows for better streaming of high-definition movies and videos.

The adapter will retail for $99 and will be hitting store shelves this week. Microsoft confirmed the old Xbox 360 Wireless Networking Adapter will receive a price cut to $79.99, but only while supplies last."

Is it really too expensive to package with at LEAST the elite? Both the PS3 and even the Wii have em, why can't MS just put it in the 360? Along with a standard 20GB HDD for the arcade units. That would be a LOT better.

For the record, PS3 does NOT have built in 802.11n and for HD Netflix without interruption (quality downgrade) 802.11n is a necessity.

Having said that, $100 is absolutely ridiculous. Microsoft is going to ruin themselves. I may go back to PS3 with the slim and Magic the Gathering coming to PS3 next year. I can't wait for Darksiders and the sound will be better on PS3. 802.11n adapter was going to be a big reason I stuck with Xbox but at $100, might as well wait for Sony's adapter.

It does effect gaming as a whole, because they applaud mediocracy. Just look at the difference of how mw2 is being welcomed by the different communities. A lot of ps3 and pc owners are skipping mw2 and xbox360 owners are acting like it's the second coming of christ. you made your point very well and i have to tell you im noticing this too, unfortunatly what can we as a gaming community do to stop this? if these people want to buy sub par games then they will do so no matter what, but what i can never understand is how they can blow them out of proportion like theye do, the only thread of hope we can cling on to is knowing there are certain dev's out there that will continue striving to make quality games, this is why i say god help us if MS becomes the leader in the gaming industry if that was to happen i may have to give up gaming all togeher, to end on a posative note while we still have intelagent people playing games i feel there is hope for the industry yet.

Bigger range mostly. I bought the G addon for my 360 and it was pretty stable but not worth the 50 euro i paid for it i just didnt want more cable's through my walls. Hope this at least works better then the previous 1 for this price.

My 360 cost me 300 euro with a 60gb harddrive back in 2008.
-Charge pod 25 euro
-Wifi adapter 50
- few months of xboxlive 60 euro

Havent used xboxlive for a long time now same for my 360 that has been gathering dust since resident evil 5.

Ps3 60gb bc 600euro
Glad i paid the price cause my ps2 just died after 8 years of loyal gaming service.

While the breakdowns are an issue it really isnt for me because of the warranty.. whenever my xbox showed signs of trouble i would purposely make it get the red rings and just get a new one lol.
All they have to do is make playing online free and i would be happy they can charge for all the other crap just make playing free.
The ps3 without a doubt is the best value but for people it comes down to the games and what console their friends own.
