Pirates make death threats to Xbox 360 Director of Policy Enforcement Stephen Toulouse.

As has been reported, Microsoft has been cracking down on modded consoles for its Xbox 360 console. This weekend angry pirates, ( thats funny to type) threw loose threats at Stephen Toulouse the director of Policy and Enforcement for Xbox Live. Pressed with phone calls where threats toward himself, wife, and pets were made. Toulouse made an appearance on a IRC channel to ask the pirates to stop calling him and that all threats had been passed on to law enforcement.
Heres a copy of the trancript from the IRC channel #360banned.

While this is funny in no way shape or form, you gotta admit these low life #%$#^#, really love their xbox 360's. Talk about Fanboys.

Do You think they went a little too far?

3 - Keyboard Tough Guys
I'm sure those were just little A-hole children who were just trying to scare him. Whatever. If they had ballz to hurt this guy, they would've just done it. Instead, they hide behind they're keyboards and act badass. These are the kids you really wish you could find outside on the street and smack them around like little b!thes cuz that's what they probably are. Getting angry at someone for doing their job and keeping you from doing something illegal makes you look like an extreme douche. I lol at you.

That is true, except if you did run into one of these brats on the street and you actually smacked them around, they would probably press charges and you would end up the bad guy. Just the way things work these days.

6.1 - What type of modded PS3 do you have if you don't mind me asking.....
Because "mod" can mean something as simple as changing colors or adding stickers.

9 - Threatened to kill him? Really?
At what point did threatening to kill someone seem like a good way to get a ban lifted? Something tells me these guys aren't the smartest "gangsters" on the block.

you cant take this thing too seriously, MS just made it so alot of people cant play there 360 anymore and going by the typical fanboy this type of threat is pretty much to be expected having said that dont think every pirate gamer is some type of osamabinladen wana be funding terorists and all that nonesence theyre just mostly average people who dont want to buy over priced games, im in no way saying that this threataning people thing is exeptable on the contrary these people need to get a life

This is certainly extreme and uncalled for. Of course these are idle threats, most likely. Sad indeed. Death threats over a gaming console...

One of my buddies had his console banned on saterday for being modded. Its always botherd me that he has all of these games to play for free but what really pisses me off is the fact that he has been cought and all MS did was ban the console. His gamer score is still intact. Now he says hes just going to get a new 360 and remod it.

25 - Xbox pirates.
if they're caught, ban their xbox; DELETE their profile so if they had some pride in their gamerscore (lol), it's now gone. That'll teach those pricks to mod (and then try to go online)

they went to far when they modded the consoles for illegal games in the first place.

27 - Those pirates...
Agreed to the Xbox Live Terms Of Service when they created their Xbox Live accounts, therefore they accepted any form of punishment from Microsoft if they were even caught pirating, modding, and breaking various other rules over Xbox Live.

Their threats are empty, but they do deserve to go to jail for making such threats.

I have one modder on my friends list and he was cought without playing any games early. Seems just having the modded consloe online is enough. I just wish that the gamer tag got banned along with the console. In my freinds case all he did was buy a new 360 and move over his HDD. Shocking how easy MS is being on these guys, buy a new console and your good to go.

Well, the piracy will end when MS's releases their next-gen console with Bluray. Bluray will help end piracy for the PC also: not many people are going to be downloading 50 gigs. And dual-layer discs are expensive.

For the 360, if they require users to be connected/signed-in to LIVE in order to pay a game, that will cut down on most if not all piracy.

34 - While I do not agree with pirating...
I have read every comment on here and I rarely if ever decide to comment back but i feel it necessary on this matter. Here is the thing: likely half of the people who have been banned so far never even pirated games. I for one have been banned from live and I am not ashamed to admit it. All I did was pay someone on craigslist to mod my launch 360 so it can accept other hard drives. There are many issues here and I will try to touch base on most of them. The biggest problem and the reason I think people mod in the first place is because prices are ridiculously inflated so dumb**** big wig companies like M$ can make more money for bull sh!t products just because of the NAME BRAND. This directly relates back to why I modded. Im an honest, hardworking guy and I honestly dont see ANY justification for charging the price M$ does for thier small HDDs. Its ridiculous how I can go out right now and buy a new 500 HDD for the same price as a Microsoft 60GB 360 drive. Forget that. M$ knows they have control over the buyer and they know that no matter the price, the name will sell. Well im not going to keep going on about that but I think you catch my drift.

Also this comment is getting long so im only going to touch base on one more thing here:

M$ is smart. the banning is completely and entirely a marketing technique to boost sales for the holiday season and they do this EVERY YEAR. If your faint of heart, you might not want to read on...

M$ flagged every single console that has ever been on live for banning BUT they did NOT ban everyone. For years the modding community has helped M$ to THRIVE and every year at this time is when M$ performs bans. They watch craigslist, gamestop, walmart, Ebay, etc. They are completely aware that modders sell thier banned 360s and its perfect for them, i hate they are this smart but it works like this:

M$ flags everyone for banning, some get banned and some wait for that day but when a 360 gets banned it gives them two opportunities
1. they get everyone posting "Buyer Beware" all over the websites so everyone is forced to buy a NEW 360 in order to ensure they are safe from being banned (Boosts sales)
2. they "scare" the modding community into buying a new 360 and repeating the cycle that fuels thier intelligent marketing (call it a scam if you will)

They purposely ban small percentages every year like this. Its boost sales for them for holiday in more than 1 way, and it keeps us talking like this in forums. They know all of this and too many people nowadays choose to ignore it.

This in NO WAY justifies harrasing phone calls and death threats, but its time for people to wake up here.

34.1 - I agree...
It makes sense. If they really wanted to stop pirates they would ban their gamertag, not consoles. Not to mention the outrage that would follow if gamertags got permanently banned.

This way they keep the pirates as customers, but they have to buy a new console. Sort of like a pirate tax...
