IGN: Gran Turismo's Kazunori Yamauchi Interview

Gran Turismo series creator Kasunori Yamauchi is a regular at the Special Equipment Market Association (SEMA) Show in Las Vegas. Each year he walks the floor and chooses a winning custom automobile to be digitized and made playable in the next version of Gran Turismo. IGN caught up with the Sony/Polyphony Digital developer at the convention for a brief chat about the custom car scene and Grand Turismo 5, the long-awaited next installment in the legendary driving series.

You know what I like about this interview?

The track creator? The weather? This is maybe the closest we've come to any real "confirmation".

"Not ready to discuss YET"

"Already possible".

Heh, once I get a few games out of the way, I'm going to grab Forza 3 in anticipation of GT5 and dedicate a weekend to nothing but Gran Turismo once GT5 is out... already building a garage in GT PSP.... but may only transfer over one car. :P

I would recomend forza 3 to anybody that likes their car games, its not exactly what the devs said it would be but it is still a descent racing game, I dont think i will play any other game for the first month of me having GT5, dont think i will trans any cars over as i dont want to make the game too easy at the start call me old school but thats how i remember playing gt lol.

HAHA!

He just confirmed the track editor!

"[Laughs] A lot of the courses we set up, we take a long time fine-tuning the details and building the track, so it would probably be a bit different than the types of tracks the users will set up in the game."
