agreed Panda. Mw2 is still a generic shooter at best.
I love Mw2 and all.. but things havnt really changed.

Bad Company has been changing alot of things and taking things above and beyond.
I cant wait to try out BC2 beta :)
Hopefully it wont cut into my Mw2 time too much.. if it does.. dmn u EA =p

I'm a modern warfare addict, but bad company is an awesome game... i thought the first rivaled mw pretty well, now since the jump from bc to bc2 is MUCH bigger than the leap between mw to mw2, i'm expecting A LOT from this game

man, bc really deserves mw sales... bc takes WAY more skill than mw(which is why mw sold so much... noobs can play it)

DICE love pushing hardware and gameplay. I'm calling it now. DICE will release BF3 within days of IW's next game. At that point gamers will have tired of the CoD name and giving them the option to switch to something 10x better will be one of the final nails in CoD's coffin.

IW are talented developers. However they've lost sight of what gaming is. They need a major gut check and DICE I'm sure is itching to give it to em.

DICE has always made the better the game on the pc platform. CoD4 didn't have a pc rival that year seeing as DICE decided to try a console game. It seems as though DICE learned their lesson and won't be trying to piss off pc gamers anymore.

@Sarcasm- I still might get both as well since MW2 looks great, but I'm waiting for the Bad Company 2 beta first and make my decision afterwards. If the beta is as good as I expect it to be, I won't want to touch another shooter till March.

As a gamer I'm getting both.

But as a personal favorite, I do like the feeling of Battlefield games over COD. I can actually run around and not get hit with a random grenade that was thrown from the other side of a building.

BFBC is/was the better game SP and MP wise! I like the story better in BFBC and MP is pure fun with vehicles and huge maps! in CoD4, the story is too plain and boring standard military plots! just like CoD2 but with modern twist! I just rushed through and killing people but the story was nothing memorial! The MP is purely grenade and camp fest and I hardly found that as fun! CoD now is known for it's MP and the approach with the same short SP campaign in MW2 proved it! I'm not buying into MW2 hype and will not getting the game ever! my money is all ready for BFBC2!

Bad Company was great. The characters were likable, you had more options as to how you went about your mission, and the multiplayer was more opened up (The maps didn't feel claustrophobic).

And yet it will sell only 15% of what Modern Warfare 2 will sell. Al the MW2 haters will talk the smack now but when BF:BC2 comes out none of them will show up with their cash in hand to support the game. Don't hate on me, consider it a warning. i agree, it isn't that different to BC1. BC1 was far far superior to MW1 to begin with (both SP and MP). watching the gameplay videos of BC2 looks like the same crazy mayhem from BC1 but with better destruction and graphics. the actual gameplay will be very similar and if it wasn't i wouldn't be buying it.

the only difference this time around is people are finally noticing BC is better than MW.

To me, CoD4 was not fun at all. People took it way to seriously and it was so confined and restricted. Now I haven't played the first Bad Company, but Battlefield 2(PC) and 1943 were incredibly fun. If previous games are anything to base these new ones off of, then I would say BFBC2 > MW2 in fun. Doesn't it just make you so giddy blowing a hole in the buildings of 1943?

bad company is more fun than mw. mw is fun to shoot people but that is it. now try having a tank crash through your little hiding place and the cannon at point blank blowing the cr@p out of you and all you can do is laugh your a$$ off. you can't have more fun in a video game than bad company and 1943.

now try and go into any building on the map without a second thought, come into a scene from any angle you want and play the game how you want to play. sounds like fun to me. but no IW has to herd you around like cattle to where they want you to go to save them the work of making those extra buildings part of the gameplay.

what's that, the door is locked??? we don't use doors in bad company

It's funny you say that because I find MW and all the cod game pretty bland in MP. I mean it's the same thing over and over. If you have ever played past BF games like 1942 and BF2, you would know how fun they are.

COD is the preferred shooter to the general console playing public because of both history (on consoles) and marketing budget. i want to tell people what they are missing by ignoring a superior game (of course IMO which is what this whole exercise is) and in the process ensure that there are millions of players online to guarantee me a better experience. when the install base of a game is low it tends to be quite hardcore online, if more people play it i get a better experience (e.g. BC vs. 1943). this also ensures many sequels with bigger marketing budgets to get the word out.

when the same 3 games are at the top for online MP on Live for 2 years then i want to rectify that and maybe get a few of the close-minded sheep out there to try something new and better.

so my motives are purely selfish, you can call it fanboyism but it aint blind fanboyism.

i have played a lot of both games online whereas most people haven't even given BC a second thought because the media hasn't told them to.

It is like 15.00 and under and is a great game., IF Bad Company 2 is even a little better then the original it will be worth it. and by the screenshots and gameplay videos I would say it is much better than the first.
