Has the MW2 Launch Left You Jaded?

DualShockers writes:

"This question goes to the people who ran to their nearest game store of choice to pre-order Modern Warfare 2 as if their lives depended on it. And maybe even those who picked it up from "mom and pop" stores a little earlier as well. It has felt like an eternity waiting for this game since the original trailer debuted back at E3. Activision has spent millions upon millions of dollars to make sure that you, your family, your dog, your teacher, and your gay uncle Lucy know that it's coming out. And every little teaser/trailer released since then with little to no details about the game have had most of us shaking in anticipation. Now, I don't want to rain on anyone's parade or anything but now that the game is finally here, is anyone still as excited? Or are you starting to get the feeling that (besides the new perks and care packages) it's really just the same old Call of Duty..."

I was feeling like this launch was almost too over the top. Sometimes the quioeter titles that dont get as much pomp and circumstance are the better titles.

It's brand new for people like me who never owned COD4. I don't have the game yet, but I'm excited to get it soon. As far as people who have played the hell outta COD4 for the past 2 years, I can't speak for them.

4 friends of mine are have been fans of COD since the first Modern Warfare and they said this one was AMAZING and it feels more intense and fast-paced.

The people I've asked on my friends list said it's "perfect." Now I'm not sure about that but I'm sure, for what it is, it's pretty great.

I wouldn't know though.

Question for everyone though: Is the singleplayer good like the first one? IGN said the story is kinda unbelievable (in a bad way). Is that true? Cause I like singleplayer more than multiplayer.

1.5 - NO BS review
I purchased COD MW2 today and played the multiplayer for two hours when I got home from work. I can only compare it to PS3 games as I dont own an Xbox but I am extremely disappointed. I played the first endlessly but this one feels a bit different. Its faster, more twitchy and the graphics dont compare with the likes of Killzone and certainly not Uncharted or Uncharted 2. More guns and different maps does not make a great game. FYI....I have nothing against Activision or IW, this is just my honest assessment/opinion.

I am very happy with the game so far. I've played a few of the story missions and put in several hours in the multiplayer. I haven't even tried spec ops yet.

These are some of the best multiplayer maps I have ever played and there are a bunch of them and I pretty much like them all... which is a rarity for me.

Well worth the $60 in my eyes!

Sometimes expectations are hard to keep in check - we expect a lot more than we actually get. I try not to get too excited about new games, because if I do and it doesn't live up to the standards I set in my mind, I don't enjoy it as much.

Only thing I'm jaded about is all these MW2 articles.

@ below:
I know, but I think everything has already been said. All the b!tching and moaning, fanboy rants, PC gamer anger, BC2 fanatics saying MW2 will get blown out of the water (hey I want BC2 also but that's not until March).

When does it end? Every major game release gets about 200 stories. If N4G organized huge titles with their own tab (say for a week before and after launch), it would help clear up the main page so you don't have to wade through 15 articles about MW2 to find something else to read.

They can take away the TGS09 tab, btw. That was ages ago.

Well at least it's not another one of the comparison pics and clips stories. This is a totally different angle from what everyone else is talking about. It's all about angles.

I have to agree, I love the wait for new games, but I think the game lives up to the hype (in this case).

if I get a beta/demo, or the actual game, I try to play it sparingly so I don't get bored with it.

Yup, that's why I'm going to only play 1 level a day from now on. I'm already a level past halfway. If you play it slowly you'll enjoy it a whole lot more.

the only thing taht has me jaded is the people who ran out to buy this game... truth be told.. there is little that has changed about the game. and it's simply reskined. It's Halo all over again. They say most FPS's are playing catch up. i actually thing Most FPS's are trying to copy and past than m,aking a name for themself. as much as i love InfinityWard I just cant subject my self to getting this game right now.. it's over hyped and i've played something better earlier this year, that is a technological advance in all aspects of game development and still play it now.

This game is just more over hype than substance. and the media ate the bate as well as it's fans and fanboys. I'll pass for now. i'm all gamed out and outta cash anyway. so i'll pick this up next year when it's used or something.

I love CoD.
This one is basically new maps, and new guns so I'm all for it.
The Core Online is not as hard anymore either, you can actually get a kill without emptying two clips on a dude.

UC2 and Batman still own GOTY in my book.

Sales don't equal quality and originality. Least UC2 being a sequel brought something new to the plate.

I just dont get why so many go gaga over this game. I dont see a big diff in graphics from the last game...9vs9, only 2 player CoOp and 6 hr short camp..
if this game didnt have COD on it and you read the above, it would score a lot lower.
This franchise is the MADDEN of shooters....to many releases, to little improvements..
sorry but its true
