Yamauchi Responds to GT5 Track Editor Rumors

GTPlanet: "Although Yamauchi's ability to talk his way out of specific answers remains strong, Geddes' latest interview drew some interesting comments.

The first highlight comes when Geddes tries to dig deeper into the often-debated "20 locations, 70 variations" comments regarding the number of tracks in Gran Turismo 5:"

If their actually going to do, considering how big such a feature would be, why wouldn't they keep it under a tight lid? Even if it did get leaked.

As mentioned, the words Yamauchi-sama used is kinda interesting. If true, GT5 will be godlike. If not, will be pretty much incredible.

Still, if its not true while the hype for it builds up, that's proabbly all reviewers will need to drop its score down a few points.

PS3 games do get penalized for never having features after all...

Or is it just wishful thinking on your part that it is?

I'm not the one crying, XD you guys keep crying that its in the game. and if its not you won't say another word about it. Like everything you ever said never existed.

LMFAO just like 100/1000 cars having damage.

1.10 - Reading is fundamental
"Until we’re very close to release we won’t have a finalized decision on a lot of things."

"so it would probably be a bit different than the types of tracks the users will set up in the game."

I'll not get mad if it doesn't come in GT5, because I'm sure it'll be in GT6 and Kaz-sensei already confirmed that GT6 it'll be done is less time GT5

Finally we'll get:

.Custom Tracks
.Day and Night
.Weather

If not in GT5, It'll be in GT6

GAMERS FTW!!!

It's funny how 360 fanboys like to shoot down GT. In fact, for every comment that was shooting down GT, a new feature/improvement article would appear.

Guys, you should learn your lesson on MGS4, Killzone 2 and Uncharted 2. You know PS3 top exclusives ALWAYS deliver.

Not only do they support damage they have a higher level of damage rendering in most cars (not the kind of canned animation Forza3 has) but the rest of the cars (about 150 of them) will have the highest sim like damage renders to date on ANY sim racer on the market.

Either way, you look pwned. Awww. :(

In Forza you could ram into a fence at 200mph and have flakes of paint come off and a canned animation of the bumper flying off then disappearing almost immediately.

In GT5 you'll see real time dents and crumple zones depending on the collision area and the bumper may or may not fly off. If it doesn't fly off then there are a number of animations e.g the bumper hanging off "bolts" on the car or a crack in the bumper. If it comes completely off and fall on the track, it'll remain on the track every time you drive by unless knocked off to the side by other cars.

..definitive uh? yeah ok

Correct me if I am wrong, but isn't this website one great big PS3 article? Also, I wasn't being sarcastic, it was a lame shot and I think he could do much better, I am not touchy about that statement, I couldn't care less about it initially, but it did seem kinda lame, which is why I said what I said, not lame because he's talking about the 360 but lame because it was lame.

It's almost as lame as "Halo: Consoles Evolved", ALMOST!

Again, I am not attacking Sarcasm, I just thought he could do better.

Are you kidding me? Why do you think GT is known as THE car sim game on consoles? Why do you think car enthusiasts who never game go out and buy a PS to play GT when ever it launches.

Since GT1, its the most authentic racing sim on the market. You can tune a vehicle in the game and use those same specs on the real life car and it'll react exactly like in the game.

I don't know where this comes from but it seems there are people actually think GT doesn't have spec tuning which is baffling cause THAT"S what makes GT GT. That's the main meat and potatoes.

Forza is not a racing sim. You're being duped every time you buy it thinking it is. Forza is just a racing game. It incorporates arcadey mechanisms. You can't tune a car in Forza and have it react in the same way on a real vehicle. Disagree all you want all day long, You just can't.

If you think putting master chief on your rims is what Automobile enthusiasm is about then I'm afraid you know jack. Perhaps, street racing games are more for you if you like to have a picture of boobs on the hood.

4.2 - Yeah, I don't see why you are whining about tuning of all things...
Just play GT4 and you will see the MINIMUM level of tuning that must be in GT5. Tuning is one of the many things that GT excels at.

I just posed a simple question to fellow GT5/gamer enthusiasts, maybe to shed a light on more or upcoming news and facts which I want to know more about. it seemed as both of you has taken offence? It is weird you posted an analysis of the history of GT in-reply to my simple request , but still haven't answered my original question, thx for trying.

Uhm, don't know if it's the way you read it but the responses were by no means given with offense in mind. You asked a question and you were answered but I guess I've been seeing this pattern of some gamers asking about if tuning will be in GT and it looks like something that's trying to catch fire on the forums cause few have a perception that GT doesn't have tuning for some odd reason.

See, asking if GT has custom tuning is like asking if GT will have cars in it. There are only TWO major things car enthusiasts buy GT for: The Tuning&Parts on the cars and the graphical look of the cars.

Again to ask if GT will have good looking cars or if it'll have tuning is odd cause that's what GT IS.

In GT you'll get to see parts of cars that you'd never have the opportunity to see or afford and you can implement them in your vehicle (if it can function with your particular car) and see/feel what it'd be like if you had it in your real life vehicle. This is why people love this game. It's a true sim racer and it gets better and better with each iteration.

But ofcourse, you don't have to get all deep into it but cause of the way the game is, you WILL get into car mechanics eventually and start understanding more about cars and enjoying it.

All this talk about damage damage damage, is all distraction BS. Car sims are never about damage, they're about driving; meaning, making sure you DON"T crash or go off track. There are many GT gamers that will start entire races all over again if they go off on the dirt even a little bit. Car sims are about the feel of driving that perfect line and getting it right. Sure damage can be nice and add to the immersion but you ask any car enthusiast and they'll tell you, they dont' even want to see their car have a hair line scratch on it talk less of dents and bumbs.

That whole damage pointer talk was just BS used by gamers who don't really know about cars outside of admiring the outside of them. You'll find that many people who go to car shows like the Detroit Auto shows and Toronto Car shows look forward to GT. To them, they don't even know what Forza is or if they do, they view it as a video game not a sim.

I wouldn't be surprised to see GT in Detroit and Toronto Auto shows next year too

She doesn't have a point. Hers are the actions of the desperately jealous. Their "great racer" came and went with barely a mark left on the track.

GT5 is the juggernaut of racing and it is coming to crush all pretenders to the crown as it takes the throne that it rightfully and unquestionably owns.

Hey yeah, how come no one talks/gives a sh*t about Forza anymore?

GT is a game that can take a year of your life yet for all the prelaunch babble Forza seems to have just dropped right off the radar.

Sort of like Halo Wars and Halo OD, and all their other "big" games this year. What were the others again?
