private Beta was awesome.. but i wont be preordering to get into the public beta.

Invested alot of time into the private beta.. so gonna let the game cool down for the launch now. Dont want the game to get old on release date coz i played the gmae too much in the beta

Same thing happened to me. Hopefully it improves before the release date.

edit: I know it's a beta also. Bugs aren't the reason for the lack of interest.
With that said, it will be interesing if any of the bugs actually get addressed prior to release.

@1.3: Actually wrong. They added a 2xAA and improved lightings, so technically it improved. It still looks garbage, but we can't deny the improvement.

spot on, a little harsh, but I have played every COD game (on the 360)and MP to me is like Halo MP..boring and as you said...

for this day and age to have only 9vs9 and 2 in CoOP is just lol funny and just a sign their engine has to be stepped up to compare with other games...

graphically it looks just like the last COD.

sure the game is popular, but its just not cutting edge, just milk the franchise, like Halo did with ODST...(psst..another COD game announced for next year...lol)

The second I heard of the beta I rushed to gamestop to put $5 down on it. I have never been so underwhelmed with a game in my life... I'm trying it tonight, hopefully it got better, but it just seems like a CoD wannabe. The entire thing is a complete clusterf#ck, and it really needs regenerating health - and I'm usually an opponent of regenerative health.

From my limited time playing I thought the game was just okay. My biggest gripe about the game is that I really wish there were more variations in color to this game, because it's really hard to distinguish friend from foe at times.

The scale of this game makes it difficult to have amazing graphics. The fact that they manage to have it looking the way it does with 256 players is pretty impressive as it is.
Compare that to MW2 with it's 9v9 multiplayer or any other online shooter like a Battlefield game which supports up to 32v32.

I'm guessing most of you didn't play it with a group of friends, which completely ruins the experience IMO. MAG is a tactical FPS, just as tactical as SOCOM (no surprise coming from Zipper) and that's what makes it so good. My clan members and I had a steady group of probably 6-7, so almost a full squad, and it was fun as hell.

So for all of the doubters or past beta members who gave up on the game, if you do happen to get into this next wave, play it with friends. It makes the experience A LOT more fun, trust me.

Can't wait until January.

Sure the graphics are not killzone quality, and COd barely beats in the graphics departments. "But" I don't see a game yet where the battlefields are that huge with that many players on a console.

Seriously, there is air strikes, Jet strafing runs, Armored troop Carriers blasting, artillery bombardment, poisonous gas shelling, and troops parachuting from the sky...

All happening at once. Reminds me of The Flight of the Valkyries scene from Apocalypse Now.

The beginners difficulty curve for the game is very severe and you will most likely die alot more than you kill. The game has everything going for it, and I have had only 1 lag complaint. The community so far has been great and alot of Socom, Resistance 2 and Cod4 vets are playing.

The unlocking system is 10 times more rewarding than Cod4/5/6 and the bonus system keeps the game balanced. The game is more for the hard core team work centric people, due to the weapon damage being extremely high ( 2-3 direct shots) and rambo-centric players will just keep dieing. Rocket launchers are even balanced since it takes a while to reload with limited ammo.

If you enjoyed the killzone 2/ team fortress 2 / or any other class based shooter this is definitely for you. And once you become a veteran of the game and earn leadership points, you have the hand of god with air strikes etc. Also the community has helped alot of new players("follow me if you want to live"), in which the clan system/party is excellent as well (works just like Cod party system). Its all about team work and working towards a series of objectives. Team Death match is dated.

Honestly I am going to buy Cod6 and still play the beta. Once late January comes around, Cod6 will be sold for MAG.

MAG never impressed me. I might give it a try come release, but I am waiting for the Socom DLC. Socom is the only online shooter that has ever kept my interest.

That being said, I am pretty sure I will get Battlefield BC2. The trailers just keep impressing me. I am completely avoiding MW2. Nothing about that game looks remotely fun.

Plenty of people seem to love MAG so I won't know until I've played it for myself.

I think if anyone wants to tell others its amazing or that it sucks they should also state why they think so. Loco85, it would be nice to read about your experiences with the game rather than a simple 'game just plain sucks'.

Killzone 2 has 32 online and R2 has 64.

I think the game play is fast paced and fun.

MAG is definitely a great game, beta is just smoothing the greatness.

Yep. Took me a week to download the latest update. Not in one constant stream but the updating took so much bandwidth that Me or the rest of my family couldn't use anything else online while it was downloading. Plus what time I did have to play games I didnt want to sit staring at an update screen without even so much as the ability to access the XMB

True, but this is the first of its kind for an online console shooter. At least they are giving us the opportunity to give our input to corect these bugs.

But 6000 does seem like quite a bit. Well, I gave Gamestop my 5 bucks for this go-around, so I'll get a chance to see what the fixes are.

Not that I was any good for the previous 3 versions to begin with

6000 might be the number of things changed, but the majority of those are minor changes, as vic said it is beta for a reason, that reason being they want to test and change the game based on user feedback.

I guess console only users find the concept of a beta hard to wrap their minds around.

Noctis - "beta" to a lot of people means "demo", and that's how a lot of companies bill their "demos". It's kind of annoying when there's a "beta" but nowhere to leave feedback on it.

I think the biggest change for the next patch is the Proximity chat ala like Socom Confrontation.

You get a good idea of how the game is progressing.

It's looking very solid.

Just annoyed that you can use a MICV but not a Jeep or tank. Would be so much fun on the large maps with your sqad in two jeeps with .5 cals, heading off to battle and stumbling across a M1 Abrams on the prowl. Flee my pretties, flee...

it's not for every one that's for sure . it is a total team effort or you will not have a good time , some ass clown that doesn't have a clue can make things interesting. but with the right team it is hard to find a better multi player exp.
