I am happy to see Uncharted 2 mentioned in the list, The opening scene is one of the best of 2009. Nathan Drake stuck in a train after he fires some gas cylinders. Totally awesome!

i couldnt have agreed more but what about little big planet that was such an amazing opening title where your running along and the credits pop up with pictures of the cast , ontop of that you have stephen french talkin and you have the amazing music playing wow i've never played or seen anything like it in a game and it immeadiatley put a smile on my face such a charming game

I mean no offence to Killzone 2 fans, but the opening was OK, I agree that it looked spectacular, but I guess Infamous should have been placed above it.

Great opening indeed for Killzone 2, Halo 3 wasn't too bad either, you got to see the chief wake up and get right into action. I love action right of the bat.

I love MGS4 but I don't the thing the intro is as good as Heavenly Sword and Uncharted 2. Uncharted 2 leaves you hanging from a falling train, it gives you a sense of rush and excitment. Heaveny Sword puts you against a hundreds of enemies which is a great way to open a game like that.

I'm not saying MGS4 has a bad opening though because the opening is excellent and as a big fan of the series I was amazing while playing/watching the start.

Call of Duty 4 should have been mentioned in the list though.

Heavenly Sword had been released ahead of it's time. If it were to be released this year, I think it will get the attention it deserves.

theEnemy ---- u mean NinjaTheory not TeamNinja [those are the guys behind NinjaGaiden]. Anyway its upto SONY [they own the game], i would love if the GodOfWar guys did it, that would be so cool or NaughtyDog [ that would even cooler]. I think Sony should make a SuperSmashBros kinda game for the PS3 with all the SONY Characters fighting it out [NathanDrake,Nariko,Kratos,Jak ,etc].

I've played most of the games in that list, and have got to say inFAMOUS has the best f#cking opening. Absolutely amazing... if only they could have kept that pace up. All those exploding cars and electricity going off everywhere. It was teh sex. <3 Yes, even better than Uncharted 2's opening, but U2 does deserve to be in that list.

7 - Uncharted 2's opening scene instantly put you into the action
with the suspense of hanging from the boxcart. But IMO, MGS4 had the best opening. The music actually added a lot for me with the "Love Theme" playing while PMC's, Mid Eastern soldiers, and Gekko battled it out.

I agree, although UC2 had a nice, cinematic beginning, it's hard to beat MGS4's opening.

Especially if you add the numerous TV clips in the beginning.

8 - played every one of these titles....
gotta say I think I need to play heavenly sword again. Loved that game.... I wonder if there will be any tie in with GOW III and Heavenly Sword. Two games with sooooo much in common as far as characters. Would be an epic way to hint at a possible connection.

Since they include a game from 2007.

I'll add the opening sequences of Folklore and the Eye Of Judgment.

Plus Demon Souls and Ratchet and Clank A Crack In Time (the Great Clock).

That list is pretty awesome.

The opening scenes to all of those games are superb and they also happen to be some of the best games on the PS3.

Glad to see Heavenly Sword in there, the opening is epic and it's especially nice to see it included because it really is one of the most underrated and unerappreciated games this gen, on any platform.

Well i love infamous intro the most ..because it's sudden ...
you're on the main menu ...with a press start it's calm ... really calm ...and .... BOOM .. as soon as you press start ..the explosion happens ..

It was as if i started it all ( literally ) GREAT STUFF.

but the list is well done ... MGS scenes are epic no doubt and the intro is cult

I don't think uncharted 2 intro that great while i think the game itself is awesome near perfect ... That was a good intro but not GREAT even if the chapter one is awesome while you're climbing that train ...

I dunno about MGS4. I think the great thing about inFamous and Heavenly Sword is that they threw you right into the action, and UC2 certainly doesn't take its time either. Don't get me wrong, I freaking love MGS, and its a good scene, but that's it. It's just a scene.

Still though, nothing beats Bioshock's first 10 minutes.
