I consider myself a gamer and im playing Demons Souls, Fallout 3, Uncharted (little by little, obviously those RPGs will take a while to finish), unless i wanted to renounce to my life, how the hell can i add another game to the current play list?

Im turned off by the short campaign, i like single player games but it seems MW 2 is all about the MP, which looks amazing.

Well, Frank, I don't see why I need to "man up" or , Mindboggle, why I'm one of these "idiots" just because I don't think supporting IW and Activision over MW2-and I'm doing so because I care about my fellow gamer too so if that means I'm not a "real gamer" then I'm puzzled.

Surely by caring about the future of our hobby(which I dare say I'm equally as passionate about as you are and I dislike the inference that I'm somehow not)it doesn't make me less of a gamer than anyone does it?

I don't, for a second, insult those who decided to buy the game and nor do I claim any bizarre rights as a more "real" gamer because of my stance either. My point behind this is that I feel IW and Activision are behaving very poorly toward gamers in general-and are doing it by stealth in some ways too.

I won't buy it because of the way they've shown they're eager to squeeze PC gamers out of the things they've always done and ignore the fact that PC gamers helped get them where they are today. I won't buy it because they showed how crass they are with a video which, while not personally offensive to me, was clearly something done to create controversy with the possiblity of offending any gay people who saw it-they knew how it would appeal to the less intelligent members of our community as well, which makes it doubly stupid. I won't buy it because of the EU only price hike(which, even if Tesco and the like are sucking up as a loss leader will still look like a success to Acti meaning EVERY gamer will pay more in the future)which is both devisive(like just picking on the PC gamers was, so was picking on the EU-setting the interests of console gamer against PC gamer and sneaking in a trial price hike by singling out the most complicated market in the world and dividing us along territorial ,lines as well)and, during a recession, disgustingly cheap and greedy of them.

I could go on about IW and Acti and Kotick's behaviour or even the rubbish they spouted about hating fanboys when members of their workforce are on recent record bashing one particular console. ATM I think they don't deserve my money as, firstly, behaving as they have would, in real life, make me avoid someone like the plague.

I've noticed a few people being rude to those who chose not to get the game, and why? I don't get it. Noone's stopping anyone else getting the game or abusing you for doing so, are they? I know I'm not. All I ever asked of people was to consider what I'd said before they did put their hands in their pockets to feed IW's ego still further. Had we stuck togethe, made a stand and not bought thte game straight off the bat we MIGHT have made a difference. Acti might have stopped the EU hike, IW dropped the lack of dedis for PC(and the lies they give as reasons) and EVERYONE could have bought the game and played together nicely.

My chief concern is how this reflects on the gaming community and juist how well IW and Acti judged it. They played us, imo, like their favourite old banjo, fot us infighting when they should be the target on any venom and got their way over everything. How badly will they treat us next time? How much will they ask WORLDWIDE next time? Will ALL games now go up in price when other luxuries are being vut in retail cost? What will they take from the feature sets next game up(PC or console?)?

So , call us few that don't want to support IW and Activision over this names, that'll help and is SO much the actions of people who "man up" isn't it? All we ever wanted was fair treatment now and in the future for YOU and US. The fact that we won't make a scrap of difference to them now is immaterial, to me at least, as whatever happened I wouldn't have condoned the behaviour they showed with a purchase anyway. All I hope is next time we get shafted a few more of us stand up, then a few more and so on. Hopefully one day we'll get to the point where we CAN call ourselves a community and stop being taken for granted like other groups of consumers manage.

When we can act like a community, stick up for PC gamers even if we game on a console(and vice versa), maybe then we can be taken more seriously. First, however, we have to stop calling people names when we don't share an opinion-we show the industry we're THAT divided how do we expect to get a fair deal-which is all anyone is after really.

I am boycotting the game as well Mindboggle and FrankDrebin. I don't need to man up to anything to pony up cash on a publisher's CEO I dislike and a studio I disrespect now for pushing into controversy that reflects negatively on all gamers. That airport gameplay was completely tasteless, and shouldn't have been included. There is no skill involving shooting innocent crowds and killing ppl screaming for their lives. Besides, I am not a fan of MW2's arcadely multiplayer, so with single player out, that doesn't leave enough value anyway. Of course, I wouldn't want a title like this in my collection anyway.

Buy it used! That way they won't get any money, but seriously If and I mean a very very big IF I get it its used, F- Bobby Kotik and IW lost my respect limiting PC gamers for unjust reasons. I don't normally game on PC but when you shaft a demographic for no logical reason we gotta stick together and show we mean business.

Just play the game for what it is. I'm boycotting the PC version, but I couldn't be happier with the 360 version. Contrary to what you think you know - it's good. Really, really, really good. Better than I thought it would ever be.

Yes, IW and Activision are A-holes for screwing PC gamers, but this game is phenomenal and you're really missing out by boycotting it.

Just buy it used, that way you're still getting a great game and on the other hand, you're not supporting an evil company (kind of, gamestop is the lesser of 2 evils though I suppose).

Their atitudes makes me wonder "what will come next??", i liked COD:WAW and it's the first COD. i have bought but once i was playing online i hated getting constantly kicked out of games becouse i didn't buy the expancions i felt like they tried to force me. and after hearing of the bull they said it makes me see a patern. i hope they fix their problems for PC gamers, but still i problably wont buy the game. Dont Hate just my opinion.

I'll be playing it just as soon as I choose which platform to buy it on. Sure it's just another Call of Duty...but hey, it's Call of Duty. The graphics are so-so but it looks freaking fun.

@1.3: To those trying to teach Activision a lesson by pirating it...if you're pirating it, you clearly LIKE it and thus should PAY for it. ...the PC gamers and the PS3 gamers are the most angry. I fall into both. Kotick is an A-hole for his barrage of comments and I plan to wait, and no, I'm not lying, I promise you, I have 11 games in my backlog now that Uncharted 2 is here and some others are in, and that's just PS3 games, I also have 4 for PC and a couple on DS and PSP...I have plenty and can wait. Some people like Paul above don't seem aware of why all the fuss is going around. He didn't just piss off PC gamers, he had detest come out loud and clear towards Sony, judging them for their actions with threats, and on top of that, every gamer should dislike the man, he wants to raise the prices of games as high as possible, he has no humility or integrity.

And before you go on about my time and energy in this article, I'm in here because it's about boycotting the game, so my time and energy are spent relevantly.

I have principles, and I have NEVER boycotted a game, but then again, I've never met anyone (Kotick) as hateful towards a company (Sony) and platform (PC and PS3) and will proudly and gladly take a stand. I don't care what fun I might be missing out on, I'll admit I'm a huge COD fan, but I have never been more disgusted by a "businessman" than by Kotick. No thank you, I'll wait for a while before getting it cheaper.

Don't give me that man. I'm mainly a GAMER, but mainly a PC gamer. All my cheap ass friends bought this for the 360 (they won't buy / can't afford a pc or ps3)and I picked up a copy too.

Yes, I HATE Bobby Kotick.
Yes, I have lost all respect for Infinity Ward.
But on the other hand, Modern Warfare 2 is a phenomenal game. Equatable to digital heroin.

The only company who's games I won't buy is from Epic. I hate Cliffy B, all their sh!t talking, and the two pieces of garbage that they released called Gears of War.

See in that case, I hate the developer because they're A-holes, and the games because they suck.

A good game is a good game, I would personally recommend playing it, just obtain it through an avenue where the greedy companies behind it won't get any of your money.

I just prioritize my disdain for Kotick differently in my specific case because I have plenty to game with currently that I put above supporting a d0uche like him. I will get it one day, I just prefer to minimize my "support" financially at this time based on principles and morals, and again, this is a first, I never normally do it, but I'm doing it this time.
