of the first time I saw the king campaign for Burger King. They were fantastic and these are GREAT! I am glad to see sony really making the push to be really successful. Hope they keep working on creative ways to sell the PS3. I cannot wait to get another one. Had to sell the last one, god d*mn economy.

2 - I enjoy the commercials..

mainly the one where the guys refuses to go online, but this article is bad. Why do you ask? Simply because the ps3 has pretty much been doing all of this since launch, why is it being presented as some new revelation...and those who would really be so disappointed in not having one come Christmas, in my mind, should have been had one. It was a no brainier to add the ps3 to my wedding registry.....

There's been ads for.

Uncharted 2
EYEPET (unexpected) now its selling well
Ratchet and Clank: A Crack In Time ( saw this on cartoon network, plus it was advertising an interactive game via Tv, this game also has an universal rating. SONY's appealing to everyone :)
Tekken 6 (Didn't think SONY were going to advertise this, because M$ love to advertise multiplats as their own but it makes sense for SONY to advertise it as its associated with Playstation, plus there were advertising it with a PSP Tekken)
Assasins Creed 2...coming soon

I've also seen an ad for PSPGO: Ben 10 on cartoon network lol
Plus GTPSP

I wonder what is going to sell the 360/Wii this christmas? I mean you need games :)

6 - These commercials are the cream of the crop - they are GENIUS.

My wife was laughing out loud on every PS3 ad we saw, and so was I. It has been a while sense I saw a series of commercials from the same company done so well. I thought the MAC vs PC latest commercial on Windows 7 is funny too. But this is marketing done right, and they are not even Superbowl Ads.

"yeah, i'm gonna file this under 'not an issue.'" classic.

i'm usually not one to fall for marketing tactics, but i have to say, if i didn't already own a PS3, and saw these commercials, they'd certainly make me want to get one.

it's like the Crash Bandicoot commercials in the PS1 days. those were hilarious.

i love the one where Crash basically crashes (no pun intended), the Pizza Hut commercial, talking about the Playstation while they are trying to pimp pizzas. that one always cracked me up.

people also forget that Sony does this EVERY generation:

The PS1 had a bizarre initial advertising campaign (U R NOT RED E), designed to spark interest in the platform and get people talking about it.

THEN, they followed up with a more mainstream/humorous advertising campaign (ie, the Crash Bandicoot games).

The PS2 and PSP ad campaigns were exactly the same. initially bizarre to get people talking, then more direct and humorous.

people always b*tch about Sony's marketing campaigns, even though they've done this for three generations in a row.

they already know that, in the beginning, the early adopters will buy the console and spread the word, by year three, they are moving into mainstream territory, and adjust their ad campaign accordingly.

that's what's happening now. and it's worked for 3 generations in a row now. the PS3 is on fire, building up momentum with reliable hardware, an excellent price, and a library of amazing, literally "ONLY ON PLAYSTATION 3," titles. the, "It Only Does Everything" tagline is marketing 101, and really encapsulates everything the PS3 is capable of doing, without bulletpoint listing it in every commercial.

personally, i think this is the best advertising campaign i've seen from them, and hopefully they'll keep it up.

I have a PS3 slim and will get the Xbox 360 Modern Warfare 250gb system this holiday season. I agree that Sony is looking great! A lot of people (Especialy parents) did not get enough PS3 info from stores....and Sony is taking action.

Who cares which systems is better. I have a PS3 because I love Blu Ray movies, free online play, and the exclusives. 360 and Wii are great too..but, I need my Blu Rays! (I like PC..but it's too expensive for me to keep up with the graphics cards.) Although I think that the 360 is awesome...I also believe that a lot of mothers/fathers have no clue that onlie play is free on PS3, don't know anything about Netflicks on PS3, and don't know that the PS3 is reconized as the best blu ray player out there. ALL THIS FOR $299! 360 may need to consider blu ray...or Sony could catch them.

....once again, it is a good deal, maybe he dont need the wi-fi adapter, maybe he doesnt care about blu ray movies nd maybe he wants just the single player so in that essence, having MW2, an hdmi cable, an extra controller, and i think a play an charge kit is a good deal.

usually people saying that the PS3 is a better deal and cheaper are the ones who dont get that some people use an ethernet cable (odd i know) or eve wired controllers, and dont go online and dont use their system to watch movies on.

Yes but for starters the ps3 is $100 cheaper than that deal.

In america COD6 is something like $60 right?

So its already cheaper. Plus whilst you might not need wifi having it is nice, it means less wires everywhere, and since wirless is in its a good thing to have. Less clutter.

And the ps3 controllers charge straight from the ps3 so thats no bog deal.

Now if he wants a 360 because he likes the games more, or if his friends have one then thats fine.

But a better deal? Its more expensive and on top if that you have costs for live... Its not really much of a deal...

To guys above. I have gold membership till Oct 2010. I have another 360 RROD fixed which i will keep in teh bedroom and have a router there so no need for wifi adapter. Also the MW2 360 will be kept in the living room and also close the the PC and another router so again no need for wifi. I hv many 360 games so why buy a ps3 and start from scratch when i can play with my Gf in the apt itself and online if need be?

I am so happy Sony is Finally showing commercials for the PS3. I see a commercial almost all the time now for the PS3. I think that is great. Because the more people that see these commercials the more people will want a PS3. I hope next Sony has plans for showing off some commercials for the PSP. Because the PSP could use some commercials too. That being said it is great news that Sony is finally showing off the PS3.

Ah well, still good suf, though, what with ALL TEH SUPA DUPA EXCLUSIVES the MON-TAGE vif had clips of 6 games of which 3 were exclusive and one was KZ2 which is almost a year old, all the other games were pretty recent or soon to come (like GT5).

Guess they will also use multis to help sell as well which means that, unlike some fanboys would have you believe, are STILL important to a system.
